In regards to the monsters that look vaguely like Nanaki --- what role did Nanaki's race play in the protection to the planet.  Are they tied to the Cetra at all?  If so, were they also corrupted by Jenova?  (perhaps that's what these critters are, Nanaki-like Jenova puppets).  Also, anybody remember the Gi from the game?  Connection there?  Those guys seem to have been forgotten as well.

Hmmm... it was never said that Nanaki's race played any part in protecting the Planet. His father, Seto, and his mother both protected Cosmo Canyon from the Gi tribe, but I think Nanaki was the first of his ract to take part in protecting the Planet. The Gi tribe just attacked Cosmo Canyon, so I wouldn't expect them to have a part in the movie. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see more about Cosmo Canyon in the movie, since Cosmo Canyon is a center for studying the Planet and the Lifestream.

Yes, I definitely hope we see more of Nanaki... though I hope to see a lot more of a LOT of characters (though not the Turks... I was never so crazy about them).  Man, Square is sure gonna have to squeeze a LOT into a 70 minute movie...

I agree... I was never a big fan of the Turks and I'm rather disappointed to see that they have such a large role in the movie. I'd rather see more about different characters.

Ack! Thanks for adding them for me, Anastar! Busy as a bee on speed, I was.

I think they are giving the Turks way too much time. Before Crisis never really interested me (except getting to see Cloud). I really hope there is more to FFVII:AC than Square is letting on...

I agree that they're giving the Turks way too much time. If someone had asked me which characters I wanted to see in an FFVII sequel, I'm not sure I would have even thought of the Turks. <_< BC does let us see more of what happened in the years previous to FFVII, though, including the birth of Avalanche, Zack, Hojo, Pres Shinra, and possibly Aerith. I hope that BC isn't going to concentrate on just the Turks. If so, it'll be lame.

I also hope you're right that AC will include more than what Square has shown us so far. I honestly think it will, because the Highwind appears to be in it, and we haven't seen it yet. The Northern Crater's also in it, and we haven't seen that yet. There were hints that Cosmo Canyon would be in it last summer, too. All we can do is wait and see at this point, but I hope you're right.

The only thing with the Turks that I would be really interested in is if they did something about Vincent as a Turk. Hopefully his past will be shown a little more in DC. The Turks are cool as a little bit of comedy relief with how Reno and Rude act, but it is kinda boring to me to see a whole game about them.

I still think they should show Nanaki's past. I think it would be much more interesting than showing how a division of Shinra works.

Very true. I'd love to see more of Nanaki's past as well as how he meets his mate. However, I think both have more chance of happening in DC than in AC. :( I also hope to learn more about Vincent's past as a Turk, but again... I think there's more chance of that happening in DC.

However, a secret of the Turks is supposed to be revealed in BC. Is this some secret that Vincent knows about? I have a feeling that secret is somehow connected to Geostigma, and that's how Vincent knows so much about it.

Yeah, I can see it having a connection with something in AC or DC. It wouldn't be a huge secret if it was directly connected with something in FFVII because we would all know about it by now. And yeah, it does make you think more about it involving how Vincent would know more about Geostigma than anyone else. Kinda scary in a way to think that Shinra would know what would happen to the world before it happened.

I was thinking more along the lines that Shinra didn't know what it would do. For example, the Turks may have been developing a secret weapon without realizing what the side effects of the fall out would be.

Or perhaps the secret is the orphans? What if Hojo found a way to produce Sephiroth clones as test tube babies so that they don't have parents? The DNA is simply extracted and cloned, so that Lucrecia's aren't needed. That's where the orphans come from in AC.

I dunno why you want Nanaki's tatoo's, either!

Maybe the limited edition extras include AC renderings of the other FFVII characters they left out of the movie, like Bugenhagen, Lucrecia, Elmyra, etc? :o
