Ooo favorite restaurants huh ? Okay lemme see here...

My first would have to be Olive Garden. Im a big fan of Italian food and this place has lots of seafood. Which leads me to....

Red Lobster :fangirl: ...Lobsters and other seafood is all I can think about .

I love Applebees, and like goddess_in_pink_07 said about the buffalo wings, she wasnt lying  :yummy:

I would die for Japanese/Chinese food and my favorite fast food restaurants are Taco Bell, McDonalds, and Checkers!!! :yahoo: :yummy:

Again, another good topic pink_ribbon07 !

Yeah!!! She always makes good threads, does she? Well, she must get that from me. She's been around me to long.... lol :D
But, Applebees rox!! That sounds good right now! :D :P

I love bats! Yes people...bats. Why? They're cute! Yes some have deformed heads and freakish appearances, but I think that majority of the bat population is cute. I saw one at my school and so wanted to adopt it, but the teachers were like NOOOO leave it alone it could have some kind of disease...psh...idiots...anyhow, no animal can beat the bat!

Maybe this should be turn into a poll, dont you think :/?

I wouldn't recommend it, since there are WAY too many restaurants out there for any poll to cover.

I'll have to echo yin-chan and choose Home. Mom's cooking = the best. I just know I'll totally hate myself when I have to start cooking for myself, and none of it turns out the same! :cray:

If I had to choose an outside establishment, I'd recommend any of the coffee shops around my place. They're like cafes you Westerners have-- except take out the fancy atmosphere, classy lights, the air-conditioning, the gleaming floors and replace them with a noisy background, flourescent lighting, ceiling fans and oily, tiled floors.

But all that is worth traversing to get to their FOOD. Which, I might add, are also CHEAP. You tell me where you can get a plate of filling chicken rice for $1USD. Typical menus consist of chicken rice, fried koay teow, economy rice, chee cheong fan, curry laksa...

These are where you find Malaysian Food, not those fancy, overpriced cafes like Uncle Lim's. :P

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ECONOMY RICE!!!! OMG Direct Translation Humour!!!! :lmao: :lmao: That's the first I've heard someone call it that in english... the translation I usually hear is "Mixed Rice", or "Rice With Assorted Dishes" but HOMG I THINK ECONOMY RICE JUST MADE MY DAY. :lmao: *makes up mind to call it economy rice from hereby onwards* :D

Try direct translating chee cheong fun..! :lmao:

[size0]urgh, now this makes me miss malaysian food so baaaad!!.. [size0]

Okay, to stick on topic.. :D

My top favourite snacks :

1. COOKIES. Any kind. Especially Famous Amos when I can afford them. I'm not a fan of Subway cookies, they're too mushy. :/

2. Bounty (something about chocolate + coconut makes me weak at the knees...)

3. Taro cake!! :hyper: Or any other cake actually. But Taro cake!! :hyper:

4. Water crackers. Simple, cheap and yum.

5. Mamee. It's instant noodles, but you don't have to cook em. You just take em straight out of the packet and munch away! They're delish!! I don't think they're sold outside of malaysia though...

6. Pocky. I mean, who doesn't?? :D

That's a direct translation?! *SCREAMS* :lmao:

I-- I-- That was the first thing to come to mind! Everywhere I go, I only see "Economy Rice" on their signboards! :lmao: Hardly anybody uses "Mixed Rice" except I'm now remembering the places that DID and why didn't I remember them earlier?!! so it'snotmyfaultSTFUSTFUSTFU!!11~`!1   :hide:

We should totally market it outside Malaysia. Mamee, Cintan... We'd blow those TV-dinner companies out of the water!

Hehe, they don't really count as restaurants, since everything's self-service except for the guy in the stained apron who comes to take your drink order.

Ah, it's hard to choose which are my favourite meals. Everything's just so tasty! And oily and unhealthy and fattening! Give me a fried koay teow any day (it's fried, flat white noodles made from flour, garnished with cockles, small prawns, bean sprouts and chives), though. Chicken rice is so good, I continue to eat it despite the avian flu flying around Asia. :P

As for locations, I don't believe you'll find these kinds of shops outside of the Asian countries-- Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China etc. Although even then, cultural differences between each country varies so that even the chicken rice from each country tastes slightly different! Malaysia's the best, of course, fufufu. *hides*

:lmao: !!! wait, we are talking about the same dish here, right?!?! The one where there's a HUGE variety of lauk to choose from, and you get a plate of rice and take your pick?!?! Chap fan, ....right?? :lmao: ERRR THEN I MUST BE ho noes! MISTAKEN :o for the direct translation for that would be Mixed Rice and not Economy Rice, BUT WHAT THE HECK ECONOMY RICE SOUNDS BETTER. :lmao:

DON'T FORGET THE CHILLIES!!! AND EGG!!! :hyper: Fried koay teow isn't fried koay teow without chillies and egg and a healthy overdose of oil!!!! Too many cockles annoy me though, cause they kill the overall taste - and my mum's obsessed we'll all get Hepatitis B and die. :lmao: Omg, I could KILL for a plate of authentic char kuay teow or chicken rice now.
