Kingdom Hearts Series; What's SE doing?!?

To touch the light I see in your eyes...
I didn't see starting a new category for this, so I thought I'd bring it up here. As of now, the Kingdom Hearts series seems to be going off in tangents - and few people seem to have any interest.

For one, the new game Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days takes place between KH1 and KHII and focuses on Roxas's time in Organization XIII. Another new game, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, takes place 10 years before KH1 and focuses on three characters from Final Mix: Terra, Ven, and Aqua.

From what I've seen, nobody's really all that interested in these new games. It seems to me that everyone would much rather see Kingdom Hearts III! So far, SE's said nothing definite about the release of KHIII. Instead, all I see all is info on Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days at sites like FFVII ACReunion.

So does anyone have interest in these new games, or would it be better for SE to come out with KHIII?

While I might get 358/2 Days, probably not as much as KH3. Since the beginning, though most buyers was suckered in by FF cameos, most players ended up caring about Sora, Riku and Kairi (if we ignore the flame wars about Kairi), so naturally, we want to know what happens next.

Roxas and Org. XIII fans will probably try to get the DS game, and some might get Birth By Sleep (claimed to have improved battle controls), but otherwise, what happen next in Sora's story is much appreciated.

Until we realise playing the prequel and midquel is needed to understand or fill in plot holes that'll appear in KH3.

I'm a huge fan of Roxas--he's my favorite KH character--but I'm not looking forward to this new game, and don't know if I want to buy it. I'm not interested in the series to the point where I'll buy whatever spin-off game the come out with. To me, 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep don't look like good games, and they don't interest me.

The only reason that I'd buy 358/2 Days, if I were to, would be for Roxas, but I know they're just going to turn his story into an even bigger convoluted mess, and I'm not into that. Plus, the new Organization member that they're throwing in, the mysterious ~number XIV in Organization XIII omgomg~ looks like just another stupid plot device in my opinion. Just like I think the whole Ven/Roxas lookalike thing they're throwing in looks dumb. D:

So, depending on what these new games are like when they come out, I may just end up disregarding them completely from my own personal headcanon, and choose to stick with KH1 and 2, bah. I can't say I'm that interested in KH3, either, really. I think things were fine at the end of KH2, and they don't need to keep going with it.

Whenever you call me, I'll be waiting
I'm a huge fan of Organization XIII, so I'm pretty psyched about 358/2 Days (get to play Demyx, yay! XD). The only problem I have is I don't own a DS, but I'll probably end up getting one to play this game anyways (I did the PSP that way for Crisis Core afterall. ^^; ) I'm not too interested in Birth by Sleep, considering I don't really care for new characters, but I'll end up getting it as well since it is a PSP game. :)

Ha, Aly, I think you created this topic just because of my whining. XD

Personally, I do not care whatsoever about the KH spinoff games. They're really trying to whore this series out, and it's annoying me. <_< The new games that are coming out are uninteresting and ridiculous- seriously, a 14th member of Org. 13? Uh, thought it was so named because there were only 13 members. It's like a bad fanfic that won't go away. -_-

Personally I felt KH2 left plenty of room for a sequel- the letter from Mickey, the fact that Malificent is back, Cloud and Sephiroth issues open, and not to mention that- well, this one is just a theory of mine, but I believe the original intent behind the games was to have Sora unite all the worlds into one by finding the true light. . . er- anyway. My point being, if they want to do more KH, they need to first and foremost finish off the main trunk of the story before separating off into other branches.

Roxas' story doesn't interest me, and neither does this prequel. As of now they haven't given anything in the original games to indicate that a prequel was needed. I think I'm going with Kura on this one- if they ruin KH, I'm ignoring the spinoffs and sticking with the first two games.

Eh. I'm not gonna buy them. They have too big a chance of sucking. Spin off games normally don't end up that well. 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep actually do interest me though, but not enough for me to spend the money on them. KH3 is the only one I'll be investing my money in.

I loved KHI, KHII, and Chain of Memories because they were EPIC CROSSOVERS.

Otherwise I generally didn't care very much about the new/overly complicated overtypical S-E characters. I'd rather have more delicious crossover.

I'll buy the one with Demyx in it... cause Demyx is in it. (I hope we don't find out about his past though, I'd rather it remains a mystery) Not sure about the others though... I pretty much lost interest in Birth by Sleep when Roxas' clone showed up.

Nĺ kidding.
I'm planning on getting 358/2 for DS (it would be my 2nd DS-game, whoo, I'm SUCH a spender D8), but I'm not too excited about that 14th member
Xion. Her story does explain why Roxas can wield two keyblades and all, but still...I don't see why they made her a member, when Riku Replica or Naminé weren't considered as members.
My reasons for buying this game is to see more Olette-goodness and maybe a few peeks of my fave Organization members (like Larxene).

I'm interested in the Disney worlds of Birth by Sleep, like Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White's homeworlds, but I'm not too thrilled about the Sora/Riku/Kairi-rip off-characters Ven, Terra and Aqua. Or Mr. Baldie. Well, I can't really judge since I don't know their stories and their backgrounds could be vital for Kingdom Hearts 3 for all I know.

THIS. And also the fact that I'm apparently KH's bitch, so I just HAVE to get these games. Especially 358/2 Days. It has the Beauty and the Beast world! :fangirl:

And I've been wanting a PSP for a while (for CC and Dissidia), so BBS gives me an awesome reason to get it.

That's my thoughts. I don't care about all those new Orginzation XIII people and I thought KHII told us all of Roxas's story that we needed to know. I'm not interested at all in seeing more new characters. I want Darkwing Duck, the Gummi Bears, Pocahantes, Quasimodo, Kefka, Locke, Cecil, Garland, all of those people.
