Thanks for sharing your thoughts, guys. I find it difficult to believe that an American government could do something like this to their own people, but I have to admit, after watching it...it gave me something to think about. Oh, and thank you so much for providing those links, Sadhana.

I was in 8th grade when it happened. In science class, when some garbled announcement came over the loudspeaker. I caught the words "plane" and "world trade center" but my principal usually abused the loudspeaker so I thought it was some weird joke. Then, of course, it wasn't, and we all filed into the auditorium and tried to contact our parents. It was weird yesterday. I took the WTC train, and it was so empty. Even moreso than usual. There were only about 2 people in a car. It's just a weird feeling. However, I hate what 9/11 has done to this country. I hate that now it's okay for people to start replacing their freedom for security. I don't believe in that. You can never have it both ways; for freedom, you must sacrifice some security. For absolute security, you must give up your freedom. Seeing men with rifles and shotguns in the train station does NOT make me feel safe. |

Sadhana, I'm afraid you still misunderstood what I was trying to say that day. I would never want you not to put what you felt about ths subject (I really like reading your posts) I was just hoping we could postpone the inevitable comments about the Bush Administration until the day after Sept. 11th. Keeping it about how you felt then and talkng about the victims and heroes of that day. By all means feel free to say anything you want, the anniversary is over and if you want to go into some discussions on hwere we are and what the administration should do now I am all for it.
