Well glad you guys watched the movie then. XD Yeah how Winters get the other monsters was a little too quick, but maybe it's to prove how efficient the Foot moves on tracking them down. And it did took awhile. See the difference in April and Casey's place in the start (where it's full of boxes) to a really nice living room? PS. Man, everyone loves Leo... |

I think Leo reels 'em in cause he's...well...the Alpha Turtle Male, so to speak. Don reminds one of geeks, Raph's temper would scare some people, Mikey is too childish, so Leo reels in all the women. When 'Venus'...a female turtle they randomly added later entered the show, she seemed to bond with Leo the most. Also, her headband was a different shade of blue. |

Don is my second fave turtle, I think...Mikey third, and Raph last, only because Raph gets so mean sometimes...it's scary! So yes, I'm a Donnie fan. If it makes you feel better, Don was my brother's favorite turtle growing up. I was a huge Donnie fan when I was around 7 years old...his Bo Staff was just the coolest. As I got older Leo started to rub off on me more and more! So...yes, Leo's my fave, and Don's in a close second. |

While we're on the topic of favourite turtles, for me, it's always been Leo... and followed by Raph/Don/Mikey, depending on the episode/mood/etc. (I can't arrange them! If I do, the arrangement totally switches by the next episode/movie!)
From what I've seen, Raphael is the most popular turtle online (among the guys AND girls... and trust me, he's got quite a female following O_O). On character polls, Raph's always light-years ahead of the other turtles. I know he has fans for a lot of good reasons, but others seem to flock to him just because he's "the rebel", "the Batman/Wolverine" of the group etc. So you guys pleasantly surprised me. ![]() Raph's usually my second-favourite turtle. But I keep wanting to protect underdog!Leo from all the "zomg Raph PWNED Leo!11!1", so I end up arguing against him. Reminds me a bit of Aerith vs. Tifa (HAH, another FFVII ref!).Though Raph definitely has a temper. But the anger stems a lot from knowing they're mutants, and would never be accepted into normal society (plus, of course, his friction with Leo, which is a whole 'nother ballgame)... though we don't see that in this movie... but I think Raph, out of all his brothers, is the one turtle who's aware how much they miss out by being different and it ticks the hell outta him. Still, though, he's an inherently funny character despite his emoness. His lines in the movie were And I did pity him in a certain cartoon episode.
It's like my love for Tomo (Fushigi Yuugi). Everyone else hates him, so I keep him for myself. ^o^b
Yep, it definitely had to take a few days. Although the movie made it look like it happened in one night, since Raph walking out of the dojo -> Generals capture monsters -> Raph finding Casey. Speaking of which, apparently some of the monsters are based on urban legends! The most popular one thus far is the Jersey Devil, which fights Raph in the diner. I loved that fight. "You're scratching my helmet!" while the JD pummels Raph's head with the fridge door. ![]()
*sets up time-share for Leo* ![]() One thing's for sure, I wish we'd gotten a clear scene of Leo kicking ass with the five swords. I think I was spoiled by AC!Cloud. D: Fanart! TMNT: Bedtime (YOU MUST CLICK THIS. FOR IT IS TEH CUTE. CLICK CLICK CLICK!) CGI Group Shots: 1, 2, 3 |

Omg! Lynn's lovin' the turtles like no other! I foresee a boom in turtle population...Though quite possibly my favourite TMNT fanart has to be the humanified!version. http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/3369/mannz8.png Bishie-fied Leo will forever win my heart, even if his smexxy turtle self is inter-species unbelievably smexxy. ![]()
Seriously, WHY did they make Leo and Don so unbelievably awesome?! Mickey and Ralph paled in comparison in my eyes. <33 *steals a bit of Don from Anti*
He's my brother's fav turtle as well. I think it's the whole double-handed dagger thing. The mental image of Raphael tearing a pizza off one of those blades is enough to make every turtle-luvin' sweetie weak at the knees.
What I didn't understand the most was the whole Ralph friction issue after Leo left. If he resented Leo leaving so much, why did he put on the whole tough guy image when Leo came back? Obviously he knows Splinter sent Leo out for training, so I don't see why he would be mad at Leo for 'leaving'. Or am I missing something? LEO'S BISHIENESS BLINDS ME TO EVERYTHING ELSE WHEN HE IS ONSCREEN INCLUDING THE STORY!
I'm surprised at how the devil was caught, because as far as I could see, Ralph certainly didn't manage to catch the devil, and the next thing we know, the devil's in one of them cages. Wha...? |

Human Don doesn't look geeky enough. 0.o; I love how Mikey was grinning openly in the CG group shots.
The only urban legend I know are the White Ladies/Sadako. >.<
I guess he wants Leo to win back his good graces the hard way. Remember, Leo uh, overstayed his pilgrimage. He was supposed to come back a year earlier. So when Donnie and Mikey welcomed him back with open arms, Raph was resentful... it was bad enough that him being the Nightwatcher didn't give him points (Don doesn't like him, and so did Leo later). He's doing the independence thing, I don't think he's willing to give it up when Leo returned.
The Foot apparently captured it later. BTW, what are your favorite lines in the movie? Mine is... Leo: I don't understand why we have to bring along Raph! His temper always jeopardize our missions! *storms off* Don: Yeah, Leo, whatever you say. Nobody's talking about him or anything... It was so random and out of the blue. XD |

Hmmm. In that human pic, Raphael looks remarkably like Seifer. Leo's kinda got the Heero Yui thing going on, Michaelangelo looks sad, when he should be grinning, and Donatello...should really wear glasses in human form. |

Made even more awesome by the fact that the diner guy was actually voiced by Jersey director Kevin Smith. Awesome! AND LYNN THAT PIC WAS SO KAWAII!! Realistic! Leo and Papa Splinter for the win XD Actually I'm not surprised that Raph was so popular. He is the rebel, and Leo's kind of like the 'by the book', 'always follows the rules' type of guy (almost like a really really cool Percy Weasley) but I LOVE that guy! Why oh why must most people choose the rebel over the responsible one?
LOL when you said this, yin, I pictured you tearing off Donny's arm and rubbing your cheek against it gleefully lol *am crazy* AND OH MY GOD THE HUMAN TURTLES!!! WHY IS LEO SO HOT? WRRY???1!1!!! He's like a bish to end all bishies XD <3 <3 <3 <3 *squees and dies* Everyone of them looks awesome but Leo's human pic just takes the cake. Okay now I wanna write a 'day in the life' + 'turtles turn human' fic like NOW. Blasted school. Mark my words I WILL do it. But it'll probably run off of the movie universe since I don't know the comics as well. Actually which do you guys prefer, the movie or comic continuity? Or hell, the cartoons too? Though I think non of the cartoon series are really connected with each other. Which medium would you rank the highest?
I agree with Anti-R's answer! I also think that Ralph just has a hard time expressing himself. We can see this when he tried to confess what he did to Splinter and instead knocked some shit over I think that inside he may want to tell Leo how bad his leaving hurt him but couldn't, and so he expressed himself the only way he knew how - through aggression.Actually that is kind of hot :o BUT I'LL NEVER BETRAY LEO! NEVER!!! NEVER!!!!!! *cough* Oh and my favourite line: Don: NO I'm not playing hard to get, I'm telling you ma'am it's not that kind of phone line! ... And then Anti-R drops the phone! *is shot and killed*

Must. Kill. Nyrin. And yin. *chainsaws*
I kind of stopped going after the comic series. If I have to choose spending money between videogames and comics, I go after videogames. So I'm in the dark where the Turtles go in that medium. I love the 80s cartoon and the old live action movies, but that was back when I was 9. I remember seeing it again when I was in highschool, the movies I mean, and I realize that I can't be swept up to it again. The jokes were corny, it was kind of juvenile and what have you (though the Leo/Raph thing in the first movie is touching). Yeah, I deserved to be shot by this. The new cartoon, I watch it with slight fascination. Maybe I'm just close-minded, but I see no fun with the Turtles fighting alien Triceratops wielding laser blasters in outer space. I've heard Peter Laird likes sci-fi, and it IS his baby... but... y'know, I might've dug this weirdness if I was younger. And I felt the Turtles here are too far removed... they're mutant ninjas in an urban jungle of concrete , why are they walking in Central Park midday where people can see them?!? *face to palm* And they tortured Donatello in this version!!! GRAHH!!! *bites those animation team's heads off* There're FOUR of them, for Pete's sake! Choose someone else for that mutated giant monster thing! *takes deep breath and watch Leo's katas* ![]() So when the new movie was announced... I was... uninspired. It wasn't until Lynn and nyrin said that it's good, I felt a stirring of hope. And they're right. The new movie is the rebirth of my inner turtle fan. I realize in horror that I didn't got over TMNT at ALL, and that it was buried deep within my fangirl heart, waiting to be rescued. I found out that I still love these four Turtles and their talking Ninja Rat Sensei, even when I no longer gave thought to them after all these years. So kudos, Kevin Munroe, for making me fall to the dark side again. Wonder if anyone will make a kickass Sailormoon, also one of my favorites that died as the years go by. So yeah, this movie is the best incarnation. The 80's cartoon (even though it's bad in today's standards) has a special place in my heart, comes in second. |

http://www.voote.com/jsp/WAppServerPage.js...S01&VoteID=1871 Fascinating, isn't it? So far, it turns out Michaelangelo, not Raphael or Leonardo...(and not Donatello) is the most popular turtle. Mike leads Leo by 4 votes. |

Goooo Mikey! I heard Mikey had the hugest following from the 80s cartoon. Because he's such a fun-loving turtle, he appealed to the kids the most, and apparently all the merchandise and adverts of the 80s cartoon featured him very heavily. If those same kids grew up continuing to love Mikey well into their adulthood, little wonder he's leading the polls. Not that Mikey is unlikeable in the movie, of course. I found him so sweet! Catch how he's trying to get Splinter to eat the birthday cake slices (when April calls the turtles about Raph)! And of course, he utters one of my favourite lines: "I have nightmares about birthday parties..." ![]()
Oh, gah, I've complained about that! It reminds me of one of my rants a while back, how fandoms see a perfectly nice character as being "flat", as if you need to be the in-your-face emo wanker to have any "depth". Huh, and here I go with another FFVII ref. XD But it's just like how Aerith is seen as "shallow" just because she's generally portrayed as a cheerful girl. Raph IS a deep character, but I wish the movie writers would stop shafting the other three in his favour. And thanks, I love that fanart too! Typical of Leo to stay close to Splinter (OMG TURTLE TOTS ARE ADORABLE), and Splinter has one eye open, as if checking on him. <333
Because Raph's a teddy bear wrapped in spikes. I don't think Raph's ever been the kind to show sincere joy with his brothers unless it's in extreme cases (like when he helps drugged-out!Leo from the cage, and treated him so tenderly there ). Raph's also got a long drawn-out rivalry with Leo about being the leader of the team since the first movie, so that Complicates Matters. Also, what Anti said. I never thought of that! Here, Raph's been picking up the slack, as he sees it, by moonlighting as the Nightwatcher through the night. He gets picked on it by the public AND Donny, and he probably thinks Mikey's only a Nightwatcher fanboy for shallow reasons. But Leo comes back after a year of silence, and he's welcomed back by the family with open arms. No wonder Raph's pissed as hell. ![]() I think he took Leo's absence more personally (Leo stayed away for an extra year AND cut off communication) because... because Raph's sensitive. Yeah. *will not go into other reasons that could break brains, yin-chan imma looking at j00* So it takes a lot more on Leo's part to regain Raph's trust, compared to Mikey and Don. As for the Jersey Devil, the Generals caught it after Raph left the diner. You can see the little bugger being held under the other arm of the General who had Leo slung over his shoulder... ... Okay, that just reminded me of when Hercules slung Cloud over his shoulder. XD
Oh, gee, why would there be a population boom? And I love that fanart! Humanised!turtles FTW! Props to Alex-- Heero Yui Expression was also the first thing I thought of with Leo's pic. Gotta love how the HAIR shows so much personality. Here's another version-- same guys but with different poses.
I did a double-take when Leo said that line. "Huh? Did I miss something? But I was paying attention to Donnyyyy~" It was perfect. XD My Leo fangirl wants to jump up and claim "Come to daddy" as her favourite line, but overall? As a, ahem, completely objective viewer who is an equal fan of all four turtles? It's a toss-up between Donny's tech-help line and Raph's, while he's listening to Leo nag as the Nightwatcher: "Is he kiddin'... He's lecturing me!" *diesdiesdies* Oh, Leo, you just launched into auto-nag right there, didn't you? XDDD
I don't read the comics and barely remember the early movies, so I can only legitimately compare the 80s cartoon, 2003 cartoon and this movie. I like the 2003 cartoon better than the 80s toon, which I always treated as just some good fun, not much more. 2003 toon put a lot of emphasis on Leo and Don, who I felt were the two more shafted turtles, and especially broke Leo outta his goody-goody/perfect-boring-leader stereotype that turtle fans have of him. It goes closer to his original comic identity, who has issues about his confidence, ability to lead, perfectionism etc. (Leo even goes through an extra-angsty phase in Season 4-- even RAPH called him a hothead then!). He's still the leader but with more noticeable flaws than 80s!Leo. Raph and Mikey got less episodes centred on them, but I see it as a trade-off since Raph got tons of time in the movies and Mikey dominated the 80s cartoon. Don is apparently also getting tons of screentime in the comics. 2003 toon also WINS for keeping Leo as the turtle Shredder attacked with his legions of Foot Ninja. I was pissed that Movie 1 switched it to Raph. -_- I don't mind the sci-fi feel, I guess, though I wish they had more ninja-themed storylines... though there is the issue of honour and vengeance underlying everything. I do like that the cartoon had huge storyline arcs. One-shots are fine but single eps don't make me invest as much emotionally as multi-ep arcs. I love cliffies as much as I groan at them. XD TMNT the movie is hard to compare to the cartoon--I think they did the best they could in 80 minutes, compared to a 4-season cartoon. One thing's for sure, though: TMNT has my favourite version of the turtles. I love how lithe and sleek they all look, like teh realz ninjas!
Ohhhh, I watched that! Oh, poor Don! It was cruelly ironic: the most intelligent turtle being turned into Gameradon! T______T 'Course, evil writers did it on purpose--if it had been another turtle transformed, I have a feeling they felt Donny would've found a cure. Thus, no need for infiltrating Foot HQ, thus no crystal-stealing, thus no preparation for the next story arc. Do you remember the end? Don came out without his mask or pads. He looked so... naked. XD On the bright side, Donny seemed to be closest to all the female supporting characters in the 2003 toon. He's quite the playa'. >D
Just had to quote that again. ![]() .... *stares at MS Word tab on her laptop* Oh, right, work. |

Actually, movie one shafted Leonardo even more then you originally thought. Remember how there was a song called 'T U R T L E Power?' One of the lines go, "Leonardo, Michaelangelo, and Donatello, make up the team with one other fellow Raphael, he's the leader of the group...transformed by the nuclear goop..." ...Raph is NOT THE GODDAMN LEADER. At least the 80's cartoon went 'Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines, Raphael is cool but rude, Michaelangelo is a party dude.' |

OMG. It said that?! It said THAT? W. T. F? *explodes* ...And this is why I love TMNT 4 so. *thinks* Aw man, I must really come off anti-Raph. I love him to bits, he's just been used so much in so many mediums, it was becoming Raphael and The Other Three Whatchamacallits. I don't want his character ruined from over-pimping. ![]() I like what someone posted elsewhere: "If I'd seen Movie 1 Raph when I was younger, he might've been my favourite turtle." The huge appeal about Raph is that he's so angry, doesn't answer to anyone (theoretically, anyway... Leo's head is still attached to his body, so I'd say Raph isn't such a stubborn hardass he's exalted to be), does his own thing--and which teenager doesn't want to be that character? ... Donatello does machines. ![]() *avoids flying bo staffs* |
