For me, Cloud is living in Aeris's church because he knows he is dying and he want to spend his time in the place where he can feel Aeris's presence... he knows that Aeris loved the church, her flowers.. that is why he is living there. |

An added thing about Cloud saying, "Let's go home" to Marlene in the Sleeping Forest. Cloud says, "Let's go home" to Tifa at the end of the Lifestream Event in FFVII before they swim out of the Lifestream. Neither Cloud nor Tifa actually have a home, and they aren't living together, so all he really means is, "Let's get out of here". Cloud also says, "Let's go home proud" to the entire group after they fight Sephiroth, too. Since all the group members don't actually have a home together, all that Cloud means is, "We should feel proud as we leave this place". It seems that Cloud uses that phrase rather loosely. He used it twice in FFVII when it didn't mean that he was living with the people he said it to. |

I think everyone uses that phrase loosely. I explained before that parents or people with children say it just because "home" is a comforting thought for children. I think "Let's go home" is the best thing to say in that situation. Not "Let's go back to your current residence". |
