Wow! So she is a change from the usual energetic-youngest-girl-team-member . Usually the hero would never have the youngest girl be a love interest in the FF series (unless you wanna count Eiko Carl from FFIX as Zidane's potential love interest :P).
I always thought she was more of a dancer. XD What is her main fighting style? |

Penelo has no fighting style. She fights the same way any member of the party with no weapons do. She makes no mention of her having a brother too. It's annoying how her info is waaay off. I made Penelo carry a staff. Because it's the closest weapon available to her from the knives category. **** It's fun playing the game with my sister. We produce the wittiest banther. Sister: (in 40 hours of gameplay) Isn't it weird that for a FF game that has lots of airships in their world, you're still walking? Me: Wait! I think I can use Balflear's ship! Both: Yay! *much later* Both: that sucks. The airship is so boring. And here I am ranting on X's ship. >.< Vaan doesn't even get to explore it. It's basically teleporting. Sigh. |

*is trolling around in the thread for spoilers* Well, I think the changes shouldn't be too shocking. Afterall, we do have to consider the fact that this isn't our usual FF series team. *shrugs* At least, we know it isn't Nomura...

Love reading your reactions to FFXII so far, Anti! Nothing much to comment on since I'm keeping far, far, FAR AWAY from any FFXII websites/news, but keep us posted as you go!
 Has it been announced he'll be doing FFXIII? There've been hints, but nothing concrete yet, right? I think it's good they're not relying on Nomura so much... SE needs to delve deeper into their talent pool rather than just depend on him alone, especially if he decides to leave SE for whatever reason (as so many of their other well-known employees have already done). He was heavily involved in so many other games at the time, anyway, that putting FFXII on his back would've probably caused the quality of his work to suffer. And at the risk of being stoned to death for heresy I'm loving the deviations I've heard so far about FFXII (Penelo =/= hyperactive-female-on-sugar is AWESOME news). And if Nomura's absence is what allowed it to happen, then, well... No complaints here.
Blah, not another disappointing airship. <_< I know nothing's been able to combat the absolute sexiness of FFVII's Highwind for me, but it's still annoying how developers have been skimping on this part. I might've missed this before, Anti, but is there a world map? As in, DQVIII-like world map to explore? Or they still sticking to the boring 'choose location from menu' method? |

World map is a bit like DQ8 (saying this because it wasn't as huge as DQ8 that player would get lost in a forest), at least not like X. Terrain is awesome! One moment, your team would be walking around a dryland, sometime later, same place would have pools and rain because it's a raining season. Nice touch. You can run around until you get tired. Or you can use teleportation stones on red save points to return to past areas with same red save points. As for my gameplay. I am now hating stairs. Yes, Barret I finally understand your pain and shall join your anti-club of said inanimate object. My head keeps saying "Are we there yet?" *hits head on wall*. Am now on 40th floor (and fighting God only knows how many enemies). 50+ to go. Whoopee. |

Nope, but he has hinted about it pretty strongly. I love the old cliches. And, considering that all of these cliches made FF what it is today, I have no complaints if they continue to use them. Fine, FFXII is different... but I don't have to like it! Actually, I am not too upset that Penelo isn't a little ball of energy like Yuffie, Selphie, Eiko, and Rikku. Those girls were a little too much at times... >.< Anti-R... can you give us a quick rundown on the personalities of the characters?

Vaan: childish, light hearted. Loves his brother (he'd bring flowers to him when he used to be alive), shows strong concern for Penelo. Loves to adventure. Makes mention he wants to be a space pirate, then oddly that drops off the rest of the game. o.0; Ashe: Serious. I can honestly say she has anger issues. Is mopey about her dead husband, it doesn't help when he keeps showing up. Is conflicted on the route she's taken to regain more power to fight Archadia. Balfear: Has dad issues. Used to be important (he was a Judge), but ran away and chose that profession of a space pirate instead. A bit of a mercenary. Knows a lot of shady people. Fran: Serious. Has connection with the "mists" as the rest of her race. Independent, and she makes her choices without regrets. Basch: Extremely loyal. He wasn't as grouchy as Auron though, as he would hang around with Penelo and Vaan. Penelo: happy. But restrained. Is very concerned to Vaan. I can't say much about her, though. |

Anti-R, and what can you tell about Ashe's dead husband? I mean, about his personality. The question itself may sound weird, 'cause currently I'm in two states:a ) obsessed b ) ill

Haha, yep, completely understand. Here's hoping FFXIII (and there will be one, and if there's not I will most definitely eat my brother's smelly sneakers) will meet your expectations, then! ![]() Yeah, I agree about the Penelo thing. Yuffie worked well for me, but the rest were a little too hyperactive for my tastes.
Ooh, very nice! I love these small touches! And me, being, well... me... I'd probably revisit these places over and over just to see the landscapes with and without pools! XD Yay, world map exploration makes a return! ![]()

Yuffie owns me. ![]() Anyways...
Well Ashe doesn't say anything about him at all yet in my game, she's quite private on the matter. And his spirit doesn't talk either. He'd just look at her and smile, and she follows him. T.T But he did a lot of supernatural things everytime he shows up. It was awesome. XD
Hell, YEAH!!! Evil EVIL RPG objects of doom! Face our divine punishment!!! |

I do have the feeling he was a cheerful type, though. And he was obviously brave. And that he takes his position as a future ruler seriously. SPOILERS! He helped Ashe get the rock from Rothwell's tomb. Twice. He stopped her from destroying it later. He paved inaccessible areas for the party and would lead them to the place they had to go. |

Okay, thanks for the information. If only he was a playable character even for that moments he was shown... Sweet dreams... Reaction for spoilers: Poor Rasler, but very useful though. Thanks again, Anti-R

He sounds like Zidane. Wow... :o So, instead of the brooding hero cliche, we have a brooding heroine... Interesting... Sounds like the typical scoundrel. So Basch is Auron-esque? I can live with that! ![]() Thankies! Yeah, I think I am easily amused. I remember how entranced I was at the fact that Zidane's feet made different noises in FFIX depending on what he was walking on (stone vs. wood vs. grass). Yeah, didn't Tifa tell Barret to "stop acting like a retard and climb"? LMAO!!!
