OMG! The voice acting PWN'Z me!!! Vaan and Penelo's drove me nuts in the beginning of the game when the characters were so BLAH(they sounded like they were MOANING all the time O.o), but now that they're getting a bit more life they're not quite as bad. My favorite has to be Fran. Hers is so unique! |

I LOVE her voice. It's so unique and just plain awesome. Finally someone who doesn't sound like a 16 year old valley girl trying to attempt maturity. I also love Balthier's and Basch's. Their voices just sum up their characters so well. And if ANY word would be Balthier's very own theme word, it would have to be "treachery". He could say that all day and all I'd do is giggle. |

Yagh. Vaan's is still driving me nuts. He sounds so immature. But oh my goodness, Balthier He reminds me of Spike from Buffy, same slicked back hair, and that accent!

Shall join lusting over Balthier's voice. And Basch's voice. And Fran (shame there's a lot of people who didn't like it). I'm impressed SE is getting these VAs for XII who're apparently not Americans (Balthier's an honest to gosh Englishman). |

Yeah, I really like it, it makes it seem more realistic. If they are from different parts of the world, it makes sense they would have different accents.

Heck I'll join. I like both subs and dubs though. I am getting sick of people bitching about every little change that a dub may make especially when the dialogue isn't EXACTLY like the original. What, do they want their anime to look like an old Godzilla movie. There are some dubs that I can't stand, but those are the ones that are butchered so badly that the series became stupid. One Piece had horrible dubbing and I was very disappointed because I wanted a good professional dub of it too watch. I mostly watch my anime dubbed with the exception of a few. I also find myself loosing attention with subtitles lately. Oh yeah, is anyone else tired of people complaining about the end of X where Yuna says "I love you" instead of "Thank you"? While I had issues with both Tidus and Yuna's VAs I think they both did an exceptional job with that scene. I found the "I love you" much more emotional that the "Thank you". I watched that scene in Japanese and felt very empty with it, while in the English it brought me to tears the first time. Of course, to a Japanese audience, "Thank you" would make more sense, because the Japanese, even married couples, rarely say I love you. And they would never say it in front of a crowd. But if they had dubbed it as "Thank you" I would have been very disappointed with that scene. It doesn't make sense that Yuna would say something so vague to someone she loves and is never going to see again. /rant So I'll definently be joining. |

Welcome, Rinchan! Yeah, I didn't even know that she originally said "thank you" until after I had already played FFX. I was all . I don't think it would have been so touching if she hadn't told him that she loved him right there. But, I guess, since the Japanese don't tend to say "I love you" much (if at all), then that makes sense to them.
