Weee, here's one of my Clerith fanfics xD. I wrote it sometime ago last week I think? hmm, tell me what you think of it. I just love the song I was listening to when I wrote this ficcie :). Bah, I wished they had the lyrics but no one has it ~__~. I'll be re-writting it a few more times before posting it up on FFnet.

Don't kill me for the randomness of this fic. >.<

A little note: there are some Cloti moments, but it's more of a onesided thing for them.

Genre: I suppose it's somewhat drama and angst, but for sure it is romance. :cleris:

Here's the song if you want to listen to it xD : Click Here. :aeris:

Iced Nights

If only she knew, if only she was here. There is only him, she was no longer her. Her presence was still on this planet, around the world somewhere just waiting for him to find her, she was his promised land and she knew he’d come home, home to her with everyone else.

It was yet another cold night; he never rests when he travels. All he does is travel the planet, travel the world; he travels to find a place to call home. He travels to find the place where she sleeps. He wants to return home, to finally meet her but first, he must take a stop at an old friend’s house.

The spiky blond haired man who did not look a day older than twenty-five walked into the infamous bar of Midgar after parking his motorcycle in front of it, Tifa’s seventh heaven. Before he had walked in the bar, he looked at the sky, he just stood there watching the stars, it had seemed like he was mumbling something to himself. Who knows what he was mumbling about; he was standing there looking like a loon who talked to himself.

When he entered the bar, he felt someone wrap their small arms around his well-built and cut waist. It was a little girl, she had a red ribbon in her hair, and the ribbon reminded him of her so much.

“Cloud, you’re home!” the young and enthusiastic girl said. He gave her a nod. All she could do was smile brightly at him. It must have been days, probably weeks or months since she last saw Cloud.

Loud footsteps could be heard from behind, Marlene, the little girl and Cloud looked over to see a very delicate figure stand before them.

“Tifa.” He said as he avoided looking her in the eyes. She patted Marlene on the head softly, directing the dear twelve year old to her bedroom before coming back to have a word with her dear friend.

“So how was-”

“It was fine.” He cut her off as he placed a bag on the counter. All Tifa could do was sigh heavily, their conversations were always like this, even after he defeated Sephiroth, even since he, herself and their other comrades, saved the planet. She watched him from the corner of her eye, she blushed. It wasn’t a dark deep blush; it was just a shy timid one that a little kid would have if they were around their childhood sweetheart or crush. She couldn’t help herself. It had been a long time since she last saw him. I missed you so…; she thought to herself.

She loves him, everyone knew that. He loved her once before, no one knew how he felt about her now. So many things changed after he had left her years ago. So many things, so many new people…he changed…he changed a lot because of her. Tifa quietly pushed her bangs to the sides of her face; she looked at him a little longer. Oh how the memories of their time living with each other hurt her.

He was always so distant, even if it was all over. She couldn’t help but feel this way. He was always so quiet when she died. He was livelier when she was still here. She knew he missed her.

As Cloud examined the bar, he noticed that Tifa’s gaze was locked upon him. He looked back at her then shifting his eyes direction and attention at a small vase that contained dainty, elegant yellow poppies. Everything here, it gave him the chills. He remembered the corruption, the laughter, the pains, the heartaches, the dreams, most of all he remembered her smile.

“Cloud…” he awoken from his thoughts; he came back from his walk into memory lane. He turned his attention over to her.

“Yea’ Tifa?” he replied. He waited for her to speak. But all she did was walk over to where he was then walking behind the counter bar.

“You thirsty, if so have a drink.” She offered him a drink. He couldn’t really refuse. He hadn’t had a decent drink or meal in hours. He definitely couldn’t pass up on Tifas special either. Everyone who was a usual customer knew how good the special was.

He silently gave her a shrug, which in the oh-so-mighty-cloud language meant “sure why not?”.

Everything grew even more silent after she walked inside the kitchen to get started on his meal. Cloud placed his eyes on the vase once more. The flowers had her scent, the flowers were giggling with her laughter. They were beautiful but to him, they would never match her beauty.

Clunk, clank, and cling. He quickly averted his eyes off the vase and onto the figure before him who was tapping her foot against the floor repeatedly. He must have been lost in thought for another long period of time again.

He looked at the clock and then looked back at Tifa’s soft chocolate eyes. Her eyes were filled with annoyance, sorrow, pain, disappointment; but why would she be disappointed, and in what would she be disappointed in? He just didn’t want to ask. It was too much of a hassle.

The blond haired legend began to eat his meal quietly, he was just taking his time to enjoy what he had to eat and boy was his stomach loving it. Tifa’s cooking never tasted so good, not that it was bad or anything, it just felt two times better than before. Maybe it was due to the fact he was starving, maybe that or it could be that he has never tasted her special.

After ten minutes of filling himself up, Tifa took his plate and bowl, placing them into the sink. She washed them, he just sat there thinking. When she finished, he got up. He thanked her by giving her a head bow. She raised a brow.

“Cloud we need to talk. Now.” She was serious. Her voice was loud and clear. He knew he couldn’t run away from this talk of hers. He looked at her with a facial expression that literally made her want to hit him across the face, though she didn’t.

“I know I’ve asked you this before…do you love-” she stopped to think for a second. Was she going to lie and say “Do you love Marlene” once again, or would she be able to ask him once more, if he had loved her or loves her at all. As she took her time thinking of what to do, trying to pull her courage up together, Cloud just stood there oblivious, curious about what she was attempting to ask him.

“Do you love me?” he shot her a dubious look. It was the same look she had received from him years before when she first asked him. But why did it hurt even more this time, was it because she knew the answer to the question or was she fearing, so overfilled with the thought of him loving her more than herself? She wanted to know the answer, yet at the same time, she didn’t want to know anything.

“…” he chose not to answer; all he did was walk out the door, whispering to the wind: The answer’s in the wind, maybe you’ll find it. After that, he got onto his bike, The Fenir. He started the bike, but before he drove off again he looked at the moon. A smile, a very flirty, sweet, heart-melting smile appear which caused him to blink for one second, even though that second felt like an eternity. He thought he saw her face, her smile but he when he opened his eyes once more, he saw only the moon and stars.

Maybe she was traveling the planet too, maybe she was still watching over him.

“I wish I-we could be close to you.” A small, genuine smile appeared across face before he drove off into the night; little did he knew, Tifa was watching him and had been a witness to the smile, she heard his words; there was her answer.

The brunette moved the curtains, turning her back on the night, afterwards she placed her hands on the table; she felt something wet, something cold fall on top of her gloveless hand. She cried and then she cried once again.

“I never meant to feel this way.”

Wow, I really liked it.
It was really meaningful, and it has a mixture of Cloti and Cleris-ness, which I think was good :D Great job.

It was good ^ ^ although it was confusing in some areas :) I feel that you could have used some more language features to help with the mood/genre of the story, and also you could have added more to it, for instance more examples of why Cloud Missed Aeris so, and so on and so on bla bla bla hehehe

But overall i liked it. keep it up!
