AHAHHA, Anti--that link is priceless! XD You know, that description you gave of what becomes of Karai in the new toon can easily describe what happened to Lotus Blossom (and yes, PMS to the nth degree as they came closer to their exit from the storyline). X_X |

*bounces in* Can't poof in for a visit to the forum without visiting my favourite fanclub! XD Hopefully these aren't too old to reply to. But regarding the canon, I agree with Anti that you should just pick one canon and stick to it (or mishmash them into your own canon, which seems to be the choice of most TMNT authors). There's too much conflict between all the different mediums, it's like FF/KH all over again. XD
In the new toon, Leo got his ass kicked after their first encounter with the Shredder. After the water tower fell on Shredder, we go several episodes without him, and the Shredder returns in all his Naruto-like-music-glory by beating the tar outta Leo while the latter was out on a run. It ends with Leo getting thrown into April's shop/house, there's a big fight that Casey also enters, and everyone escapes a gas explosion to shelter at Casey's grandmother's (mother's?) barn. (The turtles were staying at Aprils because, IIRC, their lair was invaded or something like that.) I'd say the first and fourth movies are probably closer to the 'feel' of the comics. I've never read the comics myself, but that's what I've heard. But as for canon accuracy, even the hallowed first movie changed certain parts (Raph got his butt kicked by the Foot instead of original Leo, and I think something about the Don/Casey bit was changed too). In the new toon, there's one scene where angst!Leo's standing by a river and April talks to him, which I've heard was originally Raph angsting about their destined oblivion as a species. As for figuring out what happens, I just use the 2003 episode list from Wikipedia. But I've got the comp with me for once, so I might just
I liked Leo with a temper (it totally gave Raph a chance to show his more level-headed side), but I think they dragged it out too long. PMS!Leo feels like something I can only handle in small bites, not a whole season. :mellow:Leo bullied Mikey, though?! Argh! *thwaps him* Bad eldest! >O I must find this ep! I remember watching the Grudge Match ep where Mike has to defend his title, and it made me insides all gushy that Leo was the one to help him train. Loved his episode with the Rat King, though. Not only did it has a kick-ass fight scene, but anything that shows Raph understands Leo is an instant win with me. ![]() And yeah, wished Karai would stop screaming the turtles' demise. It's just so... not elegant. XD;;;
Ha! No worries, Alantie! I just stay away from pairings I dislike, I don't tar the heck outta their supporters. As for me, I guess it's because I feel, if I changed Karai to a guy, the Leo/male!Karai dynamic wouldn't change from what it presently is. So it just feels too platonic for me to look at their scenes romantically. (Unless Leo was into slash... ... ...)Plus, like the Karai/Chaplin pairing, it feels a bit--convenient? This club has reminded me, I'll need to keep an eye out for the DVD now! BONUS SCENES BONUS SCENES. |

Lynn!!! *glomps*
Oh yes. The fact that it took Leo that long is annoying. Then again, I did LOL with Raph's "butt kicking therapy" suggestion. Would like one. Unfortunately, the other three Turtles took a back seat, with Leo angsting over his Issue. Almost the majority of the season was about him, with everybody else cringing. Which, IMHO, gets boring. I dunno why that character arc drag out so long. Aang from Avatar also went into an emotional bomb mode, but that lasted for a couple of episodes. So I guess I'll watch the clips of the movie again. XD Movie!Leo's the best, though.
I remember watching the Lost Season in YouTube. Considering that Chaplin is nowhere to be found in season 4, I thought he's finally let go. Imagine my surprise that he looked... different when he did appear. He really let himself go, huh? You know that hate of mine to Raph and Ninjara? Well, that's the level of contempt I have for the Karai and Chaplin. May that guy never spawn in the movie series. Single!Karai for the win! EDIT: Awwww~! http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/557638...h+age_scale%3A5 |

That pic...! *is all squishymushy inside* I have to echo you with another "Awww!" ![]() Karai/Chaplin seems to be for the express purpose of throwing water onto Leo/Karai-- I can't think of any other reason why the writers would put them together ![]() Ah, well. Movie!version TMNT ftw. Perhaps writers just have less time in a movie to screw over a character. XD And I've played the video game for it! I never play these platforming-type games but a fangirl's dedication knows no bounds, so I stiffened my upper lip and started the game. OMG, I'm so bad, I spent over an hour trying to get over ONE jump in the Ninja Tag sequence. I cannot gauge distance for the life of me. @_@Anyway, love it! The banter and VAs totally make this game worth playing. So far my favourite sequence is Ninja Tag, with Leo and Raph shoving each other and Mike and Donny waaaaaay ahead. ![]() Wah, Raph scolds you when you kill him. T_T "Look what you made me doooooooo~ *SPLAT*" I wish part of the bonus goodies was the option to watch the transition, comic book scenes. Though the "behind-the-scenes" bits were hilarious-- got the one where one of the turtles (I'm betting Mikey :P) put his head into the monster's mouth-- and it got bit off! XDDD |

Good luck with the game, Lynn. XD But it was fun during their "commentaries". Mike and Don's at the Cowabunga Carl stage goes special mention. Aw man, the word "shoving" is giving me a mental image. Darnit *scrubs brain*. |

Anyone got the DVD yet? ![]() It's out in Singapore already, although I'm worried that I might not be able to play it if it's one of those double-sided discs things. As far as content goes, the deleted scenes have been reportedly Awesome. Sadly, they have also been reportedly Kinda Little (I think it's only the cake and Cowabunga Carl scenes that were fully voiced; there's a semi-complete early version of the Raph/Leo fight, an alternate opening with Mako narrating and a special scene for Casey/April). And speaking of voices, you CAN'T turn off the director commentary, for some reason. Just a warning. (BTW Anti, if you really can't get the DVD anytime soon where you are, just lemme know and I'll help you buy it from Singapore. ^_^) |

I have the DVD, and it amuses me greatly--and I lament that I cannot turn off the director's commentary on the extra scenes. If only it were like Harry Potter. ;-; However, the dvd reinforces what I thought when I saw the film in theaters--I want the real April O'Neil back, plz. This whole TMNT/Buffy crossover is quite a bit jarring, considering I thought April was cool enough as a news reporter. |
