Apprentice Posts: 8 Group: Members Member #12 Joined: September 5, 2008	1. Character Name: Kimberly "Fern" Haphen 2. Character Age: 18 Years Old 3. Character Race: Mutant 4. Character Job: Student 5. Character Gender: Female 6. Characters Family: Mother:Aleisha Haphen (alive), Father:Trevor Haphen. (dead), 7. Character's Physical Description: Kimberly is not a delicate person. At 5'9" tall with a large bone structure she can seem very intimidating. Kimberly has light brown hair that she wears cut just above her shoulders. She has dark hazel eyes that in most cases look mostly green. She tends to wear browns and greens over any other color, mainly because of her power. She has light skin and smiles quite often. She always wears hiking boots unless she's dressing in her X-men suit. Her suit is the same dark blue as all of them are and she hasn't really bothered changing it. 8. Character's Temperament: Kimberly is not quick to anger. She doesn't talk a lot but she does smile quite often. Her quiet, cheerful temperament has made her many younger students confidante. She will at times have a deep melancholic air about her but she gets over it fairly quickly. She kind of has an older sister appeal to the younger mutants at the school and often sees herself as such. She loves everybody at the school and doesn't mind helping anyone out who needs it. She likes to read but she hates being cooped up inside. She spends as much time as possible outside, especially in the gardens. She loves gardens, always has and always will. That mixed with her power is part of why she's so down to earth. Just because she's not quick to anger doesn't mean she doesn't get angry though. Everybody does and she's no exception. When she does get angry it doesn't blow over quick, she stays mad for a while. She often manages to control herself so she doesn't lash out at whoever or whatever makes her angry but not always and then she can be somewhat of a terror. When she does get over being angry she's very apologetic if she's hurt anyone's feelings and tries to keep the same sort of situation from happening again. 9. Character History: Kimberly was raised mostly by her mother Aleisha because her father died when she was six years old. Aleisha worked outside of the home by necessity so she wasn't around her daughter as much as she liked. The one thing both Kimberly and Aleisha found that they had in common was an intense love of plants so Aleisha bought Kimberly potted plants and a saint bernard to help keep her company while she was at work. When Kimberly turned fourteen a spring blizzard came through their town in Colorado and destroyed their plants. Kimberly was devastated. Not only were her plants dead but her best friend had moved away and her dog was sick. When the snow was gone she went outside and sat down amongst the ruined plants, sobbing. Her mother came out to comfort her and stopped at the site before her. Kimberly had both hand buried partway into the soil and the plants were growing again. All of the poor frozen plants were lifting their heads, and turning a healthy green again. Kimberly heard her mother gasp and turned to look at her. "What?" she asked, unaware that her eyes were glowing green. Her mother took a step back, shaking. "What did you do?" she howled. Kimberly was confused. "What do you mean?" "What are you?" her mother hissed. "Mom?" Kimberly was a little frightened by how her mother was acting and stood up, brushing her hands on her jeans. Her eyes lost their glow and her mother took a shaky breath. "Kimberly honey, look down." she did and saw the plants. Confused she looked at her mom. "Oh honey are you feeling well? We need to get you to a doctor." Still confused Kimberly went with her to their old brown minivan. The doctor could find nothing wrong with her but on the way out they were stopped by a woman with long white hair who identified herself as Ororo Monroe. She talked to Kimberly's mother for a long time. Two days later Kimberly was on her way to Xavier's school for the gifted. She was one of the students who escaped with Colossus when their school was attacked so she only has second hand stories about how Jean disappeared. She's happy she's alive though. Power(s): Kimberly has power over plants. She can heal plants and make them grow. She has a very slight healing power with animals as well, if an animal is dying though there's not much she can do.
