I'm not saying homosexuals choose to be homosexual. As Linda says, it's not a conscious choice...you just are what you are.
But
we're all born selfish, too, and learn to be otherwise.
just because you are inclined to something doesn't mean you have to act on it.
people who eat too much can decide to diet and control their appetite.

love happens between people of the same sex and opposite sex.
but sexual activity can be controlled.

Certainly it is a lifestyle chosen. No one was born that way.

Balls, balls and more balls....

I can just see some young guy getting up in the morning and thinking "You know, my life is just too darn boring. I think I'll "turn" gay, be ostracized by a quarter of the population, have trouble finding a place to rent, suffer discrimination and lack of advancement in my job (if I can GET a job), be talked about behind my back by neighbours and get the sh*t kicked out of myself by some red-neck Ignoramus in a bar one night.
Yeah, THAT would be more interesting!"

Mur, funny you should make that list. When an employee of ours came out and told his family he was gay, his brothers, who had recently been so worried about his recovery from cancer, wanted nothing to do with him. When one of the brothers expressed his feelings to me, I stated almost the same thing to him. Up to that point, he truly believed that their little brother just "chose" to be gay. It's sad that this false impression continues to be supported. It's also sad that people use the bible to ostracize what is probably about 2% of the population. While I understand Jane's analogy, I disagree that this portion of the population should be expected to abstain from sex altogether to make a few homophobes comfortable. Personally, I'm glad that I don't have to go through life as a male and feel an attraction to men and feel no attraction to women; on the other hand, I for one (three :) ) will not ostracize those that do, nor will I fear them. They have every right to live their lives and search for happiness as do the rest of us.
Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money...

Well put Mur!

Without a doubt, there are some people on the "bisexual" fringe that look for any port in a storm so to speak, but those that I have know that are truly homosexual say they have felt different from childhood and attracted to the same sex from day one.

Isn't that the basis for the nurture/nature argument? Some would say that God won't produce homosexuals and so they must have been influenced to become homosexual.

My dog is homosexual, where did he learn that? Maybe I should stop taking him to the dogie park. Gotta keep um away from all those pinko queer liberal dogs. :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

It isn't something that can be "caught" you have to "learn" it. Certainly it is a lifestyle chosen. No one was born that way.

The bible says Adam and Eve were incestuous, who taught them that? Who was the first homosexual, and who did he learn it from? :whistle: :whistle:
