Yes! I'm sure Cloud is fighting because of Aerith's memory. Have you seen the trailers? He says he wants to try and be forgiven, but only because he meets Aerith and finds strength from her again! Hurray, my first real post! :) |

Yes, my wub...let us, for the third time, remarry!
Tsk tsk...you know very well that Kadaj already belongs to you, and in case you're thinking about SephEris...that incredibly sexay creep happens to belong to me. This really sucks, but I guess the only logical one left for Aerith is Cloud then. What a shame, eh? :gasps in outrage: |

I'd like to see the source on that quote by Nomura about not contradicting various interpretations, because how or if he made that statement is the rosetta stone for figuring this whole "Will they resolve the LTD" thing out. And personally, if I'm going to be disapointed by an inconclusive ending, I'd like to know in advance and brace myself for it. On another note, I agree 100% with Hades' Daughter's post, and I am suprised that there aren't more people who do (mabye it was just so well written that they didn't see the need to back it up). Cleris is clearly the way they've been leaning all along, so this lack of LTD resolution clearly favors Clotis. If I had any say in whether or not they resolve the LTD, I would be more than willing to accept the slim chances of a Cloti ending by letting them play it out to the end. That's what an ending is, sheesh. Maybe I wouldn't be so demanding in regards to this particular aspect if they weren't devoting the rest of the compilation to Vincent and prequels. If they want to end Cloud's story (and by all means, I wish they would), then they have to, as Hade's Daughter put it, answer the last lingering question. I mean, they have a whole movie to answer questions about FF7, and they'll only this one question left thing to be answered by the time the prologue is done. To leave it unanswered would be stupid. I'd rather have a Cloti ending than an inconclusive ending, just so this torment can end. Sure it would suck, but at least we wouldn't have to spend sleepless nights wondering what beautiful ending we were meant to see... And plus, we all know that if the AC team had no pressure on them (from the fans, the businessmen, and the guy calling himself Mr. X who slips them letters assembled from magazine clippings), they'd do a Cleris ending...search your feelings, you know it be true! lol

I no longer have the exact quote, but I believe it was in Playstation magazine (Japanese version) last year in a page long interview with Nomura. It was translated for us at AC.net. At any rate, Nomura basically said that there's as many different interpretations of FFVII as there are gamers. As a result, the AC team had decided not to contradict the interpretation of the game held by different gamers.
How does leaning in the way of Cleris all along favor the Cloti's? If anything, it would seem to favor Cleris to me. And the way gamers view the ending is completely up to interpretation. I never thought that Cloud would get together with Tifa when I played the game, so providing a clear ending does not necessarily point to a Cloti ending. |

Well, Nomura said this in June 2004 in an interview with GanGan: "It’s not a story that will reveal the mysteries present in the game, but the thing is, that although we concluded FFVII back then, I think that there probably are among the players, those for whom there are still unclear things remaining about the character of Cloud who’s role they assumed. Why is Cloud, who is now living by himself in solitude, in fact alone? Aside from this, there must surely be parts that trouble the minds of people who played FFVII… Pertaining to that, I think that in more ways than one, Cloud will settle things this time." Then, later that same month, Kitase said this in an interview with PlayStation magazine: "Cloud and Tifa, and the recently revealed "someone" [Aerith]. While there are a lot of action scenes, it will also depict the delicate relationship of these three." And, while I don't have a link to that Nomura interview, I remember him saying that he was asked to stop before he contradicted the interpretations of the fans. |

We should ask Clorith or Vilaeth at AC.net. They prolly have it. The funniest thing is that he said that they had decided not to contradict the interpretation of different gamers, but they already have. Whether or not Humanity was killed off by Holy at the end of FFVII was unknown and was debated for years. There were quite a few gamers out there who believed that Humanity was killed off. |

I've heard people say that perhaps thats because of the short FMV after the end credits where 500 years later Red and his cubs are running and sees the destroyed Midgar.
Gaahhh if only he wasn't asked to stop!! Then the LTD might have been solved!!! *is killed by curiousity* |
