In KH2, they changed it to "Tie-dus", so I guess that is the appropriate way to pronounce it. ![]() I always though Lucrecia's name was pronounced "Loo-cree-sha", but, in DoC Vincent says "Loo-crets-ee-a".

Are you serious? Vivi says it "SIE-fer" from my version. But I say "TIE-dus" anyway. ![]()
Yeah, me too. I say it a bit differently from you, "Loo-cree-sia". I also didn't like how they pronouced Mako "Mah-ko" when I say "May-ko" |

It's weird now cause I pronouce his name "TIE-dus"... it changed all of a sudden! I used to say "TEE-dus" all the time but not anymore? I don't know why. Just another quirk of life, I guess. XD~~ |

I always pronounced it Tie-dus... but I'm going to try and use Ti-dus now. xD And I always said 'Yuff-ee' but now I'll say 'Yoo-fee'. xD I always said 'Lu-creesh-ia'. And when I first got FF7, I said 'Tee-fa' but then someone corrected me and I've said 'Tiff-a' ever since. =/ And I always said 'May-ko'. |

For "Mako", it's not wrong if you follow the Japanese phonetics. I don't believe there is an "ay" sound for the "a" in Mako. That's English. As for me, I pronounced it "Mah-ko" and "Loo-cree-shia". The latter is from the English version of the game... Who knows, maybe the Japanese spell it slightly different? |

In Japanese it is spelt ' Rukuretsia '. So straight-translated it would be ' Lu-cret-sia ' like Vincent says, apparently. ' Lucrecia is named after the historical figure Lucretia, who was raped by a Roman prince and subsequently committed suicide. Classical legend claims that it was her death which brought about the bloody Roman civil war that transformed Rome from a monarchy into a republic. The Lucrecia in Final Fantasy VII was also exploited to great and tragic effect by the Shin-Ra Corporation; incidentally, the second kanji in "Shin-Ra" is often used to represent Rome in Japanese. I say Mako as 'mah-ko', because I'm being me and with my accented voice. Also, I pronouced Lucrecia as 'Loo-creh-shia'. Seifer, Seifer, Seifer...why must your name be 'Sigh-far'? It's not the 'Say-fur' I always used!! |
