SE has delayed the US release until 2006. :cray:

News - US release of FF VII: Advent Children delayed to 2006
Posted by Ash Paulsen at 08:10:24 PM EST on 11.11.2005.

As if official news on the US release of the movie coming to a trickle in recent months wasn't enough of a hint, it's now official: Square Enix has delayed the US release of their upcoming feature film sequel, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, to an as-yet-unannounced date in 2006.

This news comes from one of our own readers who is an employee at EB Games. The movie was removed from the EB Games computers' coming soon list a few days ago, and when home office was contacted about it, the word was that Square Enix had pushed back both the DVD and UMD versions of the movie to "TBA 2006."

He also tells us that he spoke with his store's Sony representative about the matter, and that he (the rep) had heard rumors of Square Enix wanting to add special content to the UMD version of Advent Children, something along the lines of a surprise Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII unveiling (though in what form is unknown). Admittedly, that would be pretty cool if it were true, but it sounds kind of fishy to me... and he also mentions to take that rumor with a grain of salt and remember that it's just that: a rumor.

Still, whatever the reason, Advent Children has been officially delayed until sometime in 2006, and it can be wholeheartedly said that Square Enix and/or Sony has/have done an inexcusably terrible job getting the the film out to US fans on time, special UMD features or not.

<_< Uh-huh, definitely re-downloading it now.

With all these delays, it would be absolutely inexcusable if AC has sucky dubbing. That's the only reason I see worthy enough to warrant another delay.

This would be nice, although I'm skeptical as well. But there's really no point in me thinking about this since I don't have a PSP anyway.

Thanks, Anastar.

If I wouldn't have this film already I would be very upset. But as I do...I only feel sorry for those who have not downloaded it.

I agree. SE better be working their asses off to provide AC with some top notch voice acting and special features. Hell, with all the time they have now, there better be a NA Limited Edition version too.

I actually hope there isn't a theatre release, not because I dont want to see it in the movie theatres, but because I'm afraid it might do bad again, and they'd loose a lot of money from putting it in theatres. It may have done well in Japan, but here..with it aimed for fans only I don't think many will see it.

Let's hope they've delayed it because they want to do something like provide the NA audience with a limited edition, too.

We can hope so, anyway. <_<

I hope they don't have it in theatres, really. Can you imagine the general public walking out when the credits start rolling? Unless all of us are going to get up and chain everyone to their seats, I can't imagine watching it in the theatres and not leaving really pissed at certain people.

I just want to know how they're going to translate certain lines. Actually, just whether or not the word used is "you" or "us" or "him". That's the only reason I'm waiting for the NA version, so I guess it's no big deal. For now, in the wise words of Shadowgirl, NA really looks like it stands for "Never Available". :lmao:

Oh dear, I can totally imagine this scenario...credits roll and everyone start to scramble out of the theatre <_<
If they ever release this in theatres, SE should make a disclaimer before the start of the movie that you HAVE to stay put until the screen turns totally black

I'm remembering the Variety review when AC was first screened... Anybody still remember how the reviewer knew absolutely nothing about the film? I don't think I could bear to read more of those sorts of reviews if AC does get a theatrical release. My FFVII-loving heart wouldn't be able to handle the sheer cluelessness. :cray:

Forget the theatre and just focus on making a NA Limited Edition, SE. Really. That's all we want. Our own Cloud and Fenrir. Not some gigantic theatre screening that's likely to draw in a crowd that doesn't even know Zack by name.

Delayed again?!?!?

Maaan......that bums. They'd better not release it in theatres!!! I can't even imagine what the reviews will be like. <_<

They'd better release a Limited Edition for it, with the Fenrir and whatnot instead of theatrical releases. <_<

I didn't see that Variety review, and now I think I don't want to! *covers eyes and ears*

Well they could just shift "Calling" up to before the credits, but you'd lose the effect of that time gap. *spoiler* I liked that, it gives you the feeling that, no matter how much time passes, Cloud still visits the flower fields, because he knows Aerith is there. :cleris:

Ah, forget Cloud and Fenrir. I want a flower field poster....!!!!one1111!!! Nomura, did you hear me? I want one, I don't care if it's just flowers with no humans inside it. I just want a flower field poster! Give me that and I'll be eternally yours.

Nooo!! That means it's gonna be even later in England!! :cray:

:fist:

Nope, I don't want it in theatres either. Like Clorith said, that peeps will walk out before Calling even starts prolly. :guns:

Knowing most brits here in england, the reviews will be terrible. There has to be lots of sex and raunch for brits to appreciate films. <_<
