Sorry I haven't been around much. The holidays have me really busy. Anyways, I have more info on those art cards on my home computer. I will try to get to that tonight if I have time. Edit: Okay, the one of Cloud holding Aerith on the black background is called "Protection". It is actually printed in English on the card. This scene represents Aerith's death...
The one of Aerith lying on a bed with Cloud hovering over her is called "Calmness". This one is about Aerith's death and burial....
The one of Cloud and Aerith together with the animals is called "Tranquility". There is nothing else about this painting, unfortunately. Some other things of interest:

Lol, Clerises are getting more desperate for proofz by the day. ![]() Too bad for you this proof is official, dipshit, which is more than I can say for "CloTi proof". Buh-bye now. ~FF_G~ |

Desperation is not common among winners. Thus, nobody is desperate here. |

Shiki's one of those people who says, "I can see!" Says the blind man. Keep on lurking, you're probably one of us (Clerith) in hiding amongst your cloti clan. Hehehehe! |

I have to admit this confuses me. It says that Aerith is "sleeping" in Cloud's hands, but the description makes it sound like she's about to die. Has she just been stabbed by Sephiroth? If so, then why title it as "Protection", when Cloud has just failed to protect her? Seems odd to me.
Ah, okay... I've heard before that this one is the death scene, but I thought that was just conjecture. I'm glad to see it confirmed. OOC, do you have anything on this one? I've always thought it looked like the night of their date at the Gold Saucer.
I'm not convinced that's Cait in the background. But if it *is* him, then I would guess he's there because of his prediction at the Gold Saucer that "you will lose something dear."
Possibly... but I'm looking at it in terms of Sephiroth finding Aerith. You're looking at it in terms of Cloud finding Sephiroth. ![]()
Well, that sure looks like Cloud's spiky hair! ![]()

I figured that #78 is Aerith fallen into a deep sleep/coma, so Cloud have to protect her. Then in #79, she died, which is a very big blow to Cloud. Well, from what I interpret from it, anyway. |

It might just be from another series... or one of Amano's original works. I'm not sure, though. |

I'm reviving this topic coz I've got a question about Amano's art. In the Destiny Failed? thread, Beatrix gave us examples of Amano's art showing the pairings from Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, 10, and 10-2. I was just curious... has Amano done artwork of any other Final Fantasy pairings?

Canon pairings from other games - not necessarily FF. |

I wouldn't know which pairings in other FF games are canon, really (with the exception of FFXII and I don't know if he did anything other than the logo and one pic of the Judges together). But, here's a page with his FF artwork: http://yoshitaka-amano.kouryu.info/genre_eng-jeux.html |

Oooo... very nice site! Thanks, FFG! ![]()
Aren't Cecil and Rosa from FFVI considered canon? I remember someone quoting the FFVI Ultimania, claiming that it said Rosa was Cecil's koibito. Of course, I immediately pointed out that it specifically mentioned that she was Cecil's koibito, unlike another statement.

No problem! LOL! Yeah, Tifa's statement didn't even mention Cloud, it just talked about "dimensions to her character". Plus, Tifa was considered a koibito by lots of men, including Rude, Johnny, and all of the boys she grew up with. So, to say koibito can only refer to Cloud (when he isn't even mentioned) is not only absurd, it's narrow-minded.

Oh my god. I knew in that statement it said Cecil's name. A few Clotis were using that as proof to show Tifa is Cloud's koibito. I- actually, I don't know why I never asked them if Cecil's name was mentioned. Well, now I know his name is mentioned and I know what to say next time they say something like that crap. FF_G, Rude and Johnny were also mentioned with the koibito word? 'Cause I tried saying that to one person, and they said it didn't go for them because Tifa didn't return the feelings. Go figure. <_< |
