I didn't go to school today, cause my friend Wade drowned in the lake, exaclly were my other friend Josh died. I'm very saddened, but I know you are all going to think, I'm crazy, but I was looking up History about the lake, and it used to be an Indian Burial Ground for the dead awhile back. So, I know this sounds stupid, but do you think maybe, the Indians are haunting the waters? Cause, the water's aren't that deep, and his friends said he was swimming fine, then he started screaming something and he sank. And then with my other friend Josh, he was in a boat and a wave came out of nowhere and capsized the boat and killed him instantly So, yeah this is a crazy topic, but at least everyday at the lake someone goes into the waters and never returns.
(sorry for all the typo's, but I'm very upset )

I'm so sorry about your friends, Freya. As for ghosts, I guess I believe they exist... My stance is the "better safe than sorry" type. So even if they don't exist, nothing hurts to be a little bit careful. |

That's an interesting story Freya. Im really sorry about your friends. Its kinda of creepy when you think about it. I don't know much(but the information you gave)about this lake, but I think there is a chance it could be haunted. |

Thank you guys and I don't know much, but I know it was an Burial Ground way back like in the 1600's - the 1800's and then it turned into a lake, cause of a flood of a river near by.
I do believe in ghosts, cause I see them so, I do think something is wrong with that lake, and I want to se if I can go to a real live Psycic and see.

First off, I'm sorry about your friends. Secondly--as far as I have experienced, the spirits of the dead do not have the ability to touch the living unless they are given strength by the living soul they are attempting to make contact with. They'd have to have some MASSIVE energy to tap into to manage taking the life of someone. =\ I suppose the possibility of poltergeists is not out of the question, but I'd really have to know more on the history of the area. Sorry, I'm not much help here. ;_; |

Just a Nobody

I'm very sorry for your friends Freya, I hope that they have found a better life ![]() Now, I do believe in ghosts. You find it silly but this "ghost" has appeared a couple of times in my house. I've lived here about eight year now and we've encountered this spirit three times. Its an image of a young woman, probably in her early 20s walking down the stairs that leads to my front door. My father encountered her about three months after we moved in, going to the toilet in the early hours of the morning. Then my mother had the same thing happen to her, about a year after we moved in. Then two years later, the same thing happened with me, I was in the house myself that night as my brother was at his friend's house and my mother and father were away out that night. Now the thing is, I was going to close the curtain at the top of my stairs which we do every night, and I encountered this "woman", she was just simply walking down the stairs. But the thing is, my pet cat was there aswell and he was growling, fixed upon the stairs and he stopped right when she disappeared. That was about six years ago, we have never encountered her again but it made me believe in ghosts ever since. |

I'm so sorry, Freya. I believe they exist, except I'm really-freaking-super-scared of them. More on my imagination rather than them. It's better to stay away from them, though, and better to be safe then sorry, as Lynn said. But wouldn't the lake be off-limits then? Considering the amount of deaths? And I though poltergeists only messed with people, not really killed them.

There was 4 other boy's in that boat, It was Josh(one that died at christmas) Wade(one that died sunday) Drew John So, I know this sound completely crazy, but Wade was on that boat to so maybe their like going down a list on who was on that boat that day. I'm not really sure, but I'm like getting confused. |

I too am sorry for your losses Freya. As for ghosts I think they exist and I believe that some would be kind and caring and some violent and angry. And with the background of the lake it is natural to wonder if something supernatural had something to do with it. As for me however the closest thing I can write about as far as an encounter was from when I was a freshman in college. My friends and I decided to go to a graveyard late a night.(Yeah I know, brilliant) We brought some flashlights and proceeded into the cemetary. I have to say I got the weirdest feeling and it wasn't just fear. I can't describe it really but the feeling that I had was screaming to me that we shouldn't be there. Then my friend's flashlight went out and we started to get scared but stayed and were going to press on until the flashlight I was holding went out too. That was enough for all of us and we took off and left the area. A few moments later I tried the flashlight again after we were off the premises and it came right back on. We flipped out. Needless to say I will never go to a cemetary late at night ever again.

Like I said, it depends on how much power they have behind them, and how angry the spirit. It's kinda complicated. X_X |

Sorry about your friends. I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts or not. This Burial Ground though...for what reason do you think the Native Americans would have for doing these sorts of things? Maybe because burial grounds are considered very sacred? I think it's time someone went to the city/state representatives and got the lake closed. If there have already been 4 deaths, that's about rediculous... Is it a small lake? If so I'd definately see if it could be closed from the public. |
