Tifa doesn't seem to have made any initiative to 'crack onto' Cloud in the two years, so I really don't think she's that much of an 'obstacle', if that's what you call it. There have been quite a few promising Cleris hints in the AC trailers, so just sit tight!!! Aeris fans shall not be dissapointed, to quote Nomura!

Crap, typed up a whole post about this and lost it in five seconds. To summarise, I think Tifa is mostly scolding Cloud out of exasperation than jealousy. She's got a bar to run, two children to care for, one of whom is getting sicker by the day-- and now one of her dearest friends seems intent on letting himself rot away in isolation and Spoiler: click to toggle . That's a lot to have on one's mind, and I don't think Tifa has the infinite patience needed to deal with Cloud with a smile and pat on the back.I feel Tifa snaps at him because she's mad that he's giving up on life, not that he remembers Aerith. And I think that under all the perfect hair, Tifa is frazzled as all hell that nothing seems to have gotten much better post-Meteor. As much as I love angst!Cloud, I would be pretty mad too if one of my friends gave up so easily. Cloud's a cute one. While I believe he loved Aerith with all his heart, I also believe that Tifa is the one who understands her more at this point. I do think the last thing Aerith would want is for Cloud to waste his life waiting to die, even if he wants to die to meet her; and I think Tifa knows this and is trying so hard to stop it from happening. But again, as it seems to always be the case with Tifa-- right intentions, wrong method. |

My opinion: Tifa was there with Cloud til the end of the FFVII game and that didn't stop Cloud from wanting to continue his search for Aerith and the promised land. Tifa is currently in AC i.e. 2 years with Cloud in the absence of Aerith, and that didn't seem to stop Cloud from his search for Aerith and forgiveness. I honestly see no reason why Tifa being in KH would break Cloud and Aerith apart ;) Aerith will always be Cloud's light in the dark.

Didn't he say "Fans, hoping for the appearance, of Aeris in AC shall not be dissapointed" or something like this. I remember when I read the interview I was aleready angry, thinking "Great. You give her 3 seconds of screen time (which would fulfill the promice of her appearance) and think we're happy". I might have misinterpreted him, of course. But I know I didn't believe him. |

I think we can trust Nomura. I doubt that Nomura would expect Aerith fans to be happy seeing her for three seconds in the movie. For Aerith fans not to be disappointed, Aerith would need to play a significant part in the movie. I wouldn't judge what Aerith's role is in the movie by what we've seen. SE is known for doing the unexpected. ;) |

I agree, Aly. We haven't seen too much of Sephiroth, but he's obviously going to play a large role in the film. No one should write Aerith off just because she hasn't had much screentime. |

Exactly, Madame B. We also haven't seen anything of Jenova. Yet, we know that Jenova will play an important part in the movie. Nomura also said that he was filming for AC at Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, which will pretty obviously be used to portray the Northern Crater. The Northern Crater is also sure to have significance in the movie, but we haven't seen anything of it yet. |

Oh wow!! O_O Really?? That's great...more Northern Crater goodness! How exciting...I'm getting all psyched up for AC now. They probably keep the goodies till the last.

Yeppers... Nomura's been leaving notes on the Shinra website about every two months or so. In July 04, his notes said that he'd been doing on location filming for AC at Kilauea volcano. It was translated for us at Advent Children.net. |

Yup, Aerith is a legend in video game history. Her death caused so many tears, started up a whole ton of "Revive Aerith" rumours that lasted for years and she has appeared in Final Fantasy Tactics, Kingdom Hearts and still continues to have her army of fans for nearly over ten years. Oh yeah, December 2006 will mark ten years of Final Fantasy VII. |

Well, I'm not exactly writing her of. I'm just like you all hoping for something worthy at the least but I'm very suspicious as well. The time when I trusted SE to do the things right, just because it was SE are over by now. And I remember hearing that Nomura himself was the one who wanted Aeris to die so he could bring up Tifa. So, I'm just scared beyond hope, providing a cynical voice of reason to hopeful AC fans - just kidding .Besides I can't see how it should even be possible to do things right in merely 100 minutes. |

We are number one. All others are number two, or lower.

I always took that comment by Nomura as a joke. Also, why be worried that they can't get things right in 100 minutes? That's over an hour and a half! Most films are about that long, and they manage to tell their stories. AC also has the benefit that it's a sequel, so they don't need to spend as much time developing characters or establishing the characters pasts and relationships. I wouldn't be so afraid of them doing it wrong! They made the game so well, they wouldn't want to dissappoint us with a terrible story. If they don't do well with AC, they wont get the sales they want on the rest of the FF7 compilation. |
