To touch the light I see in your eyes...

Yes, I think that's basically what we see in the flower field scene, and I agree that it must be Aerith's spirit is talking to him.
The Death Scene is the scene when Aerith was killed in FFVII.
They say it's a temple, not Aerith's church. They also say it's a large body of water surrounded by buildings, so it's not the lake where she was buried. All I can figure is that it must be the Temple where Aerith was killed in the underground city. Why would Cloud be there? Have the SHM or Sephiroth gone there, and he has to stop them? Does he need to recover the white materia? Or is he simply there to remember Aerith? Whatever the reason, it looks like this is where Cloud will have to confront and deal with the pain and guilt of her death. |

Oh. I feel incredibly stupid. I thought you guys were meaning that Cloud was going to be dead at the end of AC...or was that some other thread? Anyway, I think you're right. As the quote from daeya.org (you can read my siggie for that), I think that this is where Cloud will as you said, "confront his guilt"--and I also think that's the place where he will be starting heal slowly--with the help of Aerith--her spirit guiding him and talking to him and all. |

That's from during Aerith's death in Advent Children. Yup, she will die again and Cloud will die with her. And when they are both beaten and laying in their own pool of blood nearly dead and holding hands, that is when Aerith will say that. They will both die and go away together so they can finally be at peace. *sniffle* That's what will happen, believe me! Just a note for those who do not know me from ACF, I happen to be a big fan of sad endings that make people cry, so don't mind me. |

 I understand... But sometimes, sad endings make happier ones... uhm... I don't know if that made sense but... *shrugs* <_< Let's go...Cloud... Maybe it's like saying, "Let's go, Cloud, let's fight them together. I'll help you because I'm with you all the way..." ![]()

Yeah, that's what I thought it meant, too... perhaps Cloud goes to the temple where she was killed because the SHM or Sephiroth have gone there or something. He has to stop them, but he's reluctant to go there because of the memory of her death in that place. Since he has to confront the memory of his guilt and pain while he is there, Aerith's spirit is encouraging him to go on. And that's why he touches the pink ribbon that way... |

This stuff is making me so excited! All this just means that Square is really putting a lot of meaning into little symbols. Just like in FFVII, we are gonna have to figure out all these meanings and piece it together. I love this kinda stuff. |

Well, I have a bad feeling about this... I think that the meaning of Tifaīs question "Why do we have to lose out to a memory"? She is speaking abourt Aerisīs memory. She is trying to tell Cloud that he has to leave behind this memory of her and goes on with his life... If I am not wrong, when he touches his pink band, maybe this means that he has decided, eventually, to accept her death and to forgives himself and to confront the problem and, finally, if they donīt dead , to start a new life.... maybe with Tifa...!! oh no!! I wish to be very wrong!! if iīm not wrong, I will kill Testsuya Nomura and all the Square-enix staff!! By the way, anybody knows if Aerith is dearest than Tifa in Japan?? this is a very important clue for all of us... |

Even if that's what Tifa means, why does Cloud have to agree just because that's what Tifa wants him to do? Just because Tifa wants it doesn't mean she's going to get it. ;) In the second place, "lose out" to a memory sounds like Tifa has already lost. In the third place, Tifa may be speaking to herself rather than to Cloud.
If that's what it means, then why is Aerith saying, "Let's go... Cloud...."? Aerith is says that during the same scene as he touches the ribbon, so Cloud deciding to move on with Tifa doesn't seem to make sense in terms of the context. It just doesn't fit the situation. |

Do you ever have the feeling that we're squeezing too much out of things that might not even mean anything? We fans can sometimes be awfully amusing.
That's what I believe it is. More than anything it sounds like a statement that someone would say to themself rather than a question to which you would hope to recieve an answer. But perhaps it's not even about Aerith, it could be about Sephy, you never know. I don't think they would say something like that about Aerith as it almost sounds bit too negative. |

I thought she was referring to Sephy at first, too, until I read the context in which it was presented in the Daeya.org report on the Montreal Film Festival, which made it sound more like Tifa was referring to Aerith. There's more about Tifa saying, "Why do we have to lose out to a memory" in this thread: http://s8.invisionfree.com/Cloud_x_Aerith/...p?showtopic=116 |

Was it really said in *real time*? Maybe it's foreshadowing and it's a line Aeris says directly to him, that would be nice! But maybe it's not...

I still think the scene with the ribbon on his arm is a flashback... Shadowgirl said she thinks so too, and she watched the Montreal screening... Besides, have we seen Cloud without his sleeve fighting the SHM or Sephiroth? Yeah, so that's why I think it's more likely a flashback. As for Aerith's line, I think it's some point where Cloud's battling and about to lose. Maybe he has a brief encounter with her for a few seconds and draws the necessary strength from that to finish everything off. Or maybe, like one of my friends said, she's coming to take him away. *plots on how best to kill Cloud with Andina* |

Cloud's not wearing his sleeve when he battles Sephiroth, and he's wearing the pink ribbon. Marionette caught the pink ribbon in a screen shot from the last trailer:
That's from Marionette's post here, in the thread about the last trailer: http://s8.invisionfree.com/Cloud_x_Aerith/...topic=674&st=30 EDIT: Now this is strange - in the sequence where Cloud is "climbing" the buildings with the two swords on his way to fight Sephy, he is wearing the sleeve. I caught that while taking random screenshots from the trailer: ![]() Why is he wearing the sleeve in this screenshot and not wearing it in the other? These must be sequences from different battles, and Square just spliced them together for the trailer. |

its not a tear, its the white materia when it felt in the water, at the place where aeris was killed. Its just shown to another perspective... and cloud didnt touch his arm because he is too sad...a friend told me, when we see cloud with his sword, that he did not say: i decided i must life for you.. he said: "i will revenge your dead...but i have not time..." |

I don't know.... the backgrounds looks too similar. Maybe Cloud's velocity was so fast that the sleeve just ripped off and floated away. Added drama effect, maybe to expose the pink ribbon.
