Woot! Ron and Ginny look SO awesome and badass! And I love the brave, stalwart look on Neville's face.
Though I dunno why they had to go and put a spotlight on Hermione's bubz

Heh. I thought I was imagining things but...

Check out the size of her boobs on this poster compared to this poster
And the explanation:
Quote:

IMAX.com posted a similar poster with minor changes which included making Emma Watson appear more curvaceous.

This alteration prompted outrage among fans, and now, according to The Daily Mail, the enhanced IMAX poster was not approved by WB who said: "This is not an official poster. Unfortunately this image was accidentally posted on the Imax website. The mistake was promptly rectified and the image taken down."

Have to give this thread a nudge, Order of the Phoenix movie and Deathly Hallows are nearly upon us! 24 days til the movie, 34 til the book.

I'm getting increasingly excited about the movie. At first I wasn't all that bothered, but I can't wait to see Luna and also the Department of Mysteries scenes.

As for the book...I want it to come quickly, but then again, I don't! I can't believe this is the last one. I don't want it to be all over! I really hope that it is a satisfactory ending.

Just bought my tickets for the midnight showing B)

I'm having mixed feelings about the book now that it's practically upon us. I don't WANT this all to end, but I wanna know what happens....

I best not say too much about the movie incase I spoil someone since it's not been out long, but I do have to say Evanna Lynch/Luna Lovegood made the movie, made my day, made my whole year. She does a fantastic job of Luna and was miles better than what I expected, and I had high expectations! So adoreable, so dreamy, so likeable...I am very glad how she was portrayed! :D

HELLZ. YES. She was the cutest thing to EVER grace the Harry Potter screen! EVAR!!

SPOILAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARZ!

My over-all opinon of the movie was VERY high. It was the most accurate one since Chamber of Secrets.
My two main points of grief: they ruined one of the best quotes from the book, from any of the books. In OotP the book, Sirus' line "The world's not made up of good people and death eaters" was about Umbridge, acknowledging the gray area between totally good, and totally evil. However, in the movie they had Sirius direct the line on Harry, basically saying "It's okay to be bad, as long as you're not a death eater!" It lost A LOT of power that way, especially since Harry KNEW he wasn't a death eater.
The other really painful part was the fact that they had Cho, under Vertiserum, rat out the DA. The problem here is, what will drive Harry and Cho apart for the sixth movie? In fact, Cho was all pleasant in the movie, so it'll make no sense for Harry and the others to ostracize her. In fact, in the movies she's just become a real victim.

And yeah Lynx, Ginny had none of the spunk her book self did. They cut out all the scenes where she shows her true inner fire, so all we got to see was Ginny whipping out a couple hard core Reductor spells. (though, I did like how they threw in Ginny looking hurt when Hermione mentioned Cho and Harry)

In response to the Ginny stuff...

SPOILAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARZ!

I thought Ginny was pretty robbed in this movie. She was one of my favourite characters in this book, but she was hardly in the movie at all. Sure, we saw how good she is at magic, we knew that already. What she did in the DA and in the Dept. of Mysteries was impressive, but having her there simply as extra muscle seemed a bit flat for her character. She's meant to be involved almost as much as Ron and Hermione in this book (as are Neville and Luna), and I just didn't get the feeling that she had much of an input. The same goes for Neville, though we did get that touching scene where he tells Harry about his parents and Bellatrix. I hope he kicks her ass in Deathly Hallows. As for Luna, she was in it much more than Ginny and Neville, so no complaints there. ;)

And...what in the world was with the Cho story? Such a huge build up and hardly anything happened. I felt the same with the book, but my Lord did the movie eliminate just any depth she had. Not that I minded too much, I never liked her in the story and found her pointless, but the hype for the kiss was huge so I figured she'd be in it a BIT more than she was.

Warning, unmarked spoilers beware....

I really like how Luna's character was portrayed in movie-acting. I always thought of a loony Luna as what she is illustrated like in the book, but I was wrong!!!! On Ginny, her role in the movie was shorter, uglier and inaccurate compared to the book. It disappoints me that she will be Harry's girlfriend in Book 6...I had an ultimate love for Daniel...keyword there would be had.

Cho and Harry's kiss... <_< argh, I just dun like that scene, I dun like her at all.
I thought OOTP movie was kinda...short, despite how many hours it ran, it needed more, it didn't explain some points clearly. Anyway, I'm very excited at Deathly Hallows... :fangirl: I like a single Harry though.

Water tribe what!
Watched it online until I feel up to going to the theatre to watch it, but all in all, it was all right. The scene changes were a bit jarring (though sometimes that was a good thing, well done and added to the story and the effect of the plot so good for them :) ).

Ootp was a huge book so I think they did a good job in keeping all the important bits in the movie, making sure you still new what was going on. Also if you pay attention to the headlines of the newspapers, you can see other threads of the book that isn't quite mentioned in the movie but still relevant. Every detail adds to the plot (it has to really, to have it all make sense within the time frame).

I thought the Cho thing was too hyped for what we actually saw. Plus it was never really resolved either, but I guess at that point in the story it didn't really matter so much. LOVED the Occumulency classes with Snape (Alan Rickman well never cease to be 10000% of awesomeness) and the DA stuff was cute. Also the Department of Mysteries scene at the end was really great from what I could see (the screen was a little dark lol - really need to see it in theatres). I was as disappointed with Sirius' death in the movie though as with the book - a bit too quick and sudden, but then that's exactly how the death was so I guess that's all right. I do like how he called Harry 'James' though, that was great (was that in the book?) Also loved the final fight between Voldy and Dumby.

I'm very sad though, that they didn't include a few things. First, Ginny. Save proving she can do a few spells she was practically invisible (though I do like that moment where she looked hurt at the mention of Cho). I don't know HOW they're going to make her relationship with Harry in book 6 believable, especially when the relationship was already teetering on ridiculously paced in the book itself. Also, Luna. She was amazing, but I was missing that final speech she gave Harry at the end of the book, about the veil. To me it felt like it was relevant, and in the book they somehow seemed more connected than in the movie at the same moment. But oh well, they already had their little moment earlier. Also, the scene with Dumbledore and Harry after the fact. I know they were pressed for time or something, but they could have made that scene a little bit longer to match the intensity of the scene in the book, because that scene had me in tears. That was a big disappointment.

But all in all, I'd give it...like...7.5/10.

So on to Deathly Hallows. Cannot WAIT. To really prepare for it I have to read stuff on what happened in the last few books because my memory's totally fading on most of the books. But instead of doing the work, I think I'll just listen to some mugglecasts because they talk about theories for book 7 based on the rest of the series. So at least I'll be a little bit more ready to read the final book. Yay!

Your reservation is lost?! :o You poor, poor thing.

I got my reservation months ago, and I'm going to go pick it up at midnight July 21 with my best friend. :D So excited! I've never been to a midnight release before for a book, but I've been reading this series for 10 years now and it was the magic of my childhood. Might as well go out in a big party at Borders in the middle of the night!
