Ohmigod, FF_Goddess, I love you for making this club! I always get tired of seeing people shun dubbed anime, when a lot of it is actually really well done.Although on the first page, I think Tara Strong should be added, since the many voices she's done and her range are just incredible. All of her roles are listed here, to attempt to list them all myself would take too long. As a quick overview, she's done voices for FFX/X-2, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear, Xenosaga, and Tales of Symphonia just to name a few. I was watching a few FFXII vids on youtube yesterday, and I do like the voice acting a lot. Ashe's voice is love, as is Peleno's.

When the heck did Tara Strong voice Sailor Moon!? I own the series dubbed and uncut and I don't regonise her voice, or see her in the credits.

She may not have been a main voice, but rather a voice for background characters. Apparently it was in '95...so the earlier episodes. In any case, it'd be impossible to recognize her voice since she can change it so well - she can do young boys to mature women (I was shocked when I found out she was Timmy Turner from Fairly Oddparents AND Clara from Drawn Together...) |

I feel the same way! I added her and put you on the members list. ![]() Are Paul Dobson and Steve Blum the same person? I know Steve is sometimes credited using other names, but I have never seen him listed as Paul.

Thank you! And oh man, I was watching Utena today and Shiori's Japanese voice is the WORST. THING. EVER. I want to tear my ears off, it's so bad. That high pitched girlish voice. Ugh. Her English voice is so much better. |

Thanks FF_G, here in Scotland, we do not get very much anime, we've only received stuff like Dragon ball Z, Pokemon and other very popular anime in America. As that result, we usually get anime that is dubbed by...4Kids  Any anime outside that type of area is usually released on DVD with heavy prices for only 3 episodes, so I haven't really seen much good dubs. However, I have a love for the English version of Excel Saga which I adore, I actually think its better than the original Japanese version. Jessica Carvello certainly took Excel's shriek voice to a new level of insane-ness ![]() I love the FFXII video! You can see that VG companies are putting a lot more effort into casting voices for the characters when the English version is being translated. I can see a lot of improvement from the days when FFX was released. My particular favourites are Suikoden V and even though I haven't played it yet, Kingdom Hearts II seems to have a very promising cast. |

I have noticed an increase in the quality of English VAs for video games, too, Sonikku. However, I still like the VAs for FFX, especially Auron's VA, Matt McKenzie. Anyways, welcome to the club!

Oh don't get me wrong! I loved the voice cast of FFX, especially Auron's voice. But what I meant is, when you look back at the terms of quality from FFX to today, you can see a lot of improvement

Oh, okay, I see! I agree with yas, btw. I think the creators of these video games are starting to take the voice acting a bit more seriously, especially after the success of AC. I mean, you wouldn't want to make a movie spin-off from your game if the VAs sucked and you wouldn't want to change VAs mid-stream either.

I think I should add the fact, that Naruto is the first ever anime that has been on a Children's TV Channel to be released uncut on DVD here I quite enjoy that dub, I can regonise some of the voice actors from other animes and including video games like Suikoden V.
Haha, especially, since its FFVII. This game probably has the most rabid fans than any other video game in history  |

Urgh, that reminds me of Castle in the Sky. Me'n my boyfriend were watching it dubbed since Ghibli always does really good dubbing. But when we accidently switched it over to subbed and he got to see some of the subs, he really really wanted to watch the whole movie subbed, but Patzu's voice was SO FRICKIN IRRITATING!!!! >.< So we got into this disagreement, cuz he preferred the original script, while I preferred being able to ENJOY the movie. Turned out that the only line that was any different was the one we'd seen though  Showed him. |

Good one, Sefie! I love Studio Ghibli's films. The VAs are really good in the more recent ones (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle).
