When Rabid Fans Attack: - There are times when a rabid fan decides to break out of their cage and attacks the people around them. Though it's not exactly a rule in this forum, it would be advisable to just ignore them and wait for the staff to deal with them. Remember, this forum is made so that you guys don't have to deal with all the crap that's been going on outside this forum(LTD,Flamings,Fandom Wars, etc etc etc). Just enjoy this forum and let us deal with them. ![]() One Last Thing: - I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO!!!! (.......) *crickets chirping* (.......) - Nobody gets me. <_< |

I hope this isn't considered spam 'cause I might come off as a little repetitive. But I feel like some of the members here (not going to list names) are really adding to the cause of the recent invasions. When a troll infiltrates the forums, some people are quick to post in reply, calling them a wide range of colorful names and insulting them post after post even after the rabid has been dealt with accordingly. Not only is this technically spam (since spammers will most often not bother posting in the spam section), but it only makes the trolls want to come back time and again. Think of it this way: we want to respond because they're stupid, but once we do, they'll want to respond because they think we're stupid. It's an endless cycle. IMHO, we shouldn't even waste our keystrokes talking to these people. Don't bother arguing with them or cursing at them because it feeds their initiative to spam us and gives a bad name to the Clerith fanbase. I'm not a member of the staff so maybe it's not my place to talk about this... but are we really accomplishing anything worthwhile when ten different people calls an invader (pardon my french) a dumbass who needs to get a life? No. So the best solution is to just wait for the mods to intervene, and they'll give the rabids a piece of our collective mind. Let's remain the generally more mature half of this pairing war... a pairing war which really has no true relevance here. That being fact, maybe the rabids will leave us alone one day if they know we are apathetic to their stupidity. The opposite of love is not hate; it's indifference. Phew. I guess this has kind of been bothering me for a while.

We are number one. All others are number two, or lower.

I believe that most here would agree with you msz, and I do as well, it's much more simple to just ignore it, and continue on as you normally do, and makes things easier on the mods and admin. If you feel that you will most likely try to give a smartass comment back, why not just not even click the thread if you can see it's from an invasion? No offense, but many of the comments are just pointlessly egging on the invader, while making it more difficult to track down the posts for the staff. |

The thing with the invaders, ignore them because they don't want that. They invade because they want to get you riled up and annoyed. They want attention and it annoys them if they don't get any and the staff just ban them. And yes about the signatures! I'm sorry but my connection is DSL and it can sometimes take forever to load a page and even disconnects because of the large task of loading the images up. |

"I'll cut them off" O.O

First part is correct... Second part... No so much. Posts can be deleted as a whole from one poster. Same with threads. |

Ah, but what I figured is when you have them also invading old threads as well, it's easier to find out which threads were invaded if you can clearly see their name is the last one to post there, and in the case of some posts in the RP sections for example, sometimes to title isn't enough to give it away if others are posting in those threads. But of course there's lots of other benefits to not replying, so I was just thinking that was another way it could help! ![]() Also, very much in agreement over the sigs, because not only can they take a long time to load for people, but it means more scrolling, and some of us want to be lazy and scroll only if necessary! lol, but another thing is when sigs are too big and stretch the forum. That can be an annoyance as well!

I'm going to bump this because there are a few people that still don't understand the signature rules. I will be removing any signatures that do not follow these guidelines. Anyone who sees any signatures that are too big, please feel free to let them know and/or PM me about it! There is no need for insanely huge images in anyone's signature. And personally, I think the set rule is being overly generous. For a visual example, this image is 500x200: |
