To touch the light I see in your eyes...
|
Hi, everyone... Recently, there's been a great deal of spam showing up in threads which are not in the Spam Forum. Forums such as the Advent Children forum, Kingdom Hearts, Deep Love, etc., are intended for discussion of topics. Yet, the forum staff is finding one-line posts like this:
Posts like that are not constructive. Posts like that come across as nothing more than an attempt to boost your post count. The Forum Rules state that spam is allowed ONLY in the Spam Forum. Invisionfree also considers spam to be against the rules of any forum under its jurisdiction. Since there's been so much spam appearing outside of the Spam Forum, we are starting a new policy about spam. From now on, any member who makes a post like the one above will receive a PM from a staff member with a verbal warning. The staff member will put that member's name on a list in the staff forum where we will keep track how many verbal warnings each member receives for spam. After two verbal warnings, that member will receive an actual warning on the warning bar for each post of spam that they make in the future. This will be true for ALL forums outside of the Spam Forum, including the Church and General Chat. Please do not spam outside of the Spam Forum and make your posts in the rest of the forum more constructive. Thank you! |

Thanks for posting Aly :D. I consider this rule fair beacuase some people really dont tolerate spam <_< and most members are not usally in the Spam section, since posts there dont boost you're count :ermm:. Im trying to avoid the Spam section for awhile since I've become interested in other topics :P.
I have a question on that one!!! What happens when some continously uses spam after getting an actual warning? Will that person be banned?

Thank you for your feedback, Lucrecia. :) Any member will be banned after receiving three warnings, as stated in the Forum Rules. The two verbal warnings act as unofficial reminders. Subsequent official warnings will be made with each spam made after that. Verbal Warning 1 + Verbal Warning 2 + 3 Spam = Banned. |

The spam influx started happening recently. We've been getting feedback that some of the spamming has reached a bothersome point, hence the staff's efforts to control it with the new rules. As for double-posts-- Understandably, some double posts happen accidentally, and you will likely not be warned if so. However, excessive double-posting that goes unstopped will very likely end up getting you a warning, as it is also not allowed by Forum Rules (Item #9). |

Damo98, your post is an example of spam. InvisionFree defines spam as: a. Very short posts with only a few words. b. Posts that are not relevant to the topic. c. Posts made only to chat with other members. d. Posts with no valuable content, such as: "@#$!#@!! who cares, this is stupid!!!!!" Your post is a very short post with only a few words in response to my post. You will be sent a verbal warning about your post. One verbal warning for spam was already sent to you on March 4th about your post in this thread: http://s8.invisionfree.com/Cloud_x_Aerith/...0&#entry8780560 This will be your second verbal warning for spam. From now on, you will receive an actual warning any time that you spam in this forum, so please refrain from it. Thank you. |

I'm going to presume (possibly incorrectly) that Damo did that intentionally. In which case kudos to you Damo, I laughed hard. XD As for the spamming. It's been a real problem in the Lifestream section. People making posts simply quoting an entire post and then saying "I agree". HB has pointed it out on several occasions and it is becoming a little frustrating. As for double posting...well I've never liked that rule, but oh well. On the issue of quoting, is there any limit on how large a section one can quote? Sometimes people seem to needlessly quote an entire post as one section while only referring to a small piece of it. I just find it rather annoying and pointless, though I suppose there's little that could be done about it. Just my two cents. |

I agree it's very annoying, especially when you scroll through all that quoted text and only find a couple of sentences in response. There's nothing in the actual rules that touches on this, but I suppose reminders from the staff once in a while when it happens might help. Thanks for letting us know about The Lifestream's situation. I only saw it in one of the threads, but I'll start keeping an eye on others too. Many thanks to HB for taking care of it before this, though.

let me just start out by saying that I have entirely no problem with no this, since Im not much of a spammer. (I like to be more of a heavy poster sometimes). And I thank you both Anastar and Lynn for this policy on spam. Becuase this shows, to me, that you guys care about us posters AND that its important to follow the rules .
