I'm excited about the movie 'n all, but I've always thought that sequels of movies, games, etc. are NEVER as good as the original just because of things like the influences from fans. The creaters don't think as much for themselves. In a way, it's kind of sad...

I agree with you, Hades(can i call you that?). That's why we have what we call the "sequel slump" where the 'continuations' of movies and games almost never live up to the original. And thats precisely why sequels that were already conceptualized way before the release of the original are so great. Remember the Harry Potter books? The Star Wars movies? Their creators were able to conceptualize them without any yapping from the fans about what should happen and who should get together with who.

No matter what Square plans to do, (just because there are so many interpretations) at the end of it all, someone's going to end up happy and someone's going to be upset. I just know it...

Perhaps Square has tried to find a way to please everybody (Good luck with that Square)

And you know, that idea kind of upsets me. Because then, that would really make AC nothing more than fanservice with a built-in plot.

But what the heck! Square has come up with awesome plots in the past. Like Cloud's Girl, i also trust them.

Cloud's Girl

I personally think Cloud is daydreaming during the flowerfield scene.  I dunno...  I just think Cloud would be more excited than he appears to actually come in contact with Aeris again.  But I know that Square will put in more of Aeris as MORE of a dream/memory in AC since they did say the Aeris fans won't be disappointed.  And I trust them.  That scene was just a teaser for the fans.  So I think he's daydreaming.  A little tease before the real scenes involving Aeris.

Despite the way it's presented in the trailer, I'm wondering if the flower field scene is Cloud's memory of something that happened during the last two years. The scene would make a whole lot more sense to me if it actually happened about a year ago (or more), and Cloud simply remembers it as he approaches the Forgotten City. I'm hoping it's that kind of revision that we see in certain scenes.

And I think Cloud has been confused and down on himself the past two years.  Square hasn't been able to communicate anything that Cloud has been doing for the past two years yet.  So I wouldn't get worried about there being no evidence about Cloud trying to find Aeris again.

They're certainly keeping us guessing about what's been happening during the last two years. It was clearly stated more than once that he was living in solitude, but the implications in the film festival were different (although very vague).

The way I see it is that Square didn't have a whole lot of time to put the film festival material together (as far as we know). They'd only completed about 30% of the movie at that time, and they had to put it together into something cohesive and understandable for the film festival. Since Square had to work with what they already had completed, I'm not sure that it represented the plot accurately.... especially since Nomura has said that some of the scenes are going to be revised.
