The Arena
The arena stands as a large, rectangular space surrounded by fifteen foot walls. These walls rise up in thick stone steps, like an inverse pyramid, with a smaller staircase running through the center for those trying to navigate to a seat. The steps are richly carved and provide seating on three sides for the common people, with the northernmost side reserved for those of a nobler nature, or just a little more coin in their pockets. The seating on the noble side is often covered with lush hangings and plump cushions to make it that much more comfortable.
The arena itself is used predominantly for combat, but there is a large stone hoop high on one wall, where native Angkarian's often stage games of Pok-A-Tok. The east and west walls harbor gates that allow entrants access to the main staging area, the tunnels leading back around beneath the south side of the pyramid.
The floor is covered in a fine sand, sometimes concealing the means to open trap doors and release creatures or weaponry into the area. The walls are cunningly worked to show designs of proud warriors engaging in combat or playing Pok-A-Tok, some of them concealing gates that provide a similar service to the hidden trapdoors.

The Forge
Beneath the north side of the pyramid, one may find the temperature drastically increasing until a sweat begins to break out upon the skin. This is where the metalsmiths work, those who beat weapons and armor into shape, mend the various items and harness and tack of those who compete, and enchant such wonders into the fabric of their being. Combatants who decide to trade their score for a Coin can find a myriad of craftsmen here to imbue their items or craft them a new one, for a fee.
The room itself is a vast hall, divided into varying workplaces and so named because of the great forge that dominates the center of the room. While one may find many blacksmiths here, there are also numerous leatherworkers, fletches, stonemasons and magically skilled craftsmen associated with the coliseum plying their trade. At the far end is an entrance as large as that which leads into the Entrance Hall, passing outside and allowing clean air to move through the room.

The Grounds
From the outside, the coliseum looks like a giant stepped pyramid. The entranceway is adorned with bright, richly embroidered hangings and leads into the cool interior chamber that is the entrance hall. On both the east and west sides of the coliseum, the halls lead to the antechambers and the gates of the arena. Spectators will find stairways in the halls that take them up to the seating on the steps. Please do not wander from your intended destination. Most of the rooms along these halls are broom cupboards. The antechambers are where waiting entrants may be found, along with small teams of trained physicians ready to tend to the hurts of any injured combatants. Both the east and west side have sizeable kitchens, and accommodation for the various staff than man the halls, and the Forge. Following the halls north, one may find the Forge, and the rear entrance which leads out onto the adjoining sparring grounds.
Should one decide to walk a little further north and follow the beaten trail here, you might find yourself walking through the quiet of the graveyard, where memorials to the fallen stand quietly waiting.

The Entrance Hall
This chamber, simply known as the Entrance Hall, is effectively the meeting point where most of the activity happens. The doors leading in are large enough to accommodate two horsedrawn carts side by side, and the floor is composed of smooth flagstones with inlaid designs.
At the far end of the hall a large ornate wooden desk dominates the room. Uniformed clerks bustle about handling papers and taking fares, while a handful of officals carefully mark up the listings. A huge blackboard behind them lists the upcoming games, and the going rate of bets taken by the house.
On the right side of the desk is a broad hall leading away towards the eastern end of the coliseum, and taking up most of the wall, a heavy gong. Beside the gong stands a robust looking girl with an oversized hammer, ready to strike it when a match is beginning.
On the left there is a similar hall leading to the western end of the pyramid, and a high arch with a heavy ironbound door. This room is simply known as 'El Puerto'. The room is dark, faintly lit by a small blue globe to each wall, casting it in eerie light, and contains only an archway in the center of the rear wall. This archway looks different to everyone, sometimes drastically so, and allows visitors from afar to simply say their incantation and arrive here. The only thing that everyone has in common, is that the word 'Home' is found somewhere upon it. Visitors leaving the coliseum may step back through to the last place they were after incanting again.
