Somebody has to like the movie's being made today. They make a bundle.

Not quite....

"Brokeback" is near the bottom in 2005 sales.

See: Movie Sales

It made about $52 million. Since it had a budget of about $14 million, it made money.

And to think the Dukes of Hazzard made $80,270,227. I guess that doesn't say much for the average American movie goer, does it!

As for Brokeback Mountain, if one is looking for a Gay porno movie, or one that ends with "and they all lived happily ever after", Brokeback mountain ain't it.
Maybe the producers of Brokeback Mountain should apologize to those that thought they were going to watch the Marlboro man get it on with John Wayne, that didn't happen either.

Brokeback Mountain is a love story, a love that was denied by ignorance and hatred, not much different then "Romeo and Juliet" or the "Fly", yes... the Fly was a love story, but most viewers couldn't get pasted the story line.

Your right, Brokeback Mountain was about Sheep herders on horse back, and not Cow herders on horse back. Cows... Sheep... who cares, they looked and acted more like the Cowboys of a yesteryear, then todays urban want-a-bees picking fights in Country and Western bars.

As for the subject mater of Brokeback Mountain not interesting people, I can see where a bimbo flick like the Ducks of Hazzard would be more appealing to the average middle America movie goer. What I can't understand is how someone can comment about a film they didn't see.

One things for sure, the scenery was spectacular!

Hummm, after seeing the results of the 06 election, I may have to modify my perception of the voting populous and refer to them as "Late Bloomers".

Yea.. And I’ll continue to buy Playboy magazines for the articles…

I must admit I don’t watch many movies.. And I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS ONE….

But then I wouldn’t watch a hip replacement surgery on the discovery channel.. I don’t find the subject matter appealing..

Wonder if there is a connection????? :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Yeah, I can see where a Playboy article would be better suited to you.

I'll have to confess that I did not see Dukes of Hazard either.

$82 million isn't good either. I guess not too many people wanted to see Jessica Simpson in her shorts. It is interesting though it did beat the award winning Brokeback Mountain!

If I want spectacular scenery, I'll watch the Travel channel....

What is wrong with commenting on a movie you didn't see?

Hummmm.... I would think the answer to that question would be obvious, I guess not.

Speaking of horses, that's the oldest and deadest horse of an argument in the entire subject of homosexuality.
