well i have recently just found out that the crocodile hunter has just past away. LOL i can still hear his 'Crikey' and 'aint she a beauty' remarks after each encounter with a dangerous animal/reptile lol. It still seems so unreal that he is gone because to me he was strong! well n e ways rest in peace!

I wasn't mauch of a fan but he did make me laugh! well for those who dont know him, he is well known as the crocodile hunter from Australia

From Msn.com, one of the top stories at the moment.

Quote:

CAIRNS, Australia - Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the “Crocodile Hunter,” was killed Monday by a stingray while filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.

Irwin was killed by a stingray barb to the heart on Batt Reef, off the remote resort town of Port Douglas in northeastern Queensland state, his wildlife park Australia Zoo said in a statement.

Crew members aboard Irwin’s boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead a short time later, the statement said.

alot of people didn't like him because of that baby incident, and i dont know if this is the area where to post this!

I just thought i'll post it because i thought he was cool, and i know some of you may nit know him or care but hey :)!!!! smile !! well i came across this info from a friend in Deviantart!

I read about this this morning, but I really can't feel sorry for him, :ermm: cause if you deal with wild animals like that you might just get bitten, but yes I kinda do feel sorry for him, cause he did leave his wifa and daughter behind, but it was probobly the way he wanted to die though if he were to die ^_^

Crikey and RIP :huggle:

Oh my God, that's horrible. At least when he passed on, he was doing something he loved and enjoyed. I hope he rests in peace.

Crickey on man! Crikey on!

I would've never believed that he would've died doing something he enjoyed...but I guess it was bound to happen sometime or another.

If you watched The Crocodile Hunter, if you laughed at Steve's antics, if you can appreciate the environmental awareness that he raised across the globe, pay your respects here.

TT_____________TT *sniffle* *sniff* *sob*

EDIT: I guess Afro started one already, I'll just merge this now ...

I was so sad when I found out. :cray: The poor guy, just trying to help people empathize with all of the animals, whether they be snakes or crocodiles. He was obviously a good guy with a big heart. He was so young, and he had a family.

I hope his message of caring for all the creatures of the world and nurturing the environment live on after him.

I am still painting flowers for you.
Not even a minute ago, the news station just did a little report on him. I must admit, I didn't believe it at first. I just thought it was a joke that someone was spreading, but apparently not. This is truley a sad story...and the worst part? He had a wife and two kids...thats got to be rough. May he rest in peace.

It's truely sad to see a childhood icon die. I used to LOVE watching his shows on animal planet. I still watched a few of his other shows and documentaries from time to time. But, despite the baby incident, he was a very good man. I always admired him for his compassion for even the most dangerous animals. Some would call him a crazy idiot for all his stunts, but he was just a dedicated man who loved animals. I feel for his family...

R.I.P. Steve Irwine
You will be sorely missed...
