Did you think it was okay for cloud to put aerith in the lake? Well for me! I thought that was the best way for him to put aerith to rest Im glad he didnt leave her there and take off! or that he had buried her under the ground! i cant even imagin cloud burying aerith! and i bet cloud couldnt imagin himself doing it too! so i guess square made the perfect choich by making cloud put aerith in the water! what about you?

Well, it was better than dragging her body around and playing Weekend at Bernie's with her. |

I think it was the right thing to do and I also consider it symbolic. I have seen water used in Anime to symbolize consciousness. Maybe the creators intended to symbolize that Aerith's consciousness would remain, even though her body was hidden beneath the water. After all, it was confirmed that Aerith's consciousness resides in Cloud.

And I think that Wolf's Rain is THE anime to compare with FF7 ( flower maiden, wolves, paradise, cities with poor and rich people, a crater, lot of ice and snow and sad events, an Aerith's burial tribute :o ). The water is used the same way and when comes the time to "bury" the person, the person's lover is the one who does it. Ok, burying someone in water is unrealistic but I think that they (people who did FF7 and Wolf's Rain) don't really care. It's a symbol, just like Yuna walking on water in FF10 , totally impossible but totally symbolic (and again, there is water everywhere). I don't know if it's about consciousness alone, someone said on the internet that it meant sending a person's soul with your feelings (meaning love, a personal love or the love you have for humanity... in Wolf's Rain and FF7, it's personal, in FF10, Yuna sends her people ) .It reminds me of Lost Odyssey. I don't know if you played the game, but there is a touching and sad moment in it, and *CAN BE A SPOILER FOR THE GAME EVEN IF I DO NOT MENTION ANY NAMES * the body's person is placed in a small boat, covered with white flowers and sent to the ocean. Such ceremonies exist in our world ( once, I think I saw that on TV ). It's about consciousness returning to somewhere I guess. But a body buried directly in water is a bit different. |

Hee... thanks! Oh, I agree. When I saw Cher's burial in Wolf's Rain I was all stabbing my finger at the TV going, "Holy ****!!! It's Aerith's burial all over again!"

I thought that Cloud will put in Aerith in the lake, will be because Cloud thought that here will be the Aerith composed place? Is purely personal opinion > < But what is undeniable, Aerith death, really has not shocked the innermost feelings which in how many worlds FF confuses! |
