Someone, I think it was Clorith said that the sleeve was blown back by the wind when he was flying and that exposed his ribbon. That makes since I don't think Cloud would take off his sleeve in a fight with Sephiroth that wouldn't be very "badass" of him. |

Hmmm... I guess that makes sense. But here's another pic from Daeya.org where he's "climbing" the buildings with his swords before fighting Sephiroth, and he doesn't have the sleeve on here, either: ![]() In the larger version of the pic, you can see some pink on his left arm which may be the ribbon. |

I swear these scenes will make me faint. I am loving how all these little touches Square is putting into this stuff just means so much. Whether his sleeve is blown back or taken off just to show the ribbon, there is obvious symbolism in it. Otherwise Square wouldn't have put it in. I love how they work. But these scenes will probably be some of the said revisions they were making. So I'm sure it will be cleared up by the time the movie is released. |

That's probably the reason for the conflicting scenes. I wonder if they did a few things like that during the film festivals to keep us guessing? They only had about a month to put a 25 minute trailer together for the first film festival. I wonder if they just used whatever they had to make a 25 min. trailer that would be interesting to a film festival audience without worrying about how accurately it portrayed the actual plot of the movie? As I understand it, their main goal at the film festival was primarily to show off their skill at CG movie rendering. |

gasp* Dual Blade Wielder! *coughKH2cough* heehee loving the pics alright... I hope AC will portray Aerith talking to Cloud's mind every now and then, since their meeting on the flowerfield... it'll be symbolic..like Aerith is always by his side, though not physically.

I'm sure this is how every FF fan feels, but here goes anyway: I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT AC!!!! Being the CloudxAeris fan that I am, I honestly wish Cloud finds a way to bring Aeris back to life in AC so that they can be together; but deep down inside, I get this feeling that something like that probably won't happen. It's Square we're talking about...and if they were to go ahead and end AC that way, it would have been too predictable since it's what most AerisxCloud fans would have been hoping for. Some people would probably even consider it lame...iono... From what I've seen of trailers, I kind of think that the farthest Square will go with Aeris is to bring her back in spirit form to help Cloud overcome his tragic past and save the world. *cries* It looks like Cloud's the only one who can hear her voice, so "Let's go...Cloud..." is probably something she (in spirit form) says when she helps guide him to defeat Sephy and the other clones.I seriously can't see Cloud and Tifa together. Throughout the game, I got the impression that they were just friends even if Tifa did care a lot about him. So getting back to AC, it'll be a big bummer AND a big shock if Cloud somehow ends up with Tifa. That wouldn't make any sense anyway. I'm pretty sure that Square had intended Aeris and Cloud as a couple even though their growing love had been tragically cut short. I think SE pretty much shows this concept through other games such as FF Tactics and Kingdom Hearts. I'm crossing my finger and hoping that Square isn't planning on dropping a bomb on us all by doing something as crazy as putting Cloud with Tifa. Scary, but it's still a possibility though...you know...one of those "It's time to leave the past behind and move on with life" kind of stories. <_< |

* That's what i thought too at first. But now with what Nomura said about pleasing both factions, I'm not really that sure Ya know, i think they're going to leave the movie open-ended. Will Cloud follow Aeris into the Promised Land or will he stay with Tifa then... Credits roll

If he stayes with Tifa, we'll kill Square. Ookay? ^^ To me, I didn't take Tifa as a 'threat' to Cloud and Aerith's relationship. Even if I hadn't had chose Cloud to be all flirty with her, he didn't seem to be influenced when he was with her like he was with Aerith. He wasn't super kind to her or anything, and he worries/laughs and all first when he met Aerith. So, yeah yeah yeah. Square would NEVER in their right minds make the ending CloTi. The CloRith, CloTi/other fans are sure to want to have the true pairing solved by now, but the only way Square won't get blown up in the face is for them to hint, hint hint.--again. (-3-) I want Cloud to die, that's cruel of me and all .. but I'd rather have that then some reincarnation little girl version of Aerith. It's cute but little Aerith can't be with Cloud, hopefully Square woudn't do something like that. When I played FFVII, I had the impression that Tifa was Barret's wife or something, they looked real close. Cloud and Tifa never had this bond thing going on, but Cloud and Aerith seemed to be able to read each other or something like that, and that's special. Or maybe the ending will show smth like after Cloud+others (Aerith's spiritual form) helps his save the world, Aerith dissapears once more they'll show him crying (hopefully) smiling, and saying "I'll continue to search for the Promised Land.. because" .. blah and blah. Well it's not entirely Clorith, but it's leaning towards it. Tifa smiling, "I'll help you" ~Whee, an FFVII ending. Can't repeat that, can't they? Yeah, my rambles are weird. Or FF8's? Instead of Squall getting lost in the white whitish place in the ending, we'll put Cloud in that position.--And then he sees light, beautiful music, == end! We can trust the Japanese since they feel so strongly about their culture, besides there's only one soul mate a person, and Cloud's one is Aerith. The past isn't just the past, memories aren't just memories, there's way more than that. Cloud woudn't be the same Cloud if it weren't for Aerith. In Cloud's point of view, he feels like he owes his life to Aerith or whatever. He'd never be satisfied if Aerith forgave him simply, he's not that sort of person. And if he went with Tifa, Aerith will be sad. Then Cloud is gonna have to owe her more XD yeah, sorry . |

I think Square's already done enough of the hinting stuff: FF Tactics and Kingdom Hearts. Anyone with a mind should have already figured it out by now...if not...they're probably never going to. I really think it's about time they drop the hints and focus on what they really want to happen.
I second that. I never saw her as anything more than one of Cloud's good companions. They were never even true childhood friends to begin with. Unless the player chose to be nice to her, Cloud was pretty much unemotional around her.
 Now that you mentioned it...it does seem like Tifa's a lot more closer to Barret than even Cloud...interesting... |

Hey, me too! I had the impression that they were married and that Marlene was their kid. The first time i encountered her, i thought "Ah, so she and Barret are husband and wife and they own a bar and run AVALANCHE together"
I hope so. I really hope so I can't imagine how the Clotis would react if that happened  |

Yeah, this picture...![]() Not real... But I can see Tifa and Barret being a couple quite easily. Tifa practically acts as Marlene's mother anyway so no problems there.

I thought at first that Barret and Tifa were married, too. They sure seemed like it, when Tifa was taking care of Marlene and it turned out that Barret was her dad in the Seventh Heaven. I always thought they'd make a good couple, too. Barret was always so concerned about Tifa - he went crazy trying to protect her in Junon when she was up for public execution and he told her she was "some kinda lady" after the Lifestream Event. I think he cares about her a great deal, and the two of them get along very well. I think Barret expressed more affection for Tifa during the game than Cloud ever did. At any rate - back on topic - in the film festivals, Square put Aerith's words about "Let's go... Cloud..." with the scene where he's almost touching the ribbon in front of the Church. Now, her words are in the scene where Cloud's about to attack Sephiroth. I think it'd be so cool if Aerith helped Cloud in the fight against Sephiroth in some way, whether it's magically or spiritually or whatever. I hope Square does that! |

this thread has been quite for a heck of a long time but... oh well-- I also got the initial impression in the game that Tifa and Barrett were together, running the bar and Avalanche, and raising Marlene. Overall, my initial impression was that Cloud and Tifa may have been "an item" in the past, but she was now with Barrett, though she did still care for Cloud. Frankly, I think that's the direction Square should have taken with her character. Like Anastar, I also happened to pick up little vibes throughout the game that suggested that Barrett may have had some feelings for Tifa. And yes, I definitely think that Tifa/Barrett would be a good combination - they're much better for each other than Tifa and Cloud. |
