Umm... that's not quite how I would describe it. Faulkner is a modernist writer, and the difficult in his writing therefore doesn't lie in antiquity so much as its... subjectivity? He was very interested in mapping subjective experience, as modernist writers were, and that means that it can be very hard to tell what's going on in the story. I don't know how else to describe it. But why shy away from a challenge? It is a great book, so go on and read it.

Well, I have seen some of Faulkner's work and he seemed to be a bit of a mysterious writer, such as leaving out details or refering to unknown people in the novel. And i've heard makes many connections to European literary modernism. Well i'll try it out, I don't wanna miss out on one of the best books of this century, right? How long is the book, I wanna see if I could get it, finish it, and return it before I go to California. |

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. Egads, I'm sorry but it's boring me to death. I need to go to the library. |

Strange, I thought that was the most interesting of the series, with New Moon being the most boring, haha. Finished Coraline. Fantastic, and weirdly scary. On to the Road. Enjoying it so far but damned if it's not bleak. |

A lot of people found New Moon boring. Most of them say it's because there's no Edward in it. Personally? I was glad. He was a boring character that I'm glad wasn't featured constantly anymore. Plus I love Jacob and the whole wolfpack thing, so that added interest. It was actually my favorite. |

I personally thought NM was boring because Bella was at a stall point- she wasn't going to move forward with her life, she was only going to sit and wait and mourn her losses. That's what made it boring for me. Eclipse had her picking up and making an attempt to move forward despite obstacles.*pretends that the 4th book, the movies, and the horrid fandom do not exist* I'm almost finished with the Historian- a nice Dracula book with tons of history mixed in. I'm excited to see the end. ^^ I'm also rereading Queen of Camelot. <3 |

I'm currently finishing up Resident Evil: Underworld. I bought it like 2 years ago? But I didn't start reading it now cause it was misprinted. So I had to wait for a library around my area to get it so I can interloan it. I have like around 60-80 pages left. After I finish that, I'll be starting Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. |

Oh, yes. Bella... Eclipse is just blah for me. It seems like a repeat of Twilight (just a bunch of boring Edward/Bella), which I thought was boring in itself. Anyway, better get out of this topic, being as I've already stated the books I'm reading. |

That explains so much! There were moments when I thought, 'this would probably be better in film form', like when he was talking about the "bolt of lightning illuminating a scarred but handsome face. It was Dodge, grown-up". Dodge also turned Stu-ish, why am I not surprised? I think I'll pass on the next books, though a movie version might be cool to see. There are fans who ship Alice/Mad Hatter??? Huh. I have a copy of The Historian too! Will start it when I get into the mood Right now, I'm in the middle of The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. I'm enjoying it, but I also think it's way too long ![]() |

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. There was some improvement in Seeing Redd, but I'm not sure if its enough to convince me that the next book will be worth reading.I should clarify and say that fans of the original AiW ship Alice/Hatter. I'm not sure whether there are shippers of that pairing for these novels, though it wouldn't surprise me. The Historian is very interesting- that's all I can say. XD I would spoil it otherwise. ^^ I'm just about finished with that, and I've started on The Shadow Queen by Anne Bishop. Hoping this one will be good. . . |

My copy is 321 pages long, but despite it's relatively short length it can take a bit of time due to its difficulty. It took me about a week and a half, so unless you're leaving for California very soon, you should be able to finish. |

Hrm, I'm going in about a week but since I'm off school now I probably could finish it up. Well I'm a fast reader and I need something to do so that's a good plan. ^^ I began reading for the second time Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl. He is a holocaust survivor and he is saying the psychological view on the holocaust rather than the horror of it. It's a good read and not too long, imo. I like it, but that's because I'm |

Hmm, I'm kinda being a book whore right now because i'm going back and forth between books depending on how I feel that day, but looking at my current stack, what's there are: Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (my favorite out of all three...HAD to re-read it after watching the movie last week xD) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (.....the movie is coming out and i wanna refresh my mind xD) A Storm of Swords by Georg RR Martin (really good fantasy book that's taken me like a year and a half to finish -.- damn classes and procrastinating) The Ruins (I got it from some lady at school, started reading it, put it down, saw the movie with mummy dearest and decided to pick it up) and Interview with a Vampire (for like the 50000th time because mummy dearest wanted to 'discuss' it and i don't remember anything from it) so yea...i can't just pick one book and finish it and leave it alone, can i? xD |
