I just found out the title too! I'm very excited. We're almost there, everyone! The last book is on its way. AHHHH. The Deathly Hallows... I wonder what that means.

I remember for the last book, the title was released about a half a year before the release date was announced. So who knows? Maybe we won't have to wait long to find out when the new book's coming out.

As far as the title's concerned...I have no idea what it could possibly mean. Not even a theory. I'll leave that to everyone else lol

Deathly Hallows? Could it have been Godric's Hallow? As far as I know, Harry did say he will go there in one of the last pages of HBP. :P I'm too dull to jump in conclusions...

rotfl I guess I'm the only one who thinks the latest book title sounds like something I'd find on FF.net, furthering my proofz that J.K. Rowling has spent too much time on the internets.

Sorry, but book 6? I thought some crazy fan was impersonating her.

I'm such a stick in the mud, I know. XD; I'll still read the last book, because I must know what happens to my Snape, but I'm so iffy.

100% agreed. Book 6 = bad fanfic period. And ya, I completely forgot about Godric's Hallow! I thought 'Deathly Hallows' seemed a little bit ...silly. But I trust JK to bring back the awesomeness that was sadly lost over time for the last book. I'm sure she'll finish with a bang...um...I hope.

Oh and if you guys are wondering about theories and such for the title, just go over to www.mugglenet.com. There's already a theory section! I haven't checked it out yet myself but I'm planning to take a look a little later.

She'll probably write side books, like the "Magical Creatures and Where to Find Them", but it's hard for me to imagine her writing another set about the trio after this. I would be interested in maybe one book or two about James's school days.

About book 6, I can't remember if I posted it in this thread, so I'll summarize real quick.
Book 6 appeared to be OOC, but to be honest we'd never seen the characters in the situations presented in book 6. Ron had never had a girlfriend, Hermione had never needed to be jealous, and Harry was moving on from Cho and the death of Sirius, we'd seen Ginny being herself in book 5 already, and I can't think of anymore of the usual complaints. Personally, I LOVED book 6
Deathly Hallows has a very CREEPY, final ring to it that gives me goosebumps every time I see it. Doesn't sound fanficcy at all to me, just a very solemn title for the last book.
And JKR's said that she won't write any more HP books, so judging by what I know of her personality I'm gonna believe her.

Edit

Also, for those of you who hadn't noticed, the title was released yesterday on the winter solstice. Recall in OOTP: "...at the solstice will come a new... and none will come after..." At the winter solstice, a new title will be revealed, but as this is the last book, no more will be released.

Jo....I love you xD

And ya, I completely forgot about Godric's Hallow!

I may be mistaken but isn't it Godric's Hollow? I've heard lots of people theorising over the word "Hallow" so if it was already in another book, there wouldn't be much to theorise over.

Haha ya my brother just let me know yesterday when I mentioned it to him. Hollow not Hallow. Well there goes that 'theory'!

What made book 6 fanficcy was the way it was written, not the plots as much. "Chest monster"? Give me a damn break. I rooted for Ginny/Harry, I really did, but the way it was put together was just so cheesy and unreal that I ended up disliking it.

Ginny herself would have been more likeable had she actually had real character development rather than being tossed around like a ragdoll for these 6 books.

IMO the saving grace of book 6 was the Snape and Draco plot. God, I just can't stop reading the ending.

So much for a mistaken theory... o_O; oh well...

You actually made some point, Zelda. In books 3-5 Ginny kept dating on guys whom she ends up dumping them. Just like what she said in HBP, she never threw away her feelings for Harry. But it still pisses me off. <_< At least she should've waited for Harry 'til he's tired for Cho. The two of them suddenly hooking up together doesn't really excite me.

I wonder who will be the new headmaster and will Dumbledore still play an important role in seven? A lot of questions haunt me now....

Uh...but she DID. Harry and Cho "broke up" at the middleish of book 5, and Ginny and Harry started dating toward the end of book 6, a full year later!
