Forgive me, but what does OTP stand for?

Stands for "One True Pairing".

What did you find most irritating about Final Fantasy XII?

Which character do you think has the craziest hair style?

Favorite super hero?

Lots of things actually, but mainly the lack of save points throughout the game. That's inexcusable in this day and age.

Selphie from FFVIII. I do like it though.

Favorite super hero?
I generally dislike comic book super heroes. The X-Men are okay though, and based on the movie that came out earlier this summer, I liked Iron Man a lot.

Where's Waldo?
Stuck in the 1980's I think ^_^

Oh, I know what you mean. Wiping at the Ridorana Cataract and then realizing you had to start back on the first floor... oh, so many times I wanted to cry. D: But I think the loot system was god awful too. Like, I was always so paranoid about what to keep and sell...

Really? I thought her haircut was mild. Well, in comparison to people like Seymour or shounen characters in general. XD

I'm a bad comic fan. I have yet to watch Iron Man even though I really want to. >.>;

Best Redneck Joke?

Favorite show to watch?

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?

Hehe, don't worry. Like I said, I'm not even into comic books really.

Redneck humor isn't really my cup of tea

Not counting anime, probably either The Sopranos, Star Trek: TNG, or Home Improvement.

Pi to the power of ten divided by the square root of the airspeed velocity of two swallows carrying a coconut at least 1000 miles if they're migratory.

I'll try to solve that word problem when I feel I have free time on my belt to waste on it. XD

Ideal Christmas present?

What out of the 80's would you wear?

The most dramatic death scene you have ever seen?

Assuming it has to be an actual material thing that costs money... probably just something simple, like Castlevania Judgement for the Wii (mainly for the online play, though I'm told it also happens to be a fighter where the single player is solid too), or Prince Caspian on DVD. I have a great family that cares about me, so I'm not terribly picky about my gifts anymore ^_^

Of course, a day off with my girlfriend and love and happiness all over the world would be nice too ^_^

You do realize I'm a guy right? :P

So er... I guess a leather jacket and faded jeans with a Star Wars t-shirt? And maybe one of those silly wristwatches like Marty McFly wears in Back to the Future XD

Besides Aeris you mean? :P

Probably the one from Phantasy Star IV. I don't wanna spoil it for anyone here who hasn't played the game. I'll just say that PSIV is one of my all time favorite video games ever, and everyone here should play it, and not just for the scene in question either :D

Of course. I wasn't expecting you to respond with "parachute pants" or "jelly shoes".

Can't say I have played it. I've heard good things about it though, so that definitely perks my interest.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree... and ONLY the original version, not all the stupid remakes V_V

Ideal transportation?
I drive a regular car if that's what you mean. However, I think Lone Starr's flying Winnebago in Spaceballs is the coolest method of transportation ever in a movie.

What would you do with a time machine if you had one?
Not a friggin' thing, and yes I'm serious. Yeah sure, I've done stupid things I regret, but they've also helped define who I am. I don't think we're meant to be able to change the past, but to try and learn from it and better ourselves. I just wish more people in the world would actually do that ;_;

I'm also scared of what would happen due to the change of history. Even the smallest change could have extreme consequences.

Edit:

Ok, no problem ^_^ And sorry if I sounded snappy about it in my previous post.

Hi Vanelo! I just wanted to say I really like your movie selections! I have not seen The Godfather but you put The Princess Bride, The Empire Strikes back and made a reference to SpaceBalls which honestly made me :fangirl: a bit... so I am very excited to ask you a few questions.

Favorite Mel Brooks movie?

Favorite Line from a Mel Brooks movie?

Favorite Star Wars character?

Have you watched VH1's I love the 80's? If so did you think they hit the mark with reminiscing about decade?

Hehe, nice ^_^

I watched those movies a lot growing up (minus The Godfather until maybe six or seven years ago, though I've watched it a lot too since then) and have fond memories of them from my childhood, so naturally they left an impact on me. Even just watching movies in general from the 80's and early 90's gets me a tad nostalgic sometimes (same with games too!)

You should definately watch The Godfather trilogy too! They're all amazing movies, and you'll both want AND need to view them multiple times each to catch everything. The first movie is just indescribably well made, especially considering that nearly everyone other than Marlon Brando was new to film at the time. The Godfather Part II has probably the most complex movie ever made in terms of sheer plot. And Part III, while perhaps not as well regarded as the first two, is still fantastic and has one of the most powerful and mind-blowing endings I've ever seen to any story in any storytelling medium.

Probably Spaceballs, but Young Frankenstein is amazing too. I also have a bit of a soft spot for Robin Hood: Men in Tights too XD

Eye-gor: *bangs on the front door of the Frankenstein estate*
Dr. Frankenstein: "What knockers!"

Yoda. I don't care if that isn't a particularly original answer either, Yoda's just that freaking awesome. He's vastly more intelligent than any human, he can be both funny and serious, he's very spiritual and lives by a code of honor... and yet even he's not perfect as episodes III and VI made tragically clear. Oh, and Yoda vs. The Emperor is my all time favorite duel in the entire trilogy, even beating out the epic battle between Luke and Vader in The Empire Strikes Back.

I never really watched it, though I barely watch TV at all these days. I only remember one episode where it talked about the rise of malls, though that was pretty interesting, and I liked seeing the taped footage from back then. The show sounds like something I should really watch sometime though, as I was born and grew up in the 80's and actually remember a lot of it despite being so young.

So Vanelo you are seriously starting to freak me out, Those are some of my top Mel Brooks movies with Men in Tights being my all time favorite and adding Blazing Saddles to the list.

And you love Yoda the most too? What you said about him is exactly why I love him so much too, and for me it was actually the Count Dooko fight where the deal was sealed for me, it is so brief but so fabulous!!

You have such great taste!! *shamelessly allows her ego to show*

Okay so I saw your C&A profile (swears is not stalking) and saw that you have both Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross as two of your favorite games. I love both of them too but did you say that you thought the CT soundtrack was possibly the best soundtrack of all time? Because I feel that way about CC's soundtrack  I mean they are both fabulous but why did you pick CT over CC?

Did I say that earlier? Well, if so, yes, I do think that ^_^

Several reasons...

1. I'm biased since I played Chrono Trigger first XD
2. The regular fight music track in Chrono Cross is... not as bad as a lot of people say, but definately sub-par and you have to hear it a lot. Chrono Trigger has no tracks I can say that about.
3. IMHO, nothing in CC compares to Chrono Trigger's ending theme, To Far Away Times. That was the first music I ever heard from a video game that got me a bit misty eyed... and it still can even today.

That said, Chrono Cross' overall soundtrack is also amazing. The music that plays after you actually use the Chrono Cross at the end is very powerful and sad, yet also heartwarming. Kid's Theme and the battle with the Fused Dragon are excellent as well :D

Hey Vanelo! :huggle:

Why Vaan/Penelo?

What are your favorite FF pairings?

I  FF8 too! :fangirl:

What are your thoughts on the Twilight series and Harry Potter?

Which love triangle in FF is your favorite and why?: Cecil/Rosa/Kain, Cloud/Tifa/Aerith, Squall/Rinoa/Seifer (&/or Quistis), Zidane/Dagger/Eiko, Tidus/Yuna/Rikku etc.

Have you played the Devil May Cry series? :fangirl:

Like my icon?

EDIT: Does anyone know why the quote feature isn't working for me?

Yay, someone asked me some questions XD

Oh boy, this is gonna be a long post, just warning everyone...

Why Vaan/Penelo?

For one thing, they both happen to be my favorite characters in FFXII. Yet they're both hated upon for arbitrary reasons like "Vaan's not the REAL main character" or "Penelo's just along for the ride." Things, which, IMHO, have nothing to do with whether their characters are actually likable or not.

For another, I think they're a very cute/funny/silly type of couple, and yet it's also obvious that they truly care about and love each other. They're always having friendly little chats in the background while Ashe and co. are always discussing the fate of the universe, so to speak, and I think that works great. And that scene where Vaan was willing to simply give up, at a moment's notice, a treasure he'd risked life and limb for just for Balthier's help to rescue Penelo, really struck a chord with me. I mean, an hour ago he was willing to fight him for it, but when it comes to his girl, it shows he's willing to put everything else aside. Vaan might not have Basch's hardened war experience or Balthier's James Bond style smoothness, but he's definately the real man of the team where it counts. ;)

And Penelo has a great, fun personality, always cheerful and upbeat, yet not as super-mega-hyper-active!! as previous FF heriones in the same style, like Rikku.

Cloud x Aeris and Vaan x Penelo should be obvious :P

But as for the others...

Cecil x Rosa
Vincent x Yuffie
Squall x Rinoa
Tidus x Yuna (though I'm not sure how I feel about how FFX-2 handled it)

Quote:

I love FF8 too!

Yep. Now that I think about it, FFV and FFVIII are the only games in the entire series where I geuninely care about AND like every permenant member of the party.

Plus, in my eyes, it was the last truly different, bold, and creative FF game. The story and characters were unique and not a rehash of the older games, the battle system is still, nearly a decade later, one of the most unique I've ever seen, and the semi-futuristic setting is awesome.

Twilight: Hard to say. I've only seen the movie, which I am told is rather different from the books, which I don't really have an interest in reading. The way some of Twilights fans act annoys me though @_@

HP: I like it a fair bit. I don't think it's the greatest end-all-be-all fantasy or anything, but it's an entertaining series.

Cecil/Rosa/Kain - I hate this one. Kain is a royal jerk, and Cecil and Rosa are MARRIED FFS!!!

Cloud/Aeris/Tifa - I actually kinda like this one, assuming that you discount everything that's in the stupid compilation as I do (well, ok, except maybe for Dirge of Cerberus, I actually liked that one for some reason). They all three obviously care about one another, and there's no cliche fighting over who-gets-who or anything. Of course, Cloud and Aeris are the ones made for each other though :P Tifa should totally get together with Barret or Johnny or something.

Squall/Rinoa/Quistis - Seifer is one of the most despicable characters I've ever seen in a video game, despite only being 18 (wayyyy younger than most typical RPG villains), so I REFUSE to even consider him as a part of this. Even Rinoa, who's not quite the brightest bulb in the box, realized what a total loser he was. And anyone who thinks Quistis and Seifer have any chance at all together needs to play FFVIII again and pay attention, as the only speak a few words throughout the entire game directly to each other, and ALL of them are in contempt.

However, I kinda like the Squall/Rinoa/Quistis thing on it's own, just for how unique it is. Quistis is a very rare combination... she's strong, sexy, AND highly intelligent. Yet, Squall could tell that they ultimately wouldn't be best for each other in the long run, and did what I consider to be the smart thing... he went after the woman who showed a true romantic interest in him. Quistis is much harder for someone like Squall to read, as she flirts a lot, and her timing in trying to get closer to Squall in the training grounds was terrible, as, while I believe her feelings were genuine at the time, it also looked like she was searching for a shoulder to cry on since she'd been demoted.

Squall knew he was different and much more introverted than the other students, and probably realized he couldn't just "settle" for Quistis. He needs someone who clearly wants him for him. And that would be Rinoa! She came up to him out of all the guys at the dance, and she was clearly overjoyed at seeing him, and thought of nothing else except Squall once they got to know each other.

I feel kinda sorry for Quistis though. I really love her character, and I actually like her a lot more than Rinoa. She just wasn't the right woman for Squall.

Zidane/Dagger/Eiko - This one would be interesting if Eiko weren't so young that Zidane would be considered a pedophile just for looking at her the wrong way <_< And that's all I have to say about it

Tidus/Yuna/Rikku - To be honest, I didn't see any evidence of a real triangle here, so I don't know what to think about it. IMHO, FFX makes it blatantly obvious that Tidus and Yuna supposed to be together and with no one else, even if the player chooses to pursue someone else. Even FFVII, which I consider to be very cut and dry on it's own merits as far as Cloud belonging with Aeris is concerned, is way more ambiguious.

Quote:

Have you played the Devil May Cry series?

Yep. I played the original and loved it. DMC2... was rather easy and I got bored with it. DMC3... was insanely difficult and I got tired of it about 1/3 - 1/2 way through. And I don't have a PS3 or 360 to play DMC4 :(
