Long time no see! *keeps hands warily on the Refresh button* I need some help from you computer techies out there --- I just got back my laptop from repair, but those idiots completely formatted it, so I've lost every single data I had. All my artworks, my programs, my precious files, even my collection of Cloud/Aeris stuff. ![]() Does anyone know if it's possible to regain my lost files? I know it sound ridiculous....but is it actually possible?? I've got a lot of precious Uni files lost as well...

Wow, that really sucks that they did that, yin-chan. Shouldn't these people call you first to see if you wanted it formatted?!I'm not much of a computer expert, so I don't know if you can recover your files. I've always been told that reformatting your computer means wiping the slate completely clean, though, so I don't think you can. ![]() [EDIT] Okay, scratch that, I think there's a chance to recover the files. I Googled "recover data on formatted drive" and this was the first link to pop up. Maybe there is hope? |

Good heavens, there is hope in space!!!!! :o THANK YOU Lynn!! I checked that link out, and it does look...hopeful! For the time being, my brother got me a program called Easy Recovery Pro or something like that, and I'm hoping it will work, but I'll need an external HD for that. So I'll try that out once I get a HDD and see how it goes - if it doesn't work, I'll try out the programs in that link you supplied me with. THANK YOU. TT________TT *grovels at your feet* I'm even more motivated to do that Lloud fanart now.
They promised me they wouldn't format it, and all my data would be fine and unharmed - but when I picked up my laptop it was already formatted, and they were so rude which led to a huge row with the shop people and stuff and it just all went really ugly cause I was so angry. X__X Ugh. Never will I buy computer equipment from Bukit Bintang ever again. X__X |

Good luck with it! I hope the program works for you, because from what I read in that link, it can cost quite a bit to get someone to recover your files for you. Unless you try the freeware, but know that you might not get everything back.
Ugh. *makes note to boycott* |
