Good morning, get up, everyone! Time to rise and shine.

Time for me to hit the malls; I will be gone most of the day or for as long as my feet hold up. I didn't do this last year and am nearly out of wrapping paper, and I have to find a new net light for Mom's favorite evergreen bush; half of it is out for some reason. No, I am NOT going to go through it replacing 100 tiny bulbs!

Have a nice day, all!

WE HAVE MORE SNOW THAN THE NETHERLANDS HAS

If you doubt me go click on Ijmuiden aan Zee here, if it's not in view already.

& compare with: CA NL roads webcams . It's another one of those storms where I shall have to go out the basement and swim to the front steps.

Aside from that the turkey is now in the oven. I shall eat off of this the rest of the holidays!!!

Well, I'm up but I'm not shining :( I refuse to shine :( So there :(

I don't know why I'm such a grump this morning, but I am, so watch it! Hopefully the cheerful fairy stops by soon to sprinkle me at which time I will return with a smile.

Have a day - or else ;)

Been AWOL from the computer for a while and will be most of today, too. Greg's at the store and has taken over for me since December 23. I just had too much to do at home.

The kids & I cleaned the house from top to bottom on the 23rd -- something which I hadn't really done since the store opened and REALLY needed to do. Christmas Eve I had to make all kinds of hor dourves to take to mom's house. Both my sisters came up from Milwaukee to spend Christmas as Mom & dad's. It was the first time in about 10 years that mom and dad got to have Christmas at their place! My brother lives in the same subdivision as my parents, so he and his wife were there, too. It was a full house, because all but my brother spent the night -- let's see that would be mom & dad, six more adults, 7 grandchildren and FOUR dogs! Oh, and let's not forget that my brother brought over his two dogs for the pictures! SIX dogs and they all got along and didn't knock over the tree! :floorrollin:

Christmas Day dinner was at my house with my mom & dad, one sister and one of her sons. The others left to go back to Milwaukee. Martha had never been to my house before, so that was part of the reason for all the cleaning! :floorrollin:

Aaron & Abby went back with my mom and dad and are spending time ice fishing with papa and their Great Aunti Mary! Erica and I are tearing Abby's room apart (she's a SLOB!) and cleaning it and painting it! She's going to come home to a sparkling new room! I'm sure she'll be shocked to see it! And I'm sure quite happy to find it clean and organized! Big question is how to keep it that way!

Today is painting day, so I best get going!

Good day all!!!

Fifty three degrees, and steam coming off the pool, but I went to do the aerobics anyway. :faint: Even made it to the 8:30 one, only to remember that on Tuesday, it is 8:00 and 10:00. :fryingpan: :fryingpan: OH well, will go back for the 10:00 one.

Julie, I hope the sales at the store went thru the roof for the holiday season!

Pat, hope that cheerful fairy comes soon...........Posted Image

Have a great day all!!
Greg, Dylan & Jasper too!

Good morning, can't seem to wake. This is my third try
My nephew and his wife and son are coming over today. They usually spend Christmas with us but stayed home this year and cooked and entertained themselves. He's also my Godson and very nice young man.
Straighten up the house a little and that's hit.

Hey Miss Grumpy, feeling better? :floorrollin: :floorrollin: :floorrollin:

Good morning everyone. It is 52 degrees F with fog and misting wetness here on the Monterrey Bay. More heavy rain is predicted for the rest of the week, so it is time to move on, probably in a southwesterly direction. I'm tired of the rain and that's why my house has wheels.

What a great Christmas this was. It was also the first time I have every experienced a Hanukkah celebration. They both happened on the same day. If I eat another latke, I think I'll explode. But yumm. My hosts' kids loved watching Orson open his Christmas gifts, while their dog tried to figure it out. I had gifts for PeeTee (their dog) too, although he needed a little help with the first one. I might have created a monster. Time will tell if PeeTee thinks all wrapped gifts are for him.

I knew my host back when he was just a hard working Silicon Valley software engineer. He went to work for a startup company that developed an obscure application that just happened to fit the needs of the cell phone text messaging market that basically did not exist at the time. Low pay and lots of stock options were the norm then. When the product suddenly came into demand, all the big companies wanted to buy this little one to get their hands on the product and development staff. A bidding war ensued between the big players. He exercised the options and sold very high. Now they have a beautiful house overlooking the bay with a huge lot and lots of trees. Both are retired in their mid 40s, and can spend the time with their kids.

We might have a fellow RVer among us soon, as they were very interested in my little mh and asked a lot of questions...

I'm going to take the toad down the hill to town and load up on crab before hitting the road.

I haven't moved in 31 years and I would be frightened if we had to - too much stuff!!! Are you moving far/near? Doesn't much matter I guess, since you have to pack no matter what. Good luck. I don't envy you the work.

Desert Raven-66, Good luck with the move, exciting to go to a new home, also a good way to get rid of things you've been holding on to and don't use. When you're settled in we look forward to hearing all about the new place. :)

My friend leaves for Thailand in 2 weeks. He is going for 9 weeks. He may move there.

Oh, I hear the girls starting to surface :faint: their up :floorrollin:

I go back to work tomorrow. Jackie, ready for the New Years food shopping rush?

Well, I got back home at nearly 3...some moderate success; only one GOOD find (a Pfaltzgraf Winterberry Pie plate with a matching "pie bird", 60% off plus the 20% off newspaper coupon! :) Not much good stuff left, thousands of people. I got some good wrapping paper at Tar-zhay, and some nice little Christmas cards that eactually have the word "Christmas" on them! :faint:

I made the mistake of going into Circuit City to see about Macintosh computers for Mom (they don't carry them), and got short-circuited in the mobile radio deparment; came out with a Sony CD player and all the stuff needed to install it in the Sportsmobile. I have to go back later in the week to have them put it in.
