And to answer your question Sadhana, no I'm not going to be a senior. I'm one year behind that  But I hear junior year is the worst...

I don't know about other people or other schools 'cause I don't want to scare you, but it definitely was for me. It wasn't SATs because I didn't do any preparation for it-- seriously, none. It was just the work load. For some reason, all my teachers decided to give me an impossible amount of homework every single day. :) My typical, daily homework load last year was as follows:

English- read the next forty pages in the book and hand write a three page reaction
Physics- read the chapter and answer all thirty questions at the end
Psychology- write a two page reaction to the case study from class
Spanish- write an essay about how Bernadino from the story is a spoiled child
American History- read the twenty page chapter, and answer all fifteen questions with a 12-16 sentence paragraph for each
Calculus- complete the five page packet filled with a ton of problems

How did I survive? Barely. It's different for everyone. I just happened to have some really tough teachers, and I was taking two AP classes. The first or second week of May, I had two AP exams and my SATs all in the same week. That was mildly enjoyable. So don't expect to necessarily have as bad of an experience as I did.

Thanks, I'm glad to know that people feel my pain as well. I hate school too, but lucky for us tomorrows going to be half-day. Yay!

But the bad news is that I'm a Freshman. So this is my first year highschool. Yeah <_<

O__O

I hope my junior year won't require that much labor. XD I have all good teachers except one ((who deserves to be shoved in the worlds largest crater <_< )) so, maybe my year won't be so bad. And I'm definitley not taking any AP courses. I was offered AP History but turned it down. I just went into the honors course instead ((cause you so wanted to know that XD)) I'm sorry you had such a bad junior year Sadhana!

Freshman year wasn't so bad. The worst part was just getting used to a new environment ((for me anyway)) in my opinion, I think teachers go easy on freshman, at least in my school they did. You'll be fine, PH! And if any upper classman gives you any trouble((which I'm sure they won't)), just kick them, and run.

I_G: That's good, that you don't have horrible teachers like I did. Actually, they weren't so bad, but they all insisted on making sure that I had no social life. But otherwise they were pretty cool (paradox, I know). I especially loved my American History teacher for going on a daily 20 minute rant about how horrible Bush was. Brightened my day every time.

You're lucky to not be taking AP classes. I somehow signed myself up for five this year, so... everyone's invited to my funeral. Good news though: once I take all my AP exams in May, I'm pretty much done with high school. Every academic course I'm taking is AP, so I won't have ANYTHING to do in ANY of my classes from May to June. XD

PH: I_G is right. Freshman year really isn't so bad. You probably don't need to fear the upperclassmen, we're usually not jerks to the newbie high schoolers. Plus, at least as far as I've experienced, it's the year with the lightest homework load. Enjoy it. Revel in the new experience that is high school.

I'm in my Second Semester as an 8th Grader. Man, after that, two years of High school left, then college, then uni.

Good thing is, I've finish most of my assignments. Bad thing is, I have tests left.

My current subjects are...

English
Computing (elective subject)
Science (I have the best teacher EVA! Weee, making sherberts experiments!)
Japanese ( :D )
SOSE (such a good target for misbehaviour. Warning, if you're in my class, beware of FLYING FRUITS.)
Maths (Ratios, goodie...)
Nutrition (elective subject for this term, will change back to PE next term.)

Hey guys. It's my first day of school and about 10:00 AM here in New York. It's fourth period right now, but I have off. So I walked home, and thus I find myself typing this. We started off BC Calculus by immediately jumping right into the curriculum. And I'm lost already. :D

I'm kind of bored, but I have a feeling that I will immensely enjoy having two off periods every single day (4th and 7th). I want some breakfast because I woke up too late for it this morning. So I'm going to go eat now.

Very meaningful post, I know.

Very meaningful post, I know.

Whenever Scott gets the contest running, I'm nominating this for Best Post. The meaning, the depth, the insight simply drips like water off wet laundry from this!

Since we're on the subject of classes, I accidentally skipped a two-hour lecture on Monday. >_< I was nicely sitting in the library reading my textbook, misread my timetable, turned up two hours late. And the book I was reading was FOR THAT LECTURE.

Yep.

I think the most incensed part of it all was that I'd actually gone into the lecture theatre and SAT there, waiting for my lecture to start, blissfully unaware until a completely foreign lecturer came in.

Look up 'oblivious' in the dictionary, m'dears. You'll see this example right beside it.

:ow:
