ff7 itīs for me the best videogame, and like all great stories we can see a great couple: Aerith and Cloud. I think this is the true couple, there are drama, happiness(when Cloud is AerithĻs bodyguard and they laugh together),sadness(when Aerith died)and comedy(Johnny, for example, itīs a funny character). they are the "couple" of ff7, she is idealized(she is beauty, innocent, sweet and special[she's last Cetra], like a queen who loves flowers, and he is the "soldier"who look after her, he is rude, quiet until he meet her, and then she's loves him so much that she gave her life for him. my opinion is this story is pure art. Andif he was in love with Tifa, the story was very simple withouth magic, Tifa is for me too vulgar. A fantastic story like final fantasy VII needs a fantastic love story symbolized by Cloud and Aerith. the true love stories remain for the drama(the best example is Romeo and juliet), and in my opinion the best in this story is aerithīs love is stronger than the death, and she even dead, she look after Cloud , like his angel. Itīs wonderfull. Pure art. |

OMG yes Aeris Gast :cheer:. Besides, alomst all Final Fantasy stories have a romantic couple which captures the players into the story. If there was no such thing as fantasy, this game wouldn't even exist . |

Aeris Gast, I agree so much with you! I always saw Aerith and Cloud as the perfect love story, the forte couple of FFVII. It wasn't even until after I played the game and surfed the net for things I might've missed that I discovered that Tifa was a possible love interest for Cloud. I could tell she loved him, but it never even crossed my mind that he might love her back. The story of Cloud and Aeris is a beautiful one: two people, such total opposites, beginning to find love and comfort in one another have their premature affection stolen from them in a single moment at the fault of an untimely death. Although I disagree in that I don't dislike Tifa's character, there is no doubt in my mind that they were the original, intended canon couple of this game. You put it best; their love is art.

I'd have to say, yes, I agree. Final Fantasy VII has definitely one of the best storylines, full of imagination and creativity, and comedy. Though it may not have the best graphics, I'd have to say in it's time the graphics were prolly one of the best around. Though I'm not sure if that's right. It's just my opnion. Not just CloudxAerith, the other parts of the story make it great too. Sometimes I think up little side stories, like Yuffie meeting Vincent, what you don't see, or why did Rufus walk up to Tifa first on the 70th floor? That kind of thing. There's so many possibilities, I think that's what makes RPGs the best games around. ![]()
I wouldn't say he was "rude", but I know what you mean!! I guess he offends easily and is pretty obnoxious, but I know that if he insulted someone, he'd have a good reason. I like that fact that when you first meet Aerith, offering Cloud a flower, I never actually realised that she was gonna be the main character or she was gonna die. Though I did remember seeing her in the first FMV sequence (when she's looking into that mako-fire thingy), it never really clicked that she was gonna have a big part to play. Cloud- ha, he's some character. He does what he wants, when he wants. I never really had a dedication to anyone or anything, for example when Cloud and Aerith are in the park at Sector 7 Slums and they see that Tifa is in the back of that Chocobo-drawn carriage. Aerith runs off, and Cloud runs after Aerith. However, when Aerith get caught by ShinRa, Cloud runs off to rescue Aerith, and needs no push out the door by anyone. He was a mercenary, out to do his job, get paid money, nothing else matters. But then throughout the game, little things start to matter, and eventually Cloud and AVALANCHE are out to save the planet. I think Aerith was just that little spark that caused the roaring flame. Look how depressed he is in Advent Children, saying he can't help anyone? He thinks Aerith is gone, because he let her die. -_-
I wouldn't say Tifa is vulgar. But if you mean she doesn't really fit in that kind of relationship, I agree. She wanted a hero, someone who can rescue her. But Cloud himself even admitted it, he couldn't be that guy. She needs someone else. (like Rufus!! )
I like that fact that the Handreach scene shows that even in death, Cloud can still reach Aerith. Cloud even thinks he can meet her there, even if she is a "dead corpse". She definitely watches over him, like in Calling. |

this is one of the best games ever made, eventhough I have to admit I wasn't too impressed with it at first. I played FFVIII first so I was like look at the way this game looks, the chars are all blocky. I was new at rpgs when I first played it, but now I know it has one of the greatest stories in rpg history, and one of the most shocking and dramatic moments in rpg history. |
