capitalism is dead

My theater was really into it. People seemed to love the film, and they were all talking about it afterwards. I guess it just depends on when you go. Don't get me wrong, Order of the Phoenix was my favorite of the books until Deathly Hallows came out. And as as fan of the book, I could appreciate certain things that were adapted into the film such as Umbridge's character and the possession scene at the end. But as a film, Order of the Phoenix failed big time in my opinion. It was the longest book and the shortest movie which lead to a horrendously fast pace. Not to mention, the most important part of the book and one of the most important scenes in the series was reduced to 10 seconds! The prophecy was a huge revelation, explaining why Voldemort attacked Harry in the first place and dictating that Harry really was the Chosen One. That information had been held back for the entire series up until that point, and it was cut down to a few seconds of explanation to cover up a few plot holes. Not to mention, the whole thing wasn't nearly as funny as the other films. This film, to me, was completely different. It had MUCH better pacing, the emotionality wasn't lost in a rush to cover all the plot points, and it was a great balance between humor and action. Prisoner of Azkaban was very good, but I guess I just felt the power of this film more. |

I loved the film. I’d even say that it was the best so far, but I’ll rewatch it first.
I love your theater! <3
Ahhh, I feel for you. I went through the same thing when I wasn’t so into the Prince Caspian movie but other non-readers adored it and called me an ‘elitist’. *sighs* That’s why I don’t push it whenever comic-book fans complain about their movie adaptations that they didn’t like but I loved…I know what it’s like to be on the ‘loyal fan’ side On to the movie- I thought the way they handled the Draco-Snape subplot was brilliant and Tom Felton’s performance was just amazing. I love how they scattered it throughout the film and how it just builds and builds up to the climax…they acted their socks off in that tower scene and I loved it. I didn’t like the attack on the Burrow. Not because the quality of the scene it was in any way bad but because seeing the Weasleys watch their home burning was painful. That look on Molly’s face! Yeah, Tonks and Remus are underused. No indication of their relationship at all, except for when she calls him ‘sweetheart’ Loved the moments between Daniel and Bonnie but they should have made Ginny feistier! We only had that once scene where she bellows at the Quidditch team But I had to laugh when Ron forces himself between them on the sofa and offers Harry a bite of pie like his sister had just done XDI adored the Ron/Hermione moments and Ron/Lavender kept me in stitches throughout the movie. That hospital scene was immensely sweet and hilarious at the same time…it was so great that they kept the “Er-My-Nee” scene! <3 …and wow, I really, really liked Hermione in this one! That is a mean feat for me because I’d just about given up on Emma Watson and her crazy eyebrow waggling  She’s really improved (about time!); no more over-the-top-ness and I hope she keeps it up in Deathly Hallows *crosses fingers* The final hour or so was breathtaking. Final cave scene was gorgeous, the tower scene was intense, and I had tears in my eyes when they’re gathered around Dumbledore, raise their wands, and banish the Dark Mark. I understand why they had to remove the final battle at Hogwarts—maybe they just wanted to save the battle at the school for the finale. This made the ending more of an emotional climax than a physical one, and I thought it was very well done. I agree with you, Sadhana, they did a great job pacing the movie and just generally putting it together and keeping the characters’ emotions at the forefront. That was what I also found sorely lacking in the OotP film. Okay, now I have this really, really weird question: remember when Lavender traces a heart on the glass and puts her and Ron’s initials in it? Did you guys notice that when they showed the initials through the other side of the glass, the “R + L” looked very, very like “L + S”? Like it’s the director’s foreshadowing for the revelation about Snape being in love with Lily. …I don’t know, maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me! |

In Loving Memory

Oh jeez, I just got back from the theaters and I loved HBP. The music, the battles, just about everything was fantastic. But, I do have one let down and that was the end. For HBP I never liked the ending in the book it just was too much of a prep for the next one instead of being it's on single movie. Yes, I understand it is the 2nd to last book and 3rd to last movie, but still I think it should have it's own merit instead of their next battle. Overall, though I did enjoy it. And afters seeing Draco I think he is my favorite character, just how you know the kid isn't "actually" evil even if he can be a jerk. I love seeing the sensitive side of characters and they perfectly displayed him as a nervous wreck throughout the film. Another factor of the movie I liked was all the focus on love. Except for Cho and Harry's kiss there hasn't been too much and I'm such a sap I need it. All the moments with every couple made we smile a little, from Ginny to Hermione and so on.
I don't recall seeing that, I looked at in the scene and I think it was still "R + L", but I wouldn't trust me. But it would be very sweet if so, seeing I'm an ultimate LilyxSnape fan. :3 I have a question for everyone now, who are your favorite characters in HP? Mine atm, is defiantly Draco. Like above, I love the innocence that seems to be deep inside of him with his sensitive side that didn't really wanna kill his headmaster, and may I mention he looked pretty nice in all of his outfits. |

I absolutely love this series, I don't understand some of the hatred for Ginny except there just wasn't enough of her in the series imo What're your guys's thoughts on her? What about the fanfiction community? what do you guys think? I'd love to join of course ^^ |
