I noticed that some people think Tifa is a cliched character. I felt that she was radically different from most female fighters/martial artists. Why do people think so? |

Tifa was in my opinion more annoying then clich'e. Personally I can't stand her, but to have a female lead that is: insecure about her feelings yet strong because she uses her fists. In truth Tifa isn't strong mentally at all, but physically she is. She is clich'e that she's been thrown into the spotlight of being the strong female lead because of her physical abilities. HOWEVER mentally Tifa isn't clich'e because she's insecure and emotional. In many ways Tifa is realistic of women in real life, because the basic perspective of women over history is that they're supposed to be emotional, insecure, and jealous of other women when it comes to the man they want. However physical strength Tifa is not realistic because strong women who fight for a living go through emotional training as well.(at least from what I've seen) The point being Tifa isn't clich'e in her physical and mental strengths put together, but individually without them being put together she is. This is all my opinion though. |

I think her attitude and personality tends to be fairly cliche for a lot of female Japanese characters, but they gave her a look, job, and fighting skills that completely contrast it. |
