Well, it really depends on how you interpret the word "dream". Yes you can say it is a dream...Cloud dreams of himself being with Aerith in a flowerfield and gathering strength from her words and presence. Is that dream merely something that Cloud made up in his mind because sunbconsciously, he needed Aerith so much he dreamt her up (It will be very tragic if it is so)? OR Aerith's spirit truly visited Cloud in a dream-like sequence, where she talked to him and encouraged him to fight? I would prefer the latter. Because if it's the former, then Cloud is really breaking down to the extent that he is on the verge of being mental. :'( |

"You came even though you're about to break"... In my understanding, it could be a clue of what's going to happen to Cloud in the end ![]() Some of you mentioned it already: 1. Breakdown physically? 2. Mentally? 3. Both? *smiles evilly* I can't wait to see what happens to Cloud. I really hope he breaks, whatever Aerith meant by that ![]() But the good thing is, even though he is about to break, for Aerith, he still has the strength to... go and meet her... ^_^' ...*and I'm suddenly lost for words because I was rudely interrupted by someone*... |

Well, I sure hope that Cloud wasn't asleep while driving Fenrir through the Sleeping Forest!! He was definitely asleep when he had the dream about meeting Aerith in the Sleeping Forest after the Temple of Ancients, but he wasn't asleep this time - so it has to be something other than "just a dream". Aerith was able to talk to Cloud in his dreams in FFVII, but she was also able to communicate with Cloud while he was awake. We know that because after he woke up in the Forgotten City, he heard her voice at a distance that was impossible for him to actually hear with his ears. After Cloud's party leaves the spiral shaped house and arrives at an intersection in the Forgotten City, Cloud says, "Aerith's voice... coming from there?" They had to go through part of the forest, around the lake, into another spiral shaped house, up two flights of stairs, down the crystal staircase, and into a different building before they actually found her. Cloud could never have actually heard her voice over that distance. He was awake at the time, so it shows that Cloud's able to communicate with Aerith when she's not physically present without being in a state of sleep. We see the same thing in AC when Cloud says, "but I let you die", and he's touching the ribbon on his arm. He's also awake then, but he seems to be talking directly to Aerith. We also hear Aerith say, "Let's go.... Cloud...." to him while he's awake. It doesn't appear that Cloud needs to be asleep and having dreams in order to communicate with Aerith. |

Good point. I never really thought of it that way before. I wonder how he's able to hear it....it's just...impossible if you think of it. How can he hear it? I mean they might be in love and all that - but even so, is it still possible to hear one's voice even from a far away distance?? O__O even if a woman loved her husband with her life, she wouldnt be able to hear his voice is he was in chicago and she was in new york. maybe its cause aeris is an ancient and has special powers or summat. "Let's go cloud" in the trailer...well, there is a possiblity that in the movie she says it at a different time and they just edited it and inserted it into that particular moment in the trailer... I hope not though!! it sounds so dramatic that way!! I almost cried!! "IS THAT AERIS'S VOICE?! It's AERIS'S VOICE!!!!" *scratches brother in excitement*

LOL. I was happy too. Well, I hope it isn't in a dream or something like that. Where ever they are, I would hope they could be with each other physically. I think Cloud kind of needs Aerith, wether it's a dream or not. He seems so lost without her. If she is with him physically, that would be great because he could touch her, and they could embrace, or whatever the Advent Children dudes have planned. If she is talking to him mentally, or in a dream, whatever, he still needs her. He needs her reassurance, a guiding hand. He needs to forgive himself before he could ever start to get better. She's like his angel. |

Lalalala Oh were you talking? Sorry I wasn't listening.

I think it may have been a physical connection or meeting because Aerith reaches for him at the endo of the game so I figure that since they have that najor cliffhanger, that she managed to meet him and Cloud can only meet her around her place of death because her spirit is still there. But since she managed to meet him in the lifestream at the end of the game and Cloud did have a few run ins with the life stream, he may be able to physicaly enter the life stream to talk to Aerith, or she brings him there. |

You just want them to meet physically because they are supposed to live happily ever after.*wink* I would be a little bummed if they didn't get to hold each other though.

Many of you have been wondering just how Cloud is able to communicate with Aerith:
To us, it appears that no matter the distance, Aerith can communicate with Cloud. The bond between them is so great that they can almost hear and feel each other from a great distance, even in dreams, even in death. This is what they show us in the game and in AC, but the point they are trying to illustrate is that they might not hear each other's voices, but their love is so strong that their "hearts call out to each other." Very cliche, I know, but that's how I interpret it ^^ (In your face Clotis!!) |

I think that their love for one another certainly plays a part in it. If they were just friends, then why can't Tifa communicate with Aerith? Elmyra and her husband were in love, but they didn't communicate with one another beyond death. That makes me think that Aerith being Cetra must be part of it, but that can't be the only reason - or else Aerith should have been able to communicate with Zack's spirit. Aerith didn't even know that Zack was dead. Aerith was the only one who was able to hear the voices of the Cetra spirits in the Temple of Ancients. Cloud wasn't able to hear those voices. So it can't be Aerith's abilities as a Cetra alone that make them able to communicate with one another. It can't be love alone that makes them able to communicate, either, or else Elmyra would have been able to communicate with her dead husband's spirit and Barret should have been able to communicate with his dead wife. I think it must be a combination of their love for one another and Aerith's powers as a Cetra. |

Anastar's explanation makes my brain feel small. But that totally makes sense! *understands* And Zave, just because they were back to back in the trailers doesn't mean they aren't smart enough to turn around!LOL. |
