Hello. I'm back To be honest, I can't even remember how I was or how I acted before I left. But I think that I was a bit of a terrible person. I always tried to follow the crowd, what was cool, and always tried to fit in with the cool kids per say, even if those cool kids weren't so great, or so worth it in the end. I also think that I had alot of anger ? Just alot of anger and frustration. These days, I'm not really scared to post my own thoughts, opinions and feelings anymore, without the fear of being judged or criticized too harshly by others. I love Cloud and I love Aerith. As a couple ? I do enjoy alot of their romantic relationship and chemistry and the time that they spent with each other, before Sephiroth cuts down the blade. Cloud/ Tifa just don't seem to work or flow, tbh. They just seem like a broken flower, with it's petals blowing away in the wind. Their relationship could of been special and strong, though things have happened, tragic things, and there's nothing but a giant hole in their relationship. It sucks how Cloud/ Aerith is seen as too cracky of a ship, and isn't really taken as seriously as it should or could be, by other FF VII fans. It's a very cute relationship, of a bodyguard protecting his flower-girl. Though there's something quite mature and deep about their relationship as well. It sucks how most people don't see this, and it would nice to again, discuss how they do work as a couple, and why they are more than just our otps. I'm sorry, for any harm or for any hurt feelings.

Welcome back. You'll be happy to hear that Square Enix officially called Cloud & Aerith 'amant' and koibito... both are words that mean 'mutual lover'. So who cares what Clotis think, Square made Clerith canon! |

Welcome back colbie! Though I'm a bit too new round here to know what you mean, but hey, a fresh start is always welcome. Past is past, as the saying goes :) I certainly can't argue that about Cloud and Tifa - as I've mentioned in one of my first posts here, they're the classic Carrie-and-Mr-Big situation. The past tragedies are one thing, but neither of them are very open with their feelings to begin with. Sure, they do try, but this seems to only cause more frustration. And their strong attachment and sexual tension only adds fuel to the fire. I personally believe that out of the whole compilation, On the Way to a Smile: Case of Tifa demonstrates this most of all. In the course of that novella alone, they must have tried for some kind of romance at least five times, only to fail more and more miserably each time. It makes me wanna say "just give up guys... you're clearly not relationship material, so just call yourselves friends with benefits and be done with it!" The frustrating thing about Square is, and this makes me really angry with them sometimes, is that they feel the need to pander to BOTH Clerith and Cloti - they seem to want to make it so both ships have a leg to stand on. Being the wimps they are at times, they have both referred to Cloud and Aerith as lovers, and described Cloud and Tifa's night under the highwind as "communicating mutual feelings of desire for one another." Talk about trying to please everybody... But that rant aside, it doesn't matter if Cloud is Tifa's lover as well (and to be as objective as possible, it would indeed seem Cloud had intimate relations with both women in the course of the game) - Cait Sith was onto something. Clerith would have been compatible because Aerith balances Cloud out so well - she isn't afraid to tell him what's what, unlike Tifa, who I think admires Cloud a bit too much. She idealises Cloud as this perfect guy, and when something is clearly wrong with him, she denies it to him and to herself. Aerith would never have been afraid to tell Cloud he wasn't perfect. Thankyou dear ! I just find them to be a huge bore, with no chemistry whatsoever. Sorry if that sounds like a not good enough of a reason or doesn't have enough depth to back it up, but Cloud wanting to spend more time cleaning with motorbike than trying to work out things with Tifa and get whatever they have back on track. heyehey red flag |

Yep, his precious Fenrir is clearly his top priority But I don't necessarily think Cloud's preoccupation with his vehicle had much to do with a lack of investment in his friendship with Tifa - because it was more to do with Cloud's issues than Tifa herself. Despite his heroic qualities Cloud is, in fact, quite vain and dare I say materialistic. I mean after Meteorfall when money was scarce, all he could think about was his damn motorcycle! Not to mention he clearly invests WAY more than he needs to in his hair. There is no way his hair's naturally that spiky, I say He's the kind of guy that has to have the highest end vehicle, phone... I mean did you see that thing he had in ACC in the scene where he met Denzel - in the mid-2000s when the movie was made, that phone was top of the line! So it's no surprise he also invested so much in his motorcycle at the expense of other more important things in his life (in Case of Tifa anyway). But that aside, he does care for Tifa, it's just when things get tough between them (and they do more often than not), he tends to turn his attention to things he actually does understand... MATERIAL THINGS But that said, I think Cloud and Tifa both, to varying degrees throughout COT, tried to forge some sort of stability with each other in an effort to get their lives back on track after Meteorfall. It's not so much a lack of chemistry between them, I personally think, as much as a sheer lack of compatibility. They can support and defend each other but they can't LIVE with each other in the long-term - at least, that's what my impression of them is. |
