1984, a summary: BIG BROTHER, OFFICE SPACE, pornpornporn, BRAINWASHING. ![]() ANYWAY. EDWARD. He sparkles. And honestly, I'm pretty sure I've stated this before, but the Romeo comparison is apt. They can both get pretty creepy and crazy at times. 8] |

Exactly. My love for HP has diminshed quite a bit ever since the release of the final 2 books, but they are still not trash books. You can't compare HP with something like Crime and Punishment- the books were written for different purposes and with different skills. What about fantasy novels like The Chronicals of Narnia? Those are read by adults, and they are classified as children's literature. Does that make them inferior to adult novels? Personally I'd rather read them than some of the books considered great works of literature. Or what about Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising Sequence? They are YA/children's books but they are incredibly well written with so much depth in them that adults can appreciate them as well. I read in Children's, YA and adult fiction and I've read classic works of literature- Shakespeare, Lord of the Flies, Crime and Punishment, To Kill a Mockingbird- and I enjoy them all. There's no reason to say that one is better than another or that a person should discard one once they reach a certain age. I'm sure as hell not going to stop reading YA just because I'm moving past that particular age group. ..... But anyway, I believe I should be bowing myself out now, as I don't really belong in here. Have fun bashing gaiz! Discuss books with me elsewhere, yesh?

AHAHA 1984. We had to read banned books for IR in school, and some group did that, and the concept of Big Brother....Ahaha. I was wtfing. They did a hilarious trailer though, that made it really awesome. Because there's this one guy in my class who always looks stoned, and he played the main guy, and when his girlfriend gets kidnapped or whatever he did this HILARIOUSLY CHEESY-ON-PURPOSE "o" mouth of surprise at the zoomed-in camera that was perfect. Funniest. Thing. Ever. And, while we're on the subject of awful books, my group read Picture of Dorian Gray. It made us all laugh at least. D:I don't think I'd call it HORRENDOUSKJFHJHFDJ but it certainly wasn't amazingly enjoyable. xD |

I like Catcher in the Rye. Personally, classics bore me. The tiny tiny text and the insanely long paragraphs make me lose my place, haha. I've only ever read a few, and figured I like children's books better. omg, that makes me silly and young, doesn't it? D:ANYWAY, TWILIGHT. Agh, I'm getting sad---now I notice a lot of girls in my school reading the book. .__. Black and bloody covers everywhere AAAGH. EDIT: Nah, Romeo's better. At least he didn't watch Juliet while she slept. And lolhay, he wasn't cheesy. |

xD I do think Romeo was a little over the top in his sudden love for Juliet, but I will still adore Romeo and Juliet forever. One of my childhood favorites, and plus you must always love how every school play in books/cartoons/ etc. seems to be Romeo and Juliet, thus main characters get together. Btw, haven't read more Twilight yet, but pretty sure I'll read the whole damn thing because I'm a masochist who has to finish a book I start. But it's seriously painful. Every time I think I've seen something boring or ridiculous, something more so comes along. |

If someone writes badfic that is on par with, or slightly above, the quality of writing in Twilight itself, is it still badfic?

Yes, but for every badfic, there are plenty to squee over it, thus making it sound better than it is. xD |

Eyes of dream-water

So, I actually started reading it. And I'm sad, cuz I actually kinda enjoyed the first couple of pages, but I know that when the vampires start coming in it's gonna get ridiculous. Also, WHY is it that Bella has to move across the country to a place she hates? Heeheehee, my friend Dave almost clubbed me with the book when I made a joke about one of the vampires from our role playing sparkling. It's a thick book! |

*poofs in to answer Sefie's question* She moved to Forks because her mother's boyfriend/husband (I can't remember which) is a baseball player and travels all over. Her mother wants to travel with him but doesn't because of Bella. Bella sees how miserable her mom is so she decides to move to Forks to live with her dad so her mom can travel with her boyfriend. *poofs back out*
