Love that interpretation of the phones and Vincent and Cloud, Luna! And here I was, looking at it merely as a gag scene! Well, I'm still convinced it IS a gag scene, but your thoughts on its underlying meaning is quite awesome as well.
I think it was Kitase who also said that Cloud and Vincent share many similarities. But while Cloud seemed to be set on Vincent's road in the beginning, I agree that this is where their paths diverge. Vincent chose to follow that path into the pits of depression and isolation, whereas Cloud chooses to fight his way back up. I've said it before, but a handphone has never been as symbolic as it is in AC. As for your sig, I love Cloud's "<3" bubble.

Why, thank you. I think that the whole philosophicalness of it lies mainly in the conversation about forgiveness, but the fact that the little phone gag was in the same scene makes me think of it in my own biased-Cleris way. ![]() Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't remember for the life of me who it was who mentioned the Cloud/Vincent thing. I like how Cloud handles the situation in comparison to Vincent. People assume that Cleris and VinLuc center completely around a completely emo guy who tortures himself until the day he dies, never seeing the light of day again. I have to disagree. AC can back me up on that. ![]()
Here's to unlimited minutes! *cheers* ![]()
Cloud doesn't need to have his mouth open for me to make him "speak."

Yes, well, Vincent wasn't surrounded by a group of supportive friends, nor was he given strength by the love of his life. Vincent was abandoned by everyone, even the woman he loved.

Exactly. The fact is that Cloud had these things and neglected them. But when he began to understand how much they contributed to his self-liberation and ultimately his ability to communicate with Aerith, I think Vincent began to see Cloud as a strong example of what he really wanted and needed. I think DOC is his chance to find it. Maybe then he can really face Lucrecia and think about what could have been, and what could be in the future. I'd like her a little more if she acknowledged that effort in DOC and acted like Aerith did for Cloud--maybe she'd learn to love him, too.

I hope so! I am actually a big Lucent fan if only for the reason that I love Vincent and want him to be happy. It would be nice to see him forgive himself in DoC and move on without regret. Perhaps we will see what has become of Lucrecia, as well (if she is still alive).

Who's that in the background?! I'm really excited to find out if Lucrecia's alive in DOC. She seems to have a new look. so...*crosses fingers*

That's not Lucrecia. I wish it was though. I really do want to see something between her and Vincent.

Have you noticed that Vincent is shown moping around a lot in Lucrecia's cave in DoC, much the same way Cloud spent a lot of time in Aerith's church in AC?

*snaps and swears like a sailor* Aww, man...and I was really hoping she'd become some totally awesome fighter-zombie. Dammit. *mopes*
Oh, I've been lavishing in squee-land over that for a while now. Maybe he lives there--I'd be a very happy fangirl if that happened.
