OHH!! i like the episode where hitomi and ... GAH! i cant remember his name, allen i think, guy with long blonde hair, they are both on a bridge, its raining, something is controlling allen and vaan sees them together, i think its the episode where vaan realizes he has feelings for hitomi! :3

ALLEN! *stabs* That episode makes me cry- it's so sad!!! I actually think Van started to fall for Hitomi a lot earlier, but you can so tell from that poor puppy dog face how devistated he is. It just made me want to slap Hitomi silly for making him so sad!

I think that Van realized how much Hitomi meant to him earlier- remember that episode where her heart stops and Van gives her CPR? The look of relief on his face when Millerna tells him she's going to be ok? And then there's that part before the battle with Zaibach where Duke Fried dies. Hitomi comes to talk with Van, and he says, "Hitomi, I don't know if I-" and then just trails off before running away. XD Can't get the words out, can he? I think when he sees Allen and Hitomi together he realizes what he feels for her is love. . . But yes, the end of the series made me so upset. I cried I was so angry.  It is very Clerithy.

YOU GUYS NOTICED THE CLERITH TOO!???? how i got into escaflowne was actually when i opened up animemax and they were showing the episode where Hitomi and Allen were together on that bridge thing and Van sees them together and bla bla.. and it really caught my attention then i watched the next episode the wedding.. and i knew i had to watch the anime... not to mention the opening theme.. i loved that opening theme!

The opening is awesome. XD I love it to bits. I have the full version of it.  It is seriously one of the best anime out there, hands down.  And yes, Escaflowne is full of Clerith parallels. Van is the sulky/angsty withdrawn sword weilding hero (Cloud) and Hitomi is the cheerful, perky seer(white magish) heroine (Aerith).Lute:
