Will the love triangle ever end? Will SE ever put a rational conclusion to why Cloud preferred one girl over the other, not to mention the numerous pieces of "evidence" that both sides apparently have to back up their ideal pairing? Well, for me, I don't. I don't think the love triangle will end. I don't think SE will ever give out a conclusive answer without losing a large portion of fans or upsetting millions of players. And even if the love triangle was over and Cloud was with the one he loved, how would that work? If Cloud was with Tifa, how would that play out? Their relationship? Their struggles? Their lives? If Cloud and Tifa never got together after 2 whole years of slowly mending their lives together again, what makes people think that they'll get together then? Cloud is not compatible for Tifa, and Tifa is not compatible for Cloud. They are close friends and allies in battle, so if SE wanted to somehow throw in some big finale that said "Cloud and Tifa have gotten over their struggles and learned to live together along the lines of a romantic relationship", I still wouldn't buy it. If they are leaving the game up to "interpretation" and still throwing in subtle hints here and there leaning towards Cloud and Aerith, then why would they just say that Cloud and Tifa were in love when obviously they didn't make it seem that way?! *sigh*... And then there's Cloud and Aerith. And as much as I hate to say this, I don't understand how FF7 would just end with Cloud and Aerith living happily together in the same dimension. IMO, I believe that Aerith will live on in Cloud's heart no matter what. Although some real interaction between them would be nice, they don't need to be under the same roof in order to be together. I mean, even if SE did end the game with Cloud and Aerith being together, how would that work? Would Cloud die? Would Aerith come back to life? Because you see, those 2 reasons to me are actually VERY dull. Cloud, the hero, dying? Cloud, the main and most important character of the game would not just die. The storyline does not intend him to do so. Even in AC/ACC, when he was on the verge of death, he still didn't die! Aerith made sure of that! SMH. And then the whole "Aerith's ressurection" idea is gone, mostly because: a. Too much time has passed in order for her body to be ressurected and back into the world where Cloud resides. b. That would ruin the whole story -- having the beloved and tragic flower girl have us experience such emotions and then having her appear again in some happy scene would just be stupid. Plus, it'd be really cliche, considering that that's how most of USA's animated "love" stories are told. c. The theme of FF7 is - or is thought to be - loving someone even when they're gone. FF7 is about dealing with problems that are totally bizarre, and yet we somehow still relate to the characters and their pain. Oh, and guess what folks? Our loved ones don't die and then pop back up again in hopes to pick up where they/we left off. That's not how it works. Although FF7 is obviously fictional, it still has a realistic touch to it, which is what made me like the game so much. I actually felt compelled to reach out towards Cloud when he caught Aerith in his arms. I actually wanted to buy the flower from the flower girl at the beginning of the game. I actually wanted to help Vincent and Lucrecia get back together even though their story isn't important or even mentioned in the game. So yes, we can like whatever pairing we want, although it can be SO frustrating when someone tries to say that we're wrong. We can debate all we want and still get yelled at and bashed on because guess what? The answers have already been said, the clues are already there, and if you add 2 and 2 together, you get Cloud still yearning for his flower girl. Tifa will always be there for Cloud, just like Cloud will always be there for Tifa, not to mention the other members of the AVALANCHE family. So, a conclusive answer to the love triangle isn't really needed. Although it would be nice to shut up some crazy fans, I'm content and happy. (: WOOOOOWWWWW. Anyways, that's my little rant for you guys. ............Yep.

Well the FFVII compliation is basically just a story, a mulit-volumned story. And stories can go wherever its author's take the reader, depending on the world, characters and atmosphere. It is not too far out of reality (in Final Fantasy at least) for characters to live on past death. It was once said by someone from the developing team (dont have quote on me ) that since Sephiroth is still "alive" then so Aerith must be as well. Basically if people are fine with Sephiroth roaming the lifestream coming and going and fighting Cloud whenever he likes, then why cant Aerith do the same? LOL I dont mean fight Cloud, but why cant Aerith stay in the lifestream and meet Cloud in the promised land (which he said he thought he could do and spends all his energy in every compliation trying to achieve)? If Sephiroth can because of his strong will, then Aerith can with her even stronger will and since Aerith lives on in Cloud's heart she will never die. It was also said that she can stay their because she is remembered by others, and since Cloud will never forget her, then it is not that far to say that he does meet her again. Also when asked about how many women Sephiroth has loved didnt the same person also get evasive and say something like he had no idea if Cloud andTiifa ever got together and that if a person wanted to talk about this with friends they could. Basically he was saying Cloti would never be declared canon but fans could imagine whatever they wanted. So while I think the love triangle will never be solved because it still brings fans in and interest in the games. I also think Cloud and Tifa will never be declared as lovers, but Cloud and Aerith have heavy hints at an everlasting love. |

IDK really. They left it in such a way that both sides of fans couldn't really complain. Cloud lives with Tifa and Aerith lives on in Cloud's heart and memories. That's good enough. I would like SE to just leave FFVII alone now, I'm a bit tired of it.

Everything Vixie said. It was be a major blow to the fan base if they declared which person is Cloud's love to especially after so many years of debating. And also like Vixie said they should just concentrate on their future games and not VII. |
