Angkar: Wet season. Precipitation is common during the late afternoon and evening hours. Vegetation grows significantly during the summer, but flooding is a danger due to the monsoons that ravage the country. The rainforest sees evenly distributed rainfall throughout the season.

Ashoka: Desert: Extremely hot and dry. Violent, heavy downpours following long dryspells. Jungle: Hot and humid with frequent, violent rainstorms.

Morrim: Relatively hot and dry, but with a chance of thunderstorms from time to time. The heat may cause forest fires.

Soto: Hot and humid, tree cover is dense while ground growth is restricted. Thunderstorms see the most amount of rainfall during the season, and it can be very windy. On occasion, there are flash floods that can destroy homes and farms built on flood plains.

Elenlond is an original free-form medieval fantasy RPG set on the continent of Soare and the Scattered Isles, which are located to the south in the Sea of Diverging Waters. The four chief nations of the western side of the world—Ashoka in northern Soare, Soto in western Soare, Morrim in eastern Soare, and Angkar, the largest of the Scattered Isles—continue to experience growth and prosperity since the fall of the Mianorite gods, although power struggles within the countries—or outside of them—continue to ensue.

Angkar: To honour the reinvigoration of the ancient city of Mondrágon, the majestic Queen Eulalia has permitted the opening of a Coliseum where people from around the world and all walks of life can test their combat skills against one another. Many have already done battle in search of honour, glory, prizes and money.

Ashoka: In an otherwise peaceful times, Ashokans are beset with the relatively minor inconveniences of wandering undead and occasionally-aggressive giant rock worms. There has also been some controversy over the recent re-legalisation of human sacrifice.

Morrim: Rumour has it that Emperor Leofric de Hollemark is mustering forces for a war. Though the threat from Soto’s forests has passed, the forces previously employed in watching the forest now linger at the border. Rumours also circulate of a small group that has been dispatched to make contact with the tribes of the Do’suul Mountains.

Soto: The Sotoans have defeated the fey and liberated themselves from Méadaigh’s oppression! Preliminary efforts have been made at rebuilding the city of Madrid, which had been captured at the beginning of the war. However, the Sotoans are hindered from recovery famine. Méadaigh’s magic caused summer to persist in the Erth’netora Forest through the winter. Her power has been withdrawn and the plants die as if preparing for winter – even though it is now summer. The Sotoans must sustain off what food they can get, what creatures they can kill and what can be imported into the city from Morrim and Angkar.

    Elenlond's Oceans

    The Island of Daro
This island is far out in the ocean, and not often visited by inhabitants of Soare or Angkar. The land is dominated by a jungle and the coasts are rather rocky, making it difficult to find harbour. There are even some shipwrecks on the shore, where entire expeditions were smashed on sharp rocks. One can only wonder what happened to the people on these ships. Perhaps they joined the indigenous tribes on the island, or else were killed by them; it's hard to know when the inhabitants of Daro are not well-documented. On top of this, there are unconfirmed rumours of one or more eccentric sorcerers living on the island, but whether or not this is true is anybody's guess.

Despite all of this, the Island of Daro is generally a peaceful place to be, and is often used as a getaway for those who can easily get to it, or as a place to retire for those who want to become as hermit-like as possible.

    The Ruins of Storms
On an island far out to sea, in the darkest depths of Elenlond’s indigenous forests, rests the remains of an ancient temple perverted by pure chaos and darkness. Not a drop of sunlight ever shines from the behind the ever-swirling mass of rain clouds above these ruins. There is hardly ever a time when the rain does not stream down from the sky in angry torrents. Occasionally the rain will let up, but it will not completely dissipate. Hardly a creature roams these ruins save maybe those of the purest forms of darkness, demons untouched by the lure of the light. Though some might find this place to be too frightening to come near, there are a few who find solace within its empty halls and ruined walls. Then there are also those who are foolish or simply brave enough to approach the Ruins with the intent of purging the place and making it a bright and clean place once again.

    Green Turtle Key
To Ashoka's southwest and Soto's west lies an island so named for its shape—that of a turtle. Its name, however, has become something of a misnomer, as the island itself has nothing green on it. In fact, it is more akin to a frozen wasteland, covered in snow with a single lake on it that is always frozen over. It is said that over a millennium ago an angry deity cursed the once-green island, plunging it into a bitter cold until the waves eventually swallow it whole. Trees are ensconced in snow, making them glitter beneath the sun, and during the day it is cold—so cold that exposed flesh will develop frostbite within hours—and during the evenings those who do not have a warm fire and a protective shelter will freeze to death. It snows frequently, and it is said that there are indigenous people who inhabit the island, clad in the skins of animals that they have hunted. Nobody has visited the island long enough to document either these people or the creatures who live there.
