Holy Materia; White or Green?

So I've been doing a small project for myself by making a lot of custom Aerith merch, one being to make a Holy Materia display set. I started trouncing through ebay, found a lot of pale green orbs that looked similar, and then pulled up the original in game graphic for reference. As I looked at it, I began to wonder. Why wasn't it white?

Holy is referenced as being the White Materia, the ultimate in White Magic, with Meteor being Black. Meteor DOES appear black, or at least deep purple in colour. So no difference there.

But Holy for some reason appears green. Now if I recall, it was only green during Aerith's death scene, and then later on disk 2 at the City of Ancients with Bugenhagen. Bugen and Cloud said that Holy began to glow a pale green colour, but does that only symbolize that she is praying/her prayer is reaching the Planet? Would it otherwise be a White orb if it wasn't activated?

What does everyone else think?

Yeah that's something I have always found a bit strange in the game that the Holy Materia is referred to the Ultimate White Magic but it appears green the same colour as the Magic materia. I could view it as being a Magic materia since it does have its "element" but then again the Black and White Materia are supposed to be completely unique from everything else since they were a gift from the Planet to the Cetra.

But then again looking into it, the Cetra were able to transform the Black Materia into the Temple of the Ancients so maybe the Cetra changed the Holy Materia into a green orb in order to disguise it and protect it from people who would try to do wrong with it.

Actually it appears green in Aerith's Wall Market Dress model you can notice the little green orb on her ribbon that you don't see in any other of her game models.

I always figured it was called the White and Black Materia because they were the most destructive of their type. Holy is White Magic and Meteor is Black Magic.
And I always thought the Black Materia was a VERY dark green... Or are my eyes bad? I thought it was perfectly balanced. Pale green/almost completely white vs dark green/almost completely black.

I always thought it was kind of the color of the Lifestream. I wondered about that myself, too, though. I think it looks a lot better as green than it would white... :P
