Well, I figure since I'm new here, if anyone wants to ask me questions, this would be a great way to help you guys get to know me and vice versa. I don't mind crazy, random, or off the wall questions either, so don't be timid! I might not answer extremely personal questions depending on various things, but I take all questions on a case-by-case basis. So don't be afraid to ask, the worst I'll say is that I can't answer it

My favorite anime series I can narrow down to three: Evangelion, Chrono Crusade, and Excel Saga. I can't do any better, because they're like apples and oranges, they all bring something totally different and awesome to the table. Evangelion has amazing characterization (particularly with Shinji, Rei, and Gendo) and psychological depth. Chrono Crusade has my favorite anime couple ever with Rosette and Chrono, plus the most powerful and emotional ending I've ever seen in an anime (which IMHO would put it high in the running for best ending ever in a visual medium). Excel Saga has the insanely awesome over-the-top Japanese humor and simply oozes charm. Trigun also gets an honorable mention for having one of the best fight sequences I've ever seen in it's final episode. For movies, Kiki's Delivery Service. Best animated movie EVER, Japanese or otherwise. Sadly, I can't quite get into manga between how expensive it is, and being unable to "trick" myself into reading from right to left properly. Maybe if I found the right one...
I'm not much of a music person, but I enjoy a lot of genres when I'm just listening. It'd be easier to say that I do NOT like rap, country, or extremely heavy metal (i.e. crap that's several notches heavier than, say, Linkin Park). I will say that I like purely instrumental Jazz and random J-Pop (i.e. there's no rhyme or reason to why I like or dislike certain J-Pop songs, I just do) since those aren't exactly mainstream genres.
Hopefully to just hang out with my GF. We're probably not going to dress up this year, but if we do, I'll likey buy one of those Clone Trooper helmets that change your voice, assuming I can find a competent and inexpensive outfit to go with it. Those helmets are sweet, and this is coming from someone who honestly could care less about dressing up for Halloween or most other occasions. |

Hi Vanelo! Probably a silly question but what is your opinion of FFXII? Are you looking forward to FFXIII? Hmmm....I should ask more....Favourite video game character/soundtrack? |

DISCLAIMER: Post contains major spoilers for Xenogears. If it's possible to add spoiler tags and/or white text, lemme know and I'll gladly edit my post. I <3 your avatar pic Vixie
First things first: The only silly questions are the ones you don't ask. Anyhow, as much as I love some of the characters (Vaan, Penelo, Basch, Larsa, Judge Gabranth), I feel it's a middle-of-the-road entry for the series. The story, while it has sligtly better written dialogue than most previous FFs, is otherwise just competent. The core gameplay is fantastic, and I love the battle system, but it's all burdened with several problems that really bring the game down, which include... - Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE save point placement. It often takes 15 minutes to get from the nearest save point to a boss, and that's unacceptable with today's modern technology. - Some of the worst pacing I've ever seen. The first 1/3 of the game is fine, but after that, why do you only see like two minutes of plot for every five to six hours of gameplay?! - Unbalanced difficulty (see also: Elemental Spirits) - Haphazard Liscense Board layout (not to mention some of the crap they charge Liscense Points for is ridiculous... I have to use LP for ARMOR?! Are you kidding?!). - Limited use of Gambits for 3/4 of the game. I would either make all gambits available for free as soon as it's possible to use them, or just eliminate them altogether. It's still a pretty solid game overall though, and the fact that the core gameplay is fun helps a lot. I'd probably give it a 7/10.
I sadly do not own a PS3 or Xbox360, so not really ![]() That said, Lightning looks like an awesome (and yes, attractive) protagonist, and I'm curious as to what the battle system will be like.
Last chance to turn away from the Xenogears spoilers! Character: Probably... Kahran Ramsus from Xenogears. He's the most well crafted and TRUELY tragic villain I've ever seen (and not just for a video game), and his backstory made my jaw drop to the floor when I saw it. Plus he's a total badass in battle, and was the only character with both the power and guts to actively defy Krelian (whom I consider to be one of the most dispicable villains ever in a video game). End spoilers If you want someone a little less obscure, I'm also a huge Mega Man fan. :) Soundtrack: That's a tie between Skies of Arcadia and Chrono Trigger. DO NOT MAKE ME CHOOSE!!

Wow! Your opinion on FFXII basically mirrors my own, except my final score would be 6, due to the unacceptable blandness of the music, and the rather lacklustre ending. Oh, and Xenogears ftw, one of the few Square titles I would give a 10/10 to. And I would say Chrono Trigger soundtrack btw Anyway...more questions. What do you think of the compilation of FFVII? Where are you from, and what is your name? (you don't have to answer if you don't want to) What is your least favourite anime, and anime character?
Thankyou! Terra is win yus? |

I'm actually a huge fan of Dirge of Cerberus. Vincent and Yuffie were already among my favorite characters in FFVII itself, and DoC really gives them time to shine without contradicting too much of it's source material the way the other compilation games do. Plus, I actually like the gameplay, and feel the control scheme works great in the US version. And I play it with 100% manual controls, no lock on at all. That said, the game is short enough that I'm glad I only paid $19.99 for it. I was sorely disappointed that Rufus didn't show up, as he's the only gun-toting villain, and I've always thought a gunfight between him and either Vincent or Barret would be awesome. But those are minor complaints in an otherwise shockingly good game. I'd give it an 8/10. Maybe 8.5/10 if I'm in a good mood. As for Advent Children... it was ok. Some of the characters were spot on, like Cloud, Vincent, Yuffie, and Marlene. Others I felt were totally bastardized, like Aeris, Reno and Rufus. I also didn't like the new villains, Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz, and feel there were plenty of still-living villains that could've been better expanded upon as opposed to adding them (a complaint I also have with Dirge of Cerberus, though to a lesser extent since Hojo plays a major role). I didn't particularly like the seemingly endless barrage of action scenes in the second half either, and felt that Cloud shouldered TOO much of it (c'mon, he had to kill Bahamut, Kadaj, AND Sephiroth?! By himself?!). That said, the 1/3 or so of the movie that actually had plot was fairly well done. I'd give it a 7/10. Last Order sucked. Period. I haven't played the other expansions. As for how I feel about the compilation... I'd be a lot happier about it if DoC were the only other game to exist in the legitimate FFVII universe. As it stands, I feel all the non-DoC expansions take away from FFVII more than they add, and unless they try my idea in the "Next Compilation title?" topic, I sorta hope they stop. That said, I'm all for non-canonical cameos of the FFVII cast in other games like KH and Ehrgeiz ![]()
I'm from the United States, but that's about as much as I wanna say. Not so much because I'm bashful about giving that info out in itself so much as I don't want people to stereotype me based on where exactly I'm from, because I'm not like most people in my area. Heck, I'm a 25 year old guy who loves RPGs and the Clerith coupling, I doubt I'm like most people period ![]() As for my name... that's one thing I AM rather hesitant to give out. At least for now. I MIGHT consider giving out my first name once I've been here longer, get to know some of you better, am convinced that there's no one here from other forums I've frequented in the past, etc. Don't hold your breath though, you might be disappointed I'm sorry, I don't mean to be a jerk or anything, I'm just a tad overprotective, and there ARE a few individuals out there that, while they've not done me any personal harm, I sorta regret telling my name to, so I'm very cautious about this sorta thing now. ![]()
Least favorite anime... probably Blood, the Last Vampire the movie. It was just a 40 minute showcase of now-crappy CGI effects that I wasted $20 on. I also didn't care for this one ninja anime movie who's name escapes me. It had something to do with Oda Nobunaga and lesbians. The plot was incredibly cliche, and the English dubbing was among the worst I've ever heard in my life (ever played Star Ocean 2 or Chaos Wars? Yeah, it was THAT bad). As for anime character... are you asking for favorite or least favorite? Actually, it doesn't matter, you're getting both either way ![]() Favorite: Vash the Stampede. He's totally badass, is funny and seems like someone you'd love to know in real life, and I loved how he's forced to come to terms with his world outlook at the end of Trigun. It made him seem truly human, and was the sort of plot most Hollywood movies wouldn't have the guts to even dare attempt. Least favorite: Mitoko from Love Hina I actually love this anime, but Mitoko has so many qualities I dislike. She's sexist, cold-hearted, abusive (if in a comical sort of way), rude, and extremely closed-minded. Granted, I realize she's really more of an extreme caricature who's not meant to be taken THIS seriously since Love Hina is an over-the-top romantic comedy story, but all the same, I just didn't like her much at all. Whereas all the other Love Hina females were also rather extreme caricatures as well, but they were all still immensely likable by comparison.
Er... Isn't that supposed to be Beatrix from Final Fantasy IX? ![]() EDIT: Is there ANY way around the double-posting block, or should I just edit posts when this happens in the future? |

OMFG! *slaps self* I changed it, then forgot about it, I had Amano art of Terra and my new one wasn't showing up! Anyway, Beatrix is even more awesome! I agree with you about DOC, it's not terrible and I prefer it to the over-hyped Crisis Core. Did you like FFIX? I think it is rather underrated personally! Ugh, Blood is fail, I watched it on YT and thought it was trash. Right now I am addicted to Cowboy Bebop, do you watch that? Don't worry about the name thing btw, I am not the most sharing person on the net either.

Ok, I'll do that from now on then ![]()
Oh geez, that's way too much to choose from XD It depends on my mood honestly. Right now, two games that come to mind are Metal Gear Solid 2 and Portal. And you have no idea how sad I am that MGS4 is exclusively on the one current gen console I'm positive I'll never own Also, I see from Vixie's profile that she loves Silent Hill, so I'll throw in that I consider Silent Hill 2 to be objectively one of the absolute greatest games ever made. Most horror movies wish they had a plot as good as Silent Hill 2.
To keep this simple, I'm only going to consider characters from RPGs. That said, my choice is... Ryudo from Grandia II. He's a jerk, arrogant, rude, sexist, tactless, cold-hearted, hot-headed and just plain unlikable. Sorta like Mitoko from Love Hina, only he doesn't have the "This is supposed to be a light-hearted comedy" excuse. I actually would've been sorta happy when Melfice beat the snot outta him if Ryudo hadn't been accompanied by characters I liked at the time that also got owned @_@
Nope. I love the two movies though, so if I were to get into manga, that'd be a good candidate for me to try.
It's pretty good. It's got some minor problems, which include: - I really didn't like some of the characters, like Zidane, Steiner, and Amarant. Vivi and Beatrix almost make up for this though! - Slooooow battles that give the bad guys an edge! - I absolutely HATE the final boss for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who finishes the game. That said, it's still a solid game, if perhaps one I don't have quite as much attachment to as some of the other FFs. I'd give it a 7.5 or 8/10
I've only seen one episode, but it was quite good, and I'd consider getting the box set if I had a lot of time AND money to blow over a few days or something. EDIT: BTW, I appologize that my posts are so long @_@ I enjoy typing/writing, and like to be as thorough as possible when answering questions. If I need to trim things down a bit, let me know! |

Wow, I have a PS3 and Wii, but I would never waste my money on an Xbox 360. Both Xbox and PS3 are getting practically the same games anyway, and I'm not a fan of Halo. Also, I LOVE Silent Hill 2, and Cowboy Bebop is an amazing anime. I usually hate anime, but that one blew the rest away. And the Vampire Hunter D manga is just one book per novel. They only have two of them out right now and each are just based on the novels. There's no collecting of a million books (which I love since I hate most manga too D: ). But anyway... Do you play Zelda games? Favorite food? Favorite desert? ![]() Also, don't worry about long posts. There aren't enough around here in my opinion. |

I actually hate Microsoft's approach to gaming, and the Red Ring of Death, among other technical problems, keeps me from biting the bullet on this one. So don't worry, it's not very likely that I'll get an Xbox360 either. That said, it's library is shaping up VERY nicely, and I would LOVE to play Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey (not to mention FFXIII when it comes out). Too bad it's on such crappy hardware.
YES! My favorite is Link to the Past. Objectively, I think Twilight Princess is the most well made game in the series. And I LOVE Wind Waker's plot and cel-shading. I'm probably going to regret saying this... but I also think Ocarina of Time is one of the most overrated games ever made. Not bad mind you, but definately overrated ![]() Zelda games I've beaten: Legend of Zelda Zelda II: The Adventure of Link Link to the Past Link's Awakening Ocarina of Time Wind Waker Minish Cap Twilight Princess

I have a terrible weakness for vanilla ice cream if it gets mixed with oreo cookies or hot fudge brownies. Rocky Road and plain Strawberry ice cream are up there too.

I love you. Srsly! I'm never leaving you alone. I love Zelda, and OOT is an amazing game, but I have the same problem with some OOT fans as I do with some FFVII fans in that they think that their favourite is the be all and end all of the series. Not so. A Link to the Past, Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are exceptional IMO. Did you like the sailing in Wind Waker? People bash it for that a lot! What is your favourite minor character in a Zelda game? Silent Hill is awesome, and SH2 is a very twisted piece of work, but have you seen the film Silent Hill? If so, what did you think of it? And do you like the Resident Evil games? Gawd, I hardly ever ask people any questions, never this many
