Companies should be less blatant about their lies. Never know which obsessed fan is keeping track.

:lmao: *applauds Lynn* No, they never said it! :giggle:

From what I've heard, the release is all in Sony's hands now.

I think that the reason behind the delay, is due to aesthetics. Maybe at first, they planned on releasing the same movie for the US but dubbed, meaning that when you see the characters speaking, you'll see them moving their lips as if they were talking in japanese, but then they decided to re-make it in order that in the english version, the charcaters moved their lips as if talking in english.

Maybe they are also, re-rendering the characters, so that they look not japanese, but as white people, in order for the US, European, or other audiences to feel more related to them, but that's just supposition of mine.

No, I highly doubt that's the reason. I'd hate them if they decided to change the characters just to make them look-a-likes of some overpaid Hollywood Barbie and Ken. I doubt they'll change the way their mouthes move as well. People didnt give a carp about that in KH, FFX, FFX-2...they shouldn't care much about that now. It'd be like redoing anime just because the characters mouth didn't move like the characters in american animation. It's a big butt waste of time IMO.

I think Nomura did mention (quite a long time ago) that they would adjust the lip movements to match the English versions, so that may be a cause for the delay. I believe it may have caused the initial delays, but I can't imagine how something like that could put AC back by so much.

(It's not like the movie's filled with dialogue, y'know? )

I don't think they'd change the characters' looks, though. That seems a bit too much work, and something SE would've likely mentioned in news reports as well. I don't think the characters (with the exception of Yuffie and at certain points, Tifa) look all that Asian to begin with, at least compared to the FMVs in FFX. The guys just look andrgynous to me.

If SE is taking this long to release the NA and International version then it must be well worth the wait. Like what Lynn mentioned, SE is most likely going to adjust the lip movements to match the English dialog. That's one of the things that probably contributed to the long release date.

Other things that could've contributed:
*Finding the voice actresses and actors.
*Translations from Japenese to various other languages. (English, Spanish, etc.)
*Recording the translated dialog.
*The extra goodies in the DVD; commentaries, interviews, deleted scenes, 'the making of AC', etc...
*Translating the extra goodies? 0.o;;

So I'm not really surprized it's taking this long. But, better to have a DVD with a bunch of cool extras than a DVD with none at all. Plus, if experience has told me anything, than it has told me to be patient and not want the producers to rush it. Believe me... the outcome won't be satisfying...

For example, Lucas Arts rushed Obsidian during the production of Kotor2 to match its release date. What was the result? An incomplete plotline with many plot holes, no character development, many annoying glitches, out of style graphics, and many dissatisfied loyal Kotor fans. RAWR!!! RE will not forgive! :fist: It could've been sooooo much better!*rolls up in a ball and cries*

*cough* So... take as long as you want, SE. No rush... But, I will be expecting many many many goodies in my DVD in return!

That's why I said those were just suppositions of mine (the chararacter re-rendering), I said that because I heard from people that have seen the movie, that they'd like to see the characters to be re-rendered in order to look caucasian. I have to be honest, I'd feel more related if they looked like that, even if I liked how they looked in the JP version.

But, I do consider important the word and lips synchronization, just look how those japanese or chinese movies look after dubbed, and how everyone mocks of it because it ends up looking funny. I think that a re-rendering for those matters is worth of waiting.

To be the honest I dont care about the lips synchronization, I just worried about a possible miserable english voice synchronization, I love to hear the jap. voice actors, wish they could do it in english....

But I think that's impoosible when I realize how the japanese speak english....

"Simultaneous release" must mean differently to SE than it does to the rest of the world. :giggle:

I'm finding the news on the release date confirmed at many sites, including:

http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2006/2/13/2854
http://news.gaminghorizon.com/media2/1139849940.3400.html
http://games.slashdot.org/games/06/02/13/1544223.shtml
http://www.gaming-age.com/news/2006/2/13-19

The price is given as $26.96, including the bonus features.

The first article also says that the voice actors have been confirmed at 1Up.com, but I can't get into it since I don't have an account. Does anyone here have an account?
