The creature, still rampaging within the four sturdy walls, froze. Her single eye grew round and wide, staring blankly into the space ahead. Slowly, her head turned to the king, and the empty stare turned itself into a glare of the utmost rage. If she weren't completely peeved off before, she sure was now. "Why you... don't you dare compare me to your kind! We have nothing in common! Nothing! I am in no way like your disgusting race!" Her body held perfectly still, her single eye staring at him with pure hatred. Nothing could have been worse to tell the shifter than what this human had just claimed. That she was anything like a human was to sign oneself up for suicide. The king would best watch his words, because there was more than one way to escape a cell. "And..." She slowly approached him, the one eye narrowed at the man before her. As she neared, her form shifted to her true form, her fingers slipping themselves around the bars that contained her when she came upon them, grasping them with a grip that could kill any small animal- including the chicken that got her in this mess. "What makes you think your rules apply to me? What in all your haughty, arrogant little mind makes you think even for an instant that I am subject to your stupid little rules?" A finger pointed at him, the only part of her body that could fit its way out of the cell. Energy attempted to gather on the extended digit, but the vampiress lacked the skill to summon such power without the use of her full body. So the air around her finger heated mildly, but no flame would spark. Only mildly irritated, Minno curled the one limb back around the bar with its siblings, and subjected herself back to glaring through the bars. "I am above you; you and your rules. And if you wish to argue otherwise... tell me, would you ask the same of a demon? Of course not. Because any race more powerful than you are, human, need not follow your rules. I am a superior race, and you are beneath me. Thus, I am exempt." One hand released its grasp on her confinement, but only so that she could position herself with her shoulder rested against the sturdy poles. Her cheek pressed against them, her one eye fixed through their gap at the man that stood beyond them. The words she spewed she knew she'd have never uttered a few years ago. It was a fact, however small, that her heart itself belonged to a human. She had willingly allowed it to him, and then, at that time, she knew she'd had his. Whether it was still in her possession now, she had yet to know, but hers had never left his grasp- never would, in all probability. If only she had the chance to see her love again... perhaps then she'd know just how strong their bond held. But it seemed unlikely that they'd ever meet again- it had been years, and far too many. He had aged several years, and in all that time she'd only progressed one age; she would never see another before he was lost to time. Doomed love, but love all the same. Her voice calm as it had failed to be since the man had arrived, Minno spoke once more. Softly, but not without its bite of threat to her tone. "Now... release me." |
