the answers is not, she would not heal him beacuse shes just a memory, nothing more...and in an interview, people of square said: the theme of the movie will not be soft, LIKE HEALING, it will be about SUPERVIVENCE so, its not make sentence...and aeris is a memory of cloud, nothing more. Notice aeris flowers in her flowefield: white and yelow flowers...now notice the flowerfield were cloud is wih aeris: the same flowers, why?? because cloud knew aeris was in the promised land, which was the place were the cetra would be happy...he kenwe aeris loved flowers more than anything else, so he think her promised land must be like this, with flowers.... but is a memory.... he spent his life haunted by a beautfull memory |

Yeah, I read somewhere that the scene with Aeris was Cloud daydreaming. I guess it would be a bigger impact when he does see her again. |

O___O I really never thought about any of this!! (Yes, I read ALL that you wrote! Everyone! ^^) All of these possibilities...o.o Yes, I'm sure Aerith will be a lot more in the movie then shown or known about. I mean, THEY WILL show her face. So when they do show her face, it must be an extremely important/great!! part! Because, if they didn't show her face when Cloud was meeting with her, then perhaps they're saving it for when CLOUD HIMSELF actually looks into her eyes or something! That would be so dramatic and cute~ (Don't mind my little fantasy world!) But it does seem possible that when they do show her face, Cloud will be there! |

Aerith's little sister

I don't think you're silly. If you ask me, I think she didn't go through with him because of several reasons. Reasons which I myself don't understand ( or I understand but what I think may not be logical) .I don't think she's a memory. If she was, why does everyone still remember who she is and what she has done? Unless , they all think she is (except Cloud). But the part where she touched Cloud's arm is actually still a riddle to me as I'm not sure what really happens :P. |

I don't know, even if Aerith heal him, that doesn't mean he would live happpily and moved on with Tifa and others if this is what we're worried about. There are lots of instances, where one partner sacrifices for the other, and the one alive continues to carry his or her love for the dead partner til the day he or she dies. I would think that Aerith's light squeeze is to remind Cloud that even though he is sick, she believes in him. That he can overcome this emotional struggle and find his strength back. ![]() They don't even have to exchange words about his conditions. Unlike Tifa and Cloud, where we see Tifa "reprimanding" CLoud not to give up etc. Between Aerith and Cloud, just a touch is sufficient to transmit the message. I really do believe they are connected in a special way like that

I don't think that Aerith heals Cloud when she touches his arm for several reasons: 1. Regardless of whether the flower field sequence is a dream, or Cloud's imagination, or a memory, or what - it is most likely taking place in Cloud's mind rather than in reality. Aerith wouldn't be able to heal Cloud unless she was meeting him in reality. 2. It was never shown in FFVII that a spirit was able to heal a living person with a touch. 3. Aerith wouldn't heal just Cloud - she'd also want to heal the children, too. 4. Cloud would feel even more guilty if Aerith healed him. From Cloud's POV, he let her die. If she gave him new life after he let her die, I think Cloud would feel even guiltier. |

Remember that it was a dream, you can't help what happens on it. I think that he has being thinking and dreaming of Aerith on those 2 years, but we have only seen a few of his memories and one of his dreams. I'm sure that she touching him, where he had the Geostigma scar, didn't healed him, because it was a dream. I think that, that part was suposed to be symbolic (he saw her in a beatiful place, full of flowers were she might have liked to be, and where he could be reunited with her, Cloud's view of the/his Promised Land, perhaps?), a part in wich Cloud even when he knows that he's dying decides to fight once again and to save the children. And that the pink ribbon in the scar, show that Aerith is his strenght. Those are my 2 cents. |

Cloud's Wife

You know, I've been thinking a lot about this, and I think there's more to that shot then what we've seen... (well obviously movie-wise...) But, if it's just Aeris's spirit in the field, then how could she TOUCH him like that? Could Square be telling us that she's be revived, or Cloud has gone off to the Promised Land in this scene? I think the fact that she actually CAN touch him is very significant; forgive me if someone has disected this theory already. And what about the quote? You've come... even though you're about to break. Does this suggest that Cloud has sought out Aeris's help? Or has Aeris contacted him and has she been waiting? Could he be reluctant to meet her, lost in his memories? |

Here is my opinion: No. And yes. I think both ways are possible. I don't think she's healing Cloud, like some of you said, she's just a memory. BUT, I believe she's actually visiting him, on the way to the Ancient City,[color] and she talks to him. But for that reason, that is the only one I could think of. I've inly read a few posts in this thread, but I just wanted my opinion. ![]() No. She is visiting him, but the only reason she touches his arm is to just feel him one more time. we all know that Aeris liked, even maybe loved cloud, and she wanted to see him again. I am leaning more towards a no, because I thought that straight away when Aly asked this question. I still stick with it. I know this post is all mixed up, but maybe you'll see my point. |
